Role of the Creator - The Sylph

Those born with the Role of the Sylph are meddlesome by nature. They enjoy being aware of what’s going on with those around them, and can come off as bothersome when they start prying where they shouldn’t. With rich internal lives, they are passionate about their interests and will gladly share and overshare with those they trust, yet may appear to alienate themselves from the rest. An open book for the ones they love, an inscrutable riddle to the rest of the world. Sylphs tend to act for the benefit of what they think is important, be it other people, their beliefs or convictions, even when their help may not be wanted, even if their means are questionable. At their best, they are patient and gentle, bringers of unity and care to their circles. At their worst, they can be Machiavellian, invasive and petty.

Sylphs are heavily tied to their Aspect, even more so than other Classes. For them, their Aspect make up an integral part of their lives, and shape them to a great degree. Whether it be Knowledge, Friendship, Faith, Survival, a Sylph’s affinity may range from the Characteristic, to the borderline Obsessive. They’re most comfortable when allowed to engage in their interests, and given enough relevance and importance, they may become one of the most powerful forces you could hope to have on your side. A restrained Sylph will, however, often find themselves held back from becoming relevant, fading into obscurity as they wait for their time to shine, and perhaps, eventually breaking through what binds them to assert themselves where they rightfully belong.

Being one of the Creator Classes, Sylphs are the Passive counterpart to Maids, and similar to them, their strengths lie in Making things. Creating, Increasing, Expanding or otherwise Improving their Aspect, or through their Aspect, their power sets are strongly suited towards Healing, Repairing, Empowering and Enabling their group to continue fighting. Don’t let that make you think they are only suited for the back lines, however, if made to take direct action, a Sylph channelling their Aspect is a force to be reckoned with. They will fight for their cause and for those they love, they will keep going until victory is achieved, or until they drop dead.

Role of the Creator - The Maid

Those born with the Role of the Maid tend to differ from their peers. Generally alienated from the norm in some way or other, they struggle with what fate has in store for them, and fight to liberate themselves in order to be happy. The world seems to want them to give more than they are willing to with little payback, wearing them out, and only by gaining control of their situation and asserting what they want can they fully express themselves. While held back, Maids tend to bottle up their true desires and emotions, they may become complacent, even resigned about their situation, but once things reach a breaking point, or hopefully, once given a chance to break free, they will let their true demeanor out and seek what they think is best for themselves. They can show a passionate love for they things they deem important, while holding a similarly passionate contempt and dislike for the things that wronged them and those they care about. At their best, they are capable, understanding, encouraging and content. At their worst, they can be irascible, remorseful and become alienated from the rest of their circle.

Maids share a very close relationship with their Aspect, which can be often times as beneficial as it can be damaging. The struggle they need to face and overcome is often related to their Aspect, but that doesn’t mean they can only become happy if they reject it entirely. In fact, completely disregarding their Aspect can be just as toxic for them as being shackled by it. Freeing themselves to adopt facets selectively, or making what forcefully bound them theirs instead, turning the tables on their situation, but never casting their Aspect completely away, a fully realized Maid needs to know how to strike a balance. Once this balance is found, they can become an extremely effective and confident power to be relied on. Ignoring or dismissing a Maid’s struggle and desires, however, can easily turn them against you, and they won’t be afraid to hold it against you if things get bad enough.

Being one of the Creator Classes, Maids are the Active counterpart to Sylphs, and similar to them, their strengths lie in Making things. The power of Creation, Improvement, Growth, flows through them, allowing them to amplify their impact in combat or empower themselves with their Aspect. Not only that, but, while more prone to taking direct action, Maids can just as easily use their powers to similarly Aid and Enable those they’re fighting alongside with, allowing them to be reliable in any situation. They fight for what they want, and they are going to take it.

Role of the Giver - The Knight

Those born with the Role of the Knight are devoted and reliable. Or at least, they want to appear reliable to those they care about. Insecurities, fears, doubts, they don’t tend to share them, even with their most trusted and loved partners, unless they’re being pressed or in dire need to vent. Rather, Knights have a tendency to mask their true feelings in order to showcase themselves in a specific manner. They want to feel necessary, to know others trust them to give advice and offer help, and will rush to the aid of those who need it in a heartbeat, no matter the risk or how monumental the task, if they are needed, they will answer the call. Knights dislike inaction and will seek something to do, even in situations where it’s inadvisable to do so. As long as, in the end, they feel as though they have contributed and been useful in some way, as long as they managed to help others in some way, they will be happy. At their best, they are nurturing and great friends, always there when you need them the most. At their worst, they can be obsessive, reckless and needy.

Knights may try to take charge of a situation, to try and live to the expectations of responsibility and reliability they themselves created, which doesn’t tend to end well for them. While not completely incapable of doing so, they’re most effective supporting their team rather than leading it, following the will of their Aspect, or aiding others through it. They cannot be Lone Heroes, and can only shine with the support of others, and specially, by supporting others. This tends to make Knights likeable and good to have around, even those who aren’t specially fit for fighting are capable of bringing ease with them. However, this need to aid others can be a heavy crux. Regardless of the situation, Knights are quick to blame themselves for mistakes, even if they themselves weren’t necessarily responsible. Furthermore, this instinct to aid anyone in need of help can easily lead them to rush ahead without thinking in the consequences, putting them in jeopardy.

