SO I did an incredibly self-indulgent thing and I commissioned @lelelego to create some art for the next Big Writing Project on my plate. It’s another Homestuck fic, it’s gonna be a ride, and Jake the not-quite-a-merman is one of the centerpieces.
Look at this shiny water boy. Look at his amphibious tail and glowspots and his translucent fins. He is so pretty. He’s going to be a menace.
I super needed visual reference for this version of Jake because he’s not a merman, and I needed to… sort out how he’d look? So I dumped like a page of written ideas and a dozen inspirational images onto Lego, and she fucking used talent and witchcraft to make it all work together. And then put up with all my “okay but can you do this instead” requests.
Lego is good. If you require some arts, she is very good at them.
…. /vibrates with excitement. I think the title may be you can only take what you can carry to the edge of the world. We’ll see.
