So you guys have been to a few of my streams, you’ve made requests, you’ve had fun.
I want to do something a little bit different tonight! An art exercise to delve a little deeper into on-the-spot concepts. Something for fun.
Tonight I want to draw some stuff for you guys, but I want to do it in a way that will drive some improvement out of me, so here’s how its gonna work:
(Please note that as with all of my requests, your requests must be homestuck. Sorry!)
Once inside the stream you are free to make your request! Your request must have two things.
1. The character you would like drawn (I’ll also do pairings. because yeah.)
2. A theme.
And by theme I mean a single word you want me to base the picture around! One word!! Birds, trees, cities, lights, grunge, victorian. Theme. Any single word (of course, that isn’t derogatory or offensive or w/e), and then i’ll make a sketch of that character inspired by it.
This is an art exercise first and foremost, and free art second. You sure will be getting free art, but its mostly for the intent and purposes of improvement. Also totally not sure how much effort will be shoved into these. It’s very possible that I’ll enjoy a prompt so much that I’ll put tons of work in it– its also possible that they all turn out as half-formed sketches because my brain won’t work. ;____;
ONE LAST THING: Change your name when you get into the stream to make things easier! Do this by clicking the person icon on the menubar and double clicking the first name on the list, which is your current name. I want you to do this because when I track requests, I’ll put your name beside the request, then randomly generate a number off the list. I’ll check to see if you’re still present before drawing a request; if you aren’t, it will not get drawn. Sorry!!

I JUST…. couldn’t deprive tumblr of the beauty of my younger cousin’s drawings.
She happened to be hanging around while me and my sister were drawing and letting my ipod scroll through a playlist of Homestuck music I’d set. Naturally she was interesting in knowing who was singing and why they’d changed the lyrics of ‘Fergalicious’ and FURTHERMORE just who this Karkat guy was.
A long conversation on homestuck later, she decided she wanted to draw up a few 'headcanons’. This included Karkat having goat hands and John having a salamander tail. She also was extremely horrified at the gif of Feferi’s introduction and thinks she brainwashed all the fish into following her around lmfOAFSD
She really likes Karkalicious I guess look at all those song lyrics in here i’m just omg

During after-hours stretches one time, Karkat has the radio on to some random channel they usually play without paying attention while they stretch. This song comes on and John like LEAPS across the room to turn it up and Karkat’s just incredulous for a second until John starts being a huge dork and mouthing all the words to him and by the time the chorus comes around they’ve fallen into some half-way-almost kind of tango. They get really into it and dance out the whole song while improving all the moves and end in a position with John dipping Karkat– and Karkat like… can’t help this really tiny dry grin and its the first time John sees him smile and he almost drops him LFMAOFsfd

Some thing I composed/painted/did for boyfriendleaders because i LOVE BOYFRIENDLEADERS its just ridiculous.
As a side note; sorry for the horrible sound quality and i’m.. not a composer I’m not good with keeping time or reading music or much of anything. I was just really concerned with it sounding like something John would play when he feels heavy, something real and something… for Karkat. I hope I did ok!!