Being one of the Giver Classes, Knights are the Passive counterpart to Pages, and similar to them, their strengths lie in Serving. Providing, Weaponizing, Using or Distributing their Aspect in some way, or coming to other people’s Aid through the use of their Aspect. Knights are a versatile Class, just as well suited to keep those they care about from harm, as they are to Serve a crushing defeat to those who tried to harm them in the first place. Resourceful, quick to act, God help whoever dares lay a single finger on those a Knight is in service of, they will know no rest until they have ensured their loved ones are safe.

Role of the Giver - The Page

Those born with the Role of the Page are a well of potential. Pages tend to liken themselves to others or create an ideal persona in their minds, which they then proceed to emulate and hide behind. Wishful, disconnected between their inner world and how they present themselves, their nature radiates innocence and kindness. They don’t take well to change, and would rather live in a static lie than accept a truth that’d shift what they’re used to. A Page may, however, be more aware and perceptive than they appear to be, intentionally shutting themselves away beneath their fabricated persona, in an attempt to lose accountability and tip-toe around unpleasant topics. Due to this, they may come off as daydreamers, childish, and sometimes even outright mean. And while they can definitely be rude, a well meaning Page is as charming as can be. Striving for their ideals, working towards their own goals, they can easily inspire others to want to spend time together, to help them out, to achieve what they want. At their best, they are inspiring, easygoing, likeable dreamers. At their worst, they can be manipulative, selfish and infuriating.

Pages have a long way to go if they desire to obtain mastery over their Aspect. They are presented with one of the toughest challenges when it comes to discovering their self worth and true potential. Their development is slow, slower than that of the rest, and for this reason they need the help of others to fully mature. With their inspiring personalities, rather than directly making use of their Aspect, they tend to draw others to take control or aid them through it, although they may also call upon their Aspect to shield themselves from unpleasantness and hardship. Their strengths initially lie in the bonds they build with people and how persuasive they can be, or at worst, in how desperately and obviously they need help. But once matured, their drive, power and range of possibilities are second next to none.

Being one of the Giver Classes, Pages are the Active counterpart to Knights, and similar to them, their strengths lie in Serving. In the case of the Pages specifically, it’s them who tend to be Served. Offered help by others, and Stockpiling their Aspect’s power for themselves, to begin with they may find it difficult to make direct use of their Aspect, forcing them to rely on others to steadily improve. This only makes the road towards maturation and self-improvement harder for Pages. However, if they manage to overcome the slow rise to their full potential, they may tap into the immense stockpile of power that is their Aspect. Making full use of their powers, a fully realized Page is an unstoppable powerhouse, a beacon of their Aspect capable of facing even the strongest of foes. Patience is key for the Page, and those that wronged them while they were still growing, will eventually face the consequences of their actions.

Role of the Visionary - The Seer

Those born with the Role of the Seer are seekers of knowledge. They have an innate awareness of their surroundings and a knack for learning, recalling and analysing their interests, no matter how difficult or dense they may be. As such, a Seer’s inner world may be as confusing and complicated as their interests, making it sometimes hard to get to know them properly. On top of that, they tend to struggle with grey areas, dividing in their mind what’s right and wrong. This black and white point of view can be biased, muddling in turn the insight a Seer may be able to offer otherwise. They can become easily frustrated when presented with choices or situations that don’t fit their divide of the world, and need to eventually learn not everything in the world is as clear as it seems to them. When they think something is right, they will try hard to share it with others, and won’t easily back down on their word. At their best they are capable, intelligent and always eager to offer advice to others. At their worst, they can be pedantic and zealous about their opinions and thoughts.

Seers don’t need to be specially comfortable with their Aspect, rather, their Aspect determines what kind of insight and information comes more naturally to them, or what they have an easier time understanding. As such, intrusive thoughts are their enemy, and paranoia can easily take hold of them if they’re not careful, making them obsess playing scenarios in their minds over and over. If something manages to muddle their vision and presents what they thought to be true as wrong, a Seer’s sense of self can easily be shattered, doubts about themselves and regrets about the outcomes they should have been able to predict will plague their mind, and the healing process won’t be an easy journey. Seers tend to be well meaning, however, and even when things aren’t going too well for them, they’re open to talk and listen to those they care about, to offer whatever little bit of help they may be able to.

Being one of the Visionary Classes, Seers are the Passive counterpart to Mages, and similar to them, their strengths lie in Knowing things. Understanding, Learning, and Guiding others through their knack for the subject in general, they can be powerful aids when it comes to planning and strategy. This doesn’t mean they’re completely meant for utility, however, as with their insight and awareness, a Seer can use that which they have seen to bend causality to their whims. Once they know the outcome, they can focus on reaching it or preventing it. Precision, Subtlety, Cunning, a Seer adept in the arts of combat may become completely untouchable, and perform feats others would have deemed completely impossible. For those they care about, they will bend the future if they need to.

