If you get this question a lot please just ignore me, but besides your amazing use of colours I am always so impressed with your poses and anatomy in general! Even looking at your older art, it was always something you excelled at. So I was wondering, did you ever specifically practice these things and if so, could you share with us how?

Thank you a lot, anon! To answer your question, I’ve always tended to focus more on anatomical aspect of the drawing( maybe at the expense of other aspects), which I’ve been studying by using books, by drawing my parents/ myself while looking in the mirror, and by studying various photos from the internet. I haven’t paid much attention to gestures and neglected doing them until last year, which I deeply regret now: nothing improves your grasp of proportions and helps you with drawing good poses better than practicing gestures. I also recently started attending life drawing classes, which turned out to be very different from drawing gestures using photos, and I am also taking an anatomy course right now( we’re still on the skull part). And that’s pretty much it.

Here’s a list of material I’ve been using and found to be the most helpful: Gottfrid Bammes, George B. Bridgman,  Villpu( books and videos), Zarins Uldis, Kondrats Sandis - Anatomy for Sculptors, Michael Hampton – Figure Drawing, Eliot Goldfinger – Human Anatomy for Artists, Alberto Lolli - Struttura Uomo ( and a lot of anatomy books and videos in Russian, sorry, but none of them is translated :C)

so much PASSION

A fun game: Reblog art or writing or other creative pieces you’re most proud of!

Tumblr is very dynamic and lacks proper archive system so all the original content has a very short life span attention-wise. So lets bring back stuff we spent endless nights and nerves on and be proud of it. It does not matter if it’s something from a week ago or two years, reblog whatever you want your followers to look at again UwU

!!! Great idea : D

What did your art look like when you were younger? And what age are you now? (If that's not a weird question)

I just turned 24 recently. I started posting on tumblr in august-october 2011, so you can look at my older posts. And here’s some drawings from 2006-2008.

for some reason i thought you were like 28 - 30 oh my god. You're only a year older than me...... I suddenly have 110% more determination to get better at art now. Thank you. I WILL BE JUST AS GOOD BY THE END OF THIS YEAR.

That’s the spirit!!! ୧(ಠ⌣ಠ)୨  Actually, the only reason I reply to requests to show my old art is that I feel that such posts can be inspiring to other artists.
