Thinking a lot about black romances. I’m pretty sure kismesis sex isn’t always violent and intense but if/when it is there’s gotta be some kind of aftercare there. Not necessarily cuddles and snuggles but more of a “I’m making sure you’re not dead/emotionally scarred because you are important and I want to do this again later” kind of deal.
Headcanon: Dave hates it when Gamzee is affectionate because he thinks he’s trying to fuck with his head (usually he is). But I figure Gamzee knows Dave doesn’t really have anyone else he trusts to comfort him if he’s feeling shaken up after a particularly brutal face-wrecking, so he just kind of sits there and lets him seethe until he’s sure Dave’s alright.
Dave’s not nearly as good at providing this service for Gamzee, usually only managing to do it when things are particularly intense or if something goes wrong and he accidentally hurts him(more than intended). It just doesn’t occur to him as something he should do, and they both kind of suck at emotions.