Role of the Visionary - The Mage

Those born with the Role of the Mage are naturally insightful. Introspection and learning more about themselves is as important to them as learning the ins and outs of what has become important to them. They have an idealized view of how the world around them should work, and will strive to make their Reality pleasant and bearable for themselves, even when it may not be the best path for others. Mistakes can weigh heavy on a Mage’s shoulders, but their biggest enemy is the immutability of a world they don’t deem fair and that has wronged them in the past. Due to this, while eager to share their knowledge and interests with those they trust, they may become reclusive if they fall to the clutches of self-deprecation and lack of agency. At their best, they are deep, optimistic and great teachers to those willing to learn. At their worst, they can be fatalistic and isolate themselves from their peers.

Mages find their Aspect coming quite naturally to them, they barely need to try to understand their strengths and weaknesses. As such, they will use the insight they know is there to lead others and change fate in ways that suit them. However, this insight isn’t always appreciated, and as such, a Mage may begin overthinking what should be simple and straightforward, sending them down a swirling spiral they need to escape as soon as possible. Their struggle is that of their desires and wants versus the inevitability of reality around them. Confident and stubborn Mages will push forward with all their might and not let anything stand in their way of what they want, but if they become disillusioned with the way things are, they may fall prey of complacency and acceptance against their better desires. And yet trying to change the unchangeable may come with a heavy price for them. Striking a balance between what they can do and what they want to do is vital for them, lest they push themselves too hard.

Being one of the Visionary Classes, Mages are the Active counterpart to Seers, and similar to them, their strengths lie in Knowing things. Their Insight about their Aspect and Themselves is unmatched, and will Teach and Guide others through that which they find important and relevant to their interests. Foresight, Planning, Mages will not be taken by surprise easily, and will fight back with all they have in order to change that which they don’t agree with. They’re miracle workers that will take hold of their Aspect to both ensure things go smoothly, and to directly engage those who dare oppose them. A Mage’s conviction is nothing to shrug at, and if you stand in their path, they will show you the hard way.

Role of the Innovator - The Heir

Those born with the Role of the Heir are bound to malleability. They aren’t just open to changing themselves, they are also heavily inclined to influence change in others. This knack to affect others may not present itself directly, but something of their own or related to them could hold a similar effect. Heirs are open, yet care about others and the impact they may have on them enough to hide facets of themselves, things that could drag their partners down or make them uncomfortable. Those who dismiss the influence they hold upon others can, unwittingly or otherwise, become a detriment to the rest. And as change permeates their lives, these tend to build up and escalate towards a defining moment or series of defining moments that truly alter them, and that will shape who they are and how they interact with others. At their best, they are friendly, understanding and caring of their friends. At their worst, they can be distant, stuck-up and easily manipulable.

Heirs are at risk of losing themselves to their Aspect if they allow it to influence and change them enough. Their Heir’s Aspect factors heavily in their environment, being a main source of influence in their lives, and culminating in this defining change they may inherit. As such, they need to grow and mature, to learn to take hold of their Aspect before they’re irreparably changed by it, making their will and goals important to hold on to. A confident, determined Heir is a powerful and versatile force that can accomplish anything they put their mind into and can shift the tides of battle in a heartbeat, but they shouldn’t lose sight of what’s important for them, lest they lose themselves.

Being one of the Innovator Classes, Heirs are the Passive counterpart to Witches, and similar to them, their strengths lie in Changing things. Manipulating, Converting and otherwise Controlling their Aspect, they are adept at shaping their powers and shifting them to suit them in battle. Heirs may allow their Aspect to flow through them and shape them but they’ll occasionally take direct control of their powers to attack. They can easily contribute to any situation, as they are adaptable and good at keeping up with the rest of their group. Don’t take a Heir lightly, even those who are more carefree may bite back if pressed too far.

Role of the Innovator - The Witch

Those born with the Role of the Witch are ambitious and practical. They desire bringing a change they perceive as positive to the world around them, and may just as well change themselves to suit a more idealised self. Passionate about that which they love, they can be heavily influenced by their interests and by their surroundings, and show the same amount of passion about that which they hate. Witches dislike wasting time, and would rather use their resources and energy in furthering their goals, which makes them reliable when it comes to find a practical solution. However, this trait is a double edged sword, as they may quickly dismiss that which they can’t grasp as easily, or which requires an inordinate amount of time and effort from them, preferring to focus on their own interests and making them avoid what isn’t worth their time. First impressions are important for them, and they can be quite stubborn about what they do and do not enjoy. At their best, they’re positive, hard working dreamers. At their worst, they can be neglectful, resentful and closed-minded.

Witches’ lives are permeated by the presence of their Aspect, partially in their interests and that which they want to bring change to, and also as an element of their environment bringing change to them, and which they may overcome. They are not pushovers, but bad influences in their surroundings can easily wear a Witch out, and eventually, consume their passion and will. As such, in order to be happy, they must cast away these oppressive forces that try to impose on themselves, assert their agency and ideals. For, once a Witch casts aside that which has been holding them back, their sights will quickly set on their goal, efficiently, and without a rest.

