Hey! Cig, everything about your art is absolutely fantastic, so I’m curious: Do you have any tips for shading and coloring?

But mostly I play with overlay and multiply layers a lot!
Let me show you with my last drawing here :

Gif are terrible, here. First I block colors (one for fins, the other for the body)
I separate them to better work the transparency of the fins)

I add some color variation with gradients then duplicate the fins layer, the one above the body is put on “overlay”

Nice, it glows! Then I had some spot, on another layer.

I duplicate the glow, blur one layer, and put in on overlay.

Even more glow! But not enough, so I duplicate it again.

Yes perfect. Then, on another layer, above all the others, I add details.

Then, I work on the background… and voilà!
