do you think art is only through practice or that there is skill/natural talent involved? everyone says you will practice a lot, for years ane years, and get better. but some people just arent good at things, some peole cant write or sing or dance or play an instrument,even with practice, and some are better than others, because they dont have talent for it. i know it takes practice to be better but the level of skill some people have seems impossible just by practicing.
Artistic skill is the result of practice. Always.
Like any skill, it takes effort and patience to cultivate. What you’ve identified as “natural talent” is likely the result of countless years of work. Just because an artist hasn’t made their scrapped sketches/earlier works/thumbnails/etc. publicly accessible doesn’t mean they haven’t put the time in.
That being said, it’s okay to feel defeated at times when your artistic goals seem unachievable, but ultimately, wallowing in these feelings and ascribing the skills of other creatives to innate talent is only limiting your own growth and improvement as an artist. You need to take responsibility for your own learning.