Being one of the Innovator Classes, Witches are the Active counterpart to the Heirs, and similar to them, their strengths lie in Changing things. Transforming, Modifying and Manipulating their Aspect, themselves, others, and their surroundings as they see fit, a Witch’s powers’ versatility knows no bounds. Much like how they change everything through the use of their Aspect, even the tides of battle quickly shift under the heel of a Witch. Efficient in combat as they are with everything else, it’s better to stay out their way, lest they cast a spell on you.

Role of the Taker - The Rogue

Those born with the Role of the Rogue are naturally rebellious. They don’t take kindly to the shackles their society puts on them, and would rather do things their way than be bound to an order they don’t agree with, or simply not care much about, whether it be through direct action against the system, or abstracting themselves in their own worlds and interests. As such, Rogues tend to isolate themselves as a way to deal with stressful situations or distance themselves from others. This doesn’t mean they are solitary by nature, however, while selective about those they interact and relate to, they are passionate, open and friendly with those they love, creating strong romantic and platonic bonds that are hard to break. Rogues live for the well being of their small social circle, and aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty if they manage to aid them. At their best, they are generous, receptive and hold strong ideals and convictions. At their worst, they can be impulsive and apathetic.

Rogues may use their Aspect as ways to isolate themselves from their societies and their circles, which can be toxic to them in excess. However, casting it away is not the solution, as a more moderate interest and a good understanding of it can turn into a more healthy relationship with their Aspect. Where Rogues shine, however, is not in their direct interaction with their Aspect, but sharing it among their peers. They are team players ready to help those they care about, but if their close bonds start turning into obsession, they can end up damaging themselves and those around them. Moderation and Balance are key for a Rogue, and those who manage to get it right can strengthen their group and support them through whatever they may have to face.

Being one of the Taker Classes, Rogues are the Passive counterpart to the Thieves, and similar to them, their strengths lie in Stealing. Robbing their Aspect from a source or Taking it away entirely, and Distributing their spoils somewhere else, Rogues are adept at taking from their target, only to spread it among their companions. And while they generally allow their loot to be shared among those who need it, it doesn’t mean they can’t use the Aspect they took as a tool to fend off their foes if pressed. Never lower your guard when facing a Rogue, or they may just steal victory from right under your nose, when you least expect it.

Role of the Taker - The Thief

Those born with the Role of the Thief are lone wolves. With a strong set of ideals, they cannot be easily dissuaded once they have made their mind about something, and aren’t afraid to break rules or cheat the system if they need to. All is fair in order to achieve their goal.  They are straightforward, blunt, to the point, with no time to waste, and always have their hands full with something. While they can form part of a group and form bonds with others, their values and nature may conflict with them, and they run the risk of manipulating and using others if they don’t trust and respect them as equals. The bonds a Thief does make, however, are intense due to their extreme selectiveness, and losing one of these bonds can be stressful and devastating for them. At their best, they’re energetic, fearless and ready to take action at a moment’s notice. At their worst, they can be egotistical and cocky.

Thieves may have a perceived lack of their Aspect to begin with, which will often challenge them. Something they’re missing and they struggle with, something they must learn to take from the environment, from others. This doesn’t, however, mean that they need to stay with others to mature, as their need to take their Aspect plays into their lone wolf nature, bettering themselves, building themselves up, and becoming a powerhouse on their own. They’re as powerful going solo as they are in a team, however their companions should be wary of being left behind, and used as stepping stones to further their goals. Trust and respect are crucial for a Thief to be reliable, but with a strong enough bond, they can become one of the most powerful teammates you could hope for.

Being one of the Taker Classes, Thieves are the Active counterpart to the Rogues, and similar to them, their strengths lie in Stealing. Taking or Receiving their Aspects from others and from any fitting source to benefit themselves, they are all about strengthening themselves and amassing more and more. This works doubly in their favor, improving their lack of their Aspect while reducing its amount on their foes, they can fend themselves against the strongest of enemies. A Thief should be aware and careful of not going overboard, however, as where they Steal from, they may leave only Lack.

Role of the Destroyer - The Bard

Those born with the Role of the Bard faithfully follow their cause. They have something they think is righteous and good, and are devoted to it and those important enough to them. Bards don’t take kindly to mockery or skepticism towards their cause, however, as they see the good and positive in it, so those opposed to it can only be considered as villains. If their faith is broken, they will become disillusioned with that which they so intensely identified with, and may need long periods of time and introspection to find themselves again, to find a new goal. This strong attachment may also apply to friends and people they look up to, but this strong aversion to judgement and change in their point of view can make them rather volatile. At their best, they are willing, helpful and friendly. At their worst, they can be inflexible and antagonistic.

Bards will often find their Aspect in the cause they follow, and identify strongly with what it conveys, which only makes it harder for them to see beyond and consider other options. They will share their point of view with others in an attempt to make them see the same way they do. Because of this, the effectiveness of a Bard in a group is wholly determined by who their companions are, and the cause they are fighting for. They may as easily lay back and let others take care of things while they focus on what they deem truly important, as they may take direct action to defend their point of view and crush their foes. They are whimsical and hard to predict in combat, but sometimes the difference between victory and defeat may just be the group’s Bard deciding to take action.

