turnstechgodhead:

thinking about hs^2 and about how dirk seems like he wants dave to kill him

i haven’t read all of it and god knows i cant read the epilogues without struggling (dirk is a very very wordy man and i zone out when i see him starting to narrate too hard i cant help it the words he says g over my head half the time anyway. )

but im just thinking abt how in hs dirk says that His bro got to live up to his full potential and show who he was to the world and prove himself as some kind of legendary/ heroic figure

is that what he wants from dave. some kind of fucked up twisted suicide method involving his brother getting to have what he (dirk) thinks he deserves (recognition, hero status)

dirk is so obsessed with his brother

thinking about how its a desire that’s totally disregarding dave’s own desires

dave never wanted to see any more blood or do any more fighting

like he left it behind on that rooftop

dirk is so obsessed with his brother that his adoration and desire for him to have what seemed like some kind of ‘uninfluenced True/Ultimate Dave experience’ (read: his Bro) have made him forget that dave Does Not Want to hurt him/be a hero but dave has the mental strength to do certain things that need to be done even if he feels like he would rather die i think

davebot i think is dirk twisting it to a degree. a caricature of his Bro superimposed on his brother

idk i still dont understand exactly why dirk needed(he himself not story-wise) this kind of control over the narrative. or this kind of control over his brother. man couldve just gotten like. insane about fish or bugs or something and collect and maintain a bazillion of them and those wild ass terrariums and cope that way
