I’ve been so dissatisfied with how the colours turn out in my drawings lately, they often look too dark\dirty :\ I’m trying to work on that, but no progress so far

I hope this little step-by-step will help. I use this brush to draw spots\freckles on a separate layer and then I set the layer mode to luminosity or lumi&shade( in SAI). You can also make them with dodge tool in Photoshop using any particle/dust/etc brush.