Being one of the Destroyer Classes, Bards are the Passive counterpart to the Princes, and similar to them, their strengths lie in Destroying things. Reducing, Erasing, Eliminating, if it needs to be toned down or removed, a Bard is the appropriate choice to do so. They’re proficient at hampering the ability of their foes to properly fight back, and supporting those they are fighting alongside with against anything, but a Bard may also channel their Aspect for destructive purposes, or directly destroy it. Volatile as they are, sometimes all a team needs to do to win, is a little bit of trust placed on the Wildcard.

Role of the Destroyer - The Prince

Those born with the Role of the Prince are trapped in an internal struggle. They consider themselves capable, intelligent, reliable, and they likely are. However, their strong personalities and sets of values tend to make them impose themselves upon others. As figures or authority, or merely taking charge of the situation, a Prince’s biggest flaw is their ego. Thinking they can do it better or that they know better can be quite harmful and detrimental to their relationships with others, and with themselves. From holding themselves to too high standards, to pushing others too hard thinking they’re merely helping them out, Princes must find the internal balance between being egotism and self-deprecation, but if they manage to strike the right spot, they can become just as capable as they let on, while showing care, appreciation and devotion like no other. At their best, they’re diligent, skilled and hard to break. At their worst, they can be toxic, rude and arrogant.

Princes may find a relation between their struggle with their ego and their Aspect, making it yet another facet they need to come to terms with. Restricting themselves too much, and they will become stressed, unhappy, and destroy themselves. Too permissive and lenient with their more toxic behaviors, and they will become domineering, overwhelming, and destroy those they care about. For better or worse, Princes are a powerful destructive force, and must be careful how they handle themselves. Once everything clicks into place and they find their balance, however, they can become an unstoppable force to fight for their cause, an overwhelming power directed only towards that which they do intend to harm.

Being one of the Destroyer Classes, Princes are the Active counterpart to the Bards, and similar to them, their strengths lie in Destroying things. Reducing, Deleting, Erasing their Aspect or through the use of their Aspect, they tend to be powerful combatants capable of dealing devastating blows upon their enemies. They find it most comfortable and easy to exploit their Aspect in order to destroy the obstacles right in front of them, blunt, able to have an immense direct impact in a strife. Beware of getting on the wrong side of a Prince, for few obstacles remain untouched in their path.

Role of the Master - The Muse

Those born with the Role of the Muse are marked by martyrdom. They may feel at times that the world is out for them, even if they have done nothing wrong, they blame themselves for others’ actions and for their own inaction. But while they may dwell in self-deprecation and acceptance of the cruel world, a Muse’s life needn’t be surrounded by misery.  Their biggest strength are their friends, their love, the ties they form with them and how they express themselves. They are talented and amicable, understanding of others, and if allowed to blossom, their love for others and their interests knows no bounds. And just as their friends are inspired by them and seek to remain together, a Muse may need to trust their friends and accept their help to fully mature and escape a less than desirable situation. At their best, they are creative, encouraging and easy to get along with. At their worst, they can be solitary, pessimistic, and actively suppress their own emotions.

Muses are shaped by their Aspect as much as their Aspect is shaped by them. Their environment and others hold an intense force over them, which may at times seem oppressive, yet at the same time, this can be a source of inspiration and strength for them. If backed up by their friends, or with enough conviction, a Muse can exert as much force back into their environment as it does on them. Their ideals, their thoughts, their actions, resonate with everyone they know, as if a tug-of-war between the forces of the world trying to shape them, against their own power to make things as they want to. Even if a Muse feels useless and like they aren’t contributing to anything in their team, they needn’t worry, as their mere presence evokes a powerful drive upon everyone they know.

Being one of the Master Classes, Muses are the most Passive Class on the spectrum, as opposed to the Lord. And much like them, a Muse’s strengths lie in Commanding. Their Aspect exerts a powerful force over them that shapes the Muse’s world, so much so they may come to Embody the very forces of their Aspect. Inspiring those around them through the forces of their Aspect and their interactions with it and with them, their very presence exerts power, and everything they do is influenced in just the same way. A Muse should be careful not to embrace martyrdom, however, it’s in their nature to be self-sacrificial to aid those around them, and while this may be a way, their presence is always appreciated, if not outright needed in their group. Never wrong a Muse, for even at their worst, they are never truly alone.

Role of the Master - The Lord

Those born with the Role of the Lord are marked by power. They are a powerful and influential force on their environments and everyone they know. Whether by birthright or through hard work, Lords have earned, or will eventually earn a position of dominion over that which they desire. They are privileged, and for this, their biggest enemy is their own hubris. They may think everything is always meant to go their way, and take reckless risks or become conceited, yet the world always pushes back against someone who abuses their influence blatantly. With great power comes great responsibility, and this too is true of Lords, no matter how in control they think they are. At their best, they are persistent leaders with the power to lead themselves and others towards greatness, with the power to shape their future as they want. At their worst, they can be oppressive, egomaniacal abusers of their power.

Lords hold an intense power over their Aspect, to the point they may in some cases shape it to an extent. They may consider themselves to be in a permanent position of leadership, but they should be careful about their actions. A Lord’s situation may pit those around them against their cause, if they exert their power too forcefully as to overwhelm and impose themselves, even those they may consider their friends could turn their backs. They can be a group’s greatest asset, and yet with such power, they can easily become tyrannical with both the Aspect they have influence on, and the people they exert their power on.

Being one of the Master Classes, Lords are the most Active Class on the spectrum, as opposed to the Muse. And much like them, a Lord’s strengths lie in Commanding. They Rule, they Command over their Aspect with enough force to bend its will to suit them. They will always be favored by the very forces of nature they are in control of, and while this doesn’t mean they are untouchable or indestructible, it gives them an immense advantage. Their control of their Aspect is unparalleled, to the point their very rule may shape the reality surrounding them. Be careful if you’re opposed to a Lord, for their reign is absolute.

Your class quiz was really well done and very comprehensive! I really enjoyed it and I thought my result fit me! I got sylph btw! Its definitely the most canon class quiz out there at the moment!

Awww thank you! :D That’s extremely appreciated because even after publishing it I wasn’t 100% sure if I had done a good job, but I’ve been getting some really nice words about it!

Hey, I really love over the top classpect analysis (especially @revolutionary-duelist) and this blog seems really awesome! I wanted to ask what your thoughts on the Blood aspect are, considering that they're one of the least explicitly explored within homestuck canon. (And because the new True Sign test said that's what I am, which makes a lot of sense even though I hadn't considered it before!)

Hey there, and thank you very much! :D A lot of my analysis coincides with Taz’s so you may not hear a lot new regarding Classpects if you know his Analysis.

Blood, though, it’s definitely an interesting Aspect. Its ties to relationships, bonds, becomes obvious with things such as the Signless’ relationship with the Disciple or Karkat’s constant rambling about Quadrants and his out-of-Quadrant feelings. Interactions between characters, but also literally Blood, as we see with both the Vantases’ red blood and the focus on the Hemospectrum both Kankri and the Signless have.

Speaking of that, though, there’s also another thing Blood may touch upon, and that’s bloodlines maybe? The Signless was able to see what happened on Beforus and created his doctrine of a peaceful Troll Society from there. Given the ‘self’ is more the territory of Heart, it could be that Blood makes reference to ‘family’ ties, people sharing your own blood, relatives, parents, and other selves. But that’s just speculation.

Honestly, all I want from Blood is that I would’ve loved seeing a Blood Player attacking with like, the Homestuck Equivalent of Blood Magic. Just spikes of rainbow colored blood and boiling blood and I think I am just describing a fantasy of Kanaya am I not.

Hey, just wanted to say thanks for creating a class quiz, I'm SUPER into it, and it's really nice to have now that there's more aspect stuff coming out--this was a great project and I'm glad you put in the effort to do it! I do have some comments tho if you're open to feedback. On the question with a direct message from an internet troll, I'd like to see an option to ignore them. On "relationship with those you love" the options are very similar-- (1/4)

adding a little more text to make them easier to distinguish would help the choice be more meaningful. In the question “you have a solution to a problem” the answer starting with “you insist” involves the least insistence; I’d swap the wording with “you try to change their mind some more”. On “A friend has shared info” the wording “you realize it’s not too well known of an issue” is a bit convoluted. Maybe try “you see most people have not heard about the issue” or similar? (2/4)

Also the use of “to minimize the issue” feels like dismissing the importance of the issue, I think “to mitigate the issue” would work better. The “something needs to be done” question I really like and I really like the answer options. For “a friend of yours has been acting strange” one of the responses looks for “a more concise answer” but I think means “a more satisfying answer.” In the question “during a competition…” one of the (¾)

responses includings “it was mean to leave them behind and apologize” probably meant “and you apologize.” In the question “When it comes to your interests…” one answer starts “dabble into them extensively,” but dabble generally implies less depth, I’d say “dive into them”. Thanks again for making the quiz, its got me questioning my own classpect which is probably a good thing. (4/4)

———————————————————————————————————–

Hey there! I’m glad you enjoyed the test, and I will take constructive criticism on some things! However, there’s a big issue with changing any of the questions. In some, maybe I could use some better wording or change the way the sentence is presented, but if you think there’s an option that’s missing, that’s deliberate, and the Neutral Answer is there for you to click.

See, the way I constructed the test, is that every single Question is comparing Classes. It is true that in some could use more answers or more distinct answers- But they’re intentionally made to evoke the personality traits of the specific Classes they’re describing, which makes some options that should be logically there, just be missing entirely because, they just don’t fit the comparison I’m presenting in that specific question.

About rewriting questions and such and making them more clear, I’ll see about it in the future, but honestly I burnt myself out on Question-writing and I’d very much like to not touch Quotev in at least a few days if I can help it.

Hello! Do you have any quizzes based for Aspect yet?

Oh, not at all and I don’t intend to make one! The Class Quiz was intended to be a supplementary, non-canon one to the canon Classpect one Hussie did! With his out there, I feel it’d be silly to make an Aspect Quiz as well.

I'm so happy you made that Class quiz! The answers to the questions were good, though for some I had to look up specific words (due to English not being my native language). Besides that, thanks to the quiz, I now know I am a Heir (of Life!) :D

No problem! That being said, if any of you don’t agree with the results of the test, remember this is just a fanon little fun thing and not like, a necessarily canon Class determining device.

Furthermore, as all Quizes are, they’re reductive, so if you’re interested in Class stuff, feel free to read the different Class thingies individually and see if there’s any that resonates with you, or if you’re okay with sticking to the one the test assigned to you.

Also there seems to be quite a bit more overlap than I was expecting with this test! Make sure when you get a Class that it’s not tied with some other, or use the other Classes that are nearby to get an idea of where you belong in the Class Spectrum.

Hey! I’m curious about what your take on the “Knights are the best at their aspect” thing. Because I feel very much like how you interpret a Knight, but the “Knights are the best even if they don’t realize it” has always pushed me away from Knight into being a Rogue. Also, what’s your take on inverse classes and how they relate to one another? Thanks! (PS I love your new class test thank you so much for making it!!)

Thank you, glad you enjoyed! As for “Knights are best at their Aspect”, that’s immediately false. Classes are more ‘versatile’ and hold more ‘impact’ on/with their Aspect, depending on which one it is, but you can’t possibly say that a single Class is the ‘best’ there is. Even the Page, widely considered to be the one able to draw the most raw power out of their Aspect, are still challenged by their slow development curve and whether they’re capable of doing so or not.

Classes and Aspects are heavily tied to someone’s personality, their drive, as well as the specific combination and the situation you’re in. Even if you’re talking in terms of raw combat, perhaps a Prince, a ‘Destroyer’, could be considered more combat-oriented than a Knight, and even then it depends on their level, their will to fight, why they are fighting and WHO they are up against.

I can see why people would imagine Knights to be the ‘best’ though, they’re the Givers that don’t have an outrageous difficulty curve. Giving, Using, Weaponizing, they’re adept at taking a hold of their Aspect- Yet, isn’t the Witch and the Heir, who Manipulate it, also candidates to be the ‘best’ at their Aspect?

As for how Inverse Classes relate to each other, I am assuming you mean Classes which are at the other end of the Verb and/or Active/Passive Spectrum. Calling them ‘inverse’ though, while not bad, definitely misses the point that Classes, like Aspects, are most likely complementary, and not opposite. They make a Whole together. A Thief Takes for Themselves, while a Knight Gives to Others. Both are two sides of the same coin- One who Takes gives to themselves, or to others, someone who Gives must have gotten it from somewhere in the first place.

The same is true for, say, a Sylph and a Prince. Creation for others, Destruction for oneself. Without Creation there’s no Destruction, without things being Made, a Destroyer would end up with nothing. The Class Spectrum is a balance of forces that allow the shaping of reality through the Aspects, which represent the various facets of reality. And as such, they all form part of something bigger. It’s in their interactions with others and with their environment that God Tier Powers shine, rather than the raw potential of a single Class/Aspect Combination.

That being said, if by ‘Inverse’ you meant two Classes with opposite Verbs who do the same function, such as a Thief stealing for themselves while a Page lets others give them things, I’ve had some people tell me that two Opposite Classes would do the same Function, or that, for example, a Prince or a Bard would Destroy their Aspect, making them the opposite Aspect, and that is completely false.

Functionally, there’s overlap with the Classes and they may do similar things, however? A person who is a Prince of Heart, even if they Destroy Heart, is still aligned with Heart and not with Mind. In the same way, a Page and a Thief, while functionally similar in simple terms, have extreme differences in personality, ability sets and ways of working in general. Regardless of your Class and how you interact with your Aspect, you may have a deeper affinity for said Aspect than with its opposite. And in the same way, regardless of what you do, each Class has a series of traits that make them unique and not interchangeable.

What’s your take on why the aspects are arranged in that order on the wheel (on the true sign test)? And why do you think the wheel is split where it is between purple and blue?

I’ve given it some thought and it seems to maybe be a little bit arbitrary? Blue-Purple is pleasant with the overall background from the website, they’re darker, cool colors, maybe they’re made to let the Aspects pop up more? Same about the order, aside from obviously having their complementary Aspect on the other end. It’s possible they started with Breath intending to have it be Breath-Light-Time-Space like the Beta Kids, before obviously being unable to do so and seeing as Time and Space have to be opposite, and then it threw the balance off entirely so they just winged it.

Or maybe there’s a further side to the Aspects we’re not seeing just yet and that relates them with each other in some intricate way. Who knows!

Something cool about the garbs, the page is missing pant legs, while the knight has an extra set of sleeves. Like their shirt has normal short sleeves without the extra, but the page has got only a banana hammock.

Theory: The Knight’s sleeves are the stolen, torn legs of the Page outfit.

This is a pretty interesting view at how people answer the Questions, and maybe where the mistakes in my Quiz are. Rogues and Muses seem to be way more relatable than they should be. In contrast, as expected, the Class people got the least is the Lord. Curiously enough, Seers, Bards and Thieves are rare as well, with Princes only beating them by a small margin.

Remember this Quiz is by no means perfect! If you don’t agree with your assigned Class, feel free to read others or the one you already identified with to see if it suits you better! I got both Time and Rage on the canon Aspect Quiz, but it was Doom’s description that resonated HEAVILY with me.

hey! im super sorry if you dont answer questions like this, but i was wondering if youd be able to explain how the aspect of mind would fit into the bard class? i can see how like. hope or rage would fit, but not necessarily others, including mind. tysm either way and i hope youre having a good day!!

It’s hard to tell, it depends on every individual, but in general I could see a devotion and passion for either intelligence or choice, perhaps an obsession with their public image and how they present themselves to others? They could also be really into whatever they did in the past and things they and people have done? There’s a wide range of possibility here.

Suppressing their choices or others’ choices, and perhaps direct mind-breaking or thought obfuscation, there’s also quite a few different ways Bard of Mind powers could manifest, but yeah it’s very personal and individual.

I’m having trouble with what makes a Lord different from a Witch, can you help?

I could see the trouble with the difference, Change and Command are similar, given the Manipulation connotations with Change.

The biggest differences between a Witch’s Change and a Lord’s Command, is the intensity, and their will.

A Witch pushes for a change they perceive is positive, they alter something or themselves to make it better, but they also suffer for these changes. There’s a balance of powers that push and pull, and they struggle with the will of something or someone regarding their Aspect.

A Lord, in turn, doesn’t necessarily alter things because they want to bring change or because they want to bring something they think is positive- They change things because they rule over them. They have gained full and absolute control, and their will, as such, isn’t at odds with that of their Aspect. Rather, their Aspect’s will reflects their own. And so they shape whatever they want and do whatever they want with it.

The Change Classes struggle to keep control, and their influence goes both ways, seeping into their environment, and being changed by their environment. But for the Lord, they expect things to favor them, once they have gained control, there’s no struggle against anything. They rule, and their Aspect obeys.

Where can I take your class quiz???

It’s over here. I posted this post linking to it yesterday, as well as like, 14 posts, one for each Class Description, with a link to the test itself.

Just curious, since you peg Knight as a passive class, what do you think about the theory that Sburb wants things to be balanced? Most of the time, I see theories with Knights as active, which then pushes the idea that Sburb wants things to be even. An even number of players on each moon. An even number of passive vs. active players. Do you kinda see what I'm saying? What's your take on that?

It’s an interesting take! You could definitely argue against the Knight’s Passivity or the Page’s Activity or a number of other Classes, until Hussie canonically states one or the other it’s all theories. However, the idea that SBURB wants things to be even crumbles immediately on the very first example you proposed.

I can imagine the rule of being ‘even’ to be like a lot else in SBURB. Classes being divided into Active and Passive but not necessarily being reflective of the Players’ actions 100% of the time, exceptions. And with the number of players on each moon, you have a Canon Example. Aradia, being Dead at the beginning of the Session, lacks a tower, and Sollux, who’s the Special Duality Boy, gets one on each Moon. The result is still a combined 12 Towers, but it leaves 7 Dream Selves on the Prospit Moon, and 5 on the Derse Moon ( With a dormant 6th in the Crypt of Derse ).

SBURB does seem to favor wanting to even things out with a lot of stuff, but canon shows us it doesn’t necessarily have to be that way.

What would you say are the main differences in personality between a Knight and a Rogue? Because from what I'm seeing, they're both selfless and put their friends before them. Like, yeah, I get that Knights use their aspect to help others while Rogues give their aspect to others, but like, personality-wise what do you think sets them apart?

Knights present themselves as reliable, and may step out of their comfort and skill zone to keep that impression, that expectation of themselves that they must be there for their friends. They HAVE to help those they care about, and will push themselves to their limits to the point of it being detrimental for their own well being.

Rogues, on the other side, don’t necessarily have expectations of themselves as high as Knights do, and their social circles can be more specific, smaller but more intense than that of a Knight’s. Additionally, while Rogues care heavily about their friends, stress and being in a bad spot will make them isolate themselves and try to shut out reality, which can be detrimental to these relationships.

In general, Rogues don’t push themselves as hard and may lessen contact when going through a bad spot, while Knights will, quite opposite to them, need validation from their peers to the point of harming themselves in the process. This is all a big generalization though and there is overlap with these as well as some other Classes. If none of the above, or a bit of both, apply to you, well you’re a complex and nuanced person that just may not fit into a single Archetype! Choosing one or the other because you think the powers or the outfit are cooler is completely valid.

John did a very good job showing off some of his classes defensive powers; turning into the wind and even having the breeze mask his scent! I can see how this would work with some aspects; a Light heir with a holographic/after image effect, a Space heir just teleporting the damage elsewhere, or a Heart heir becoming an intangible spirit.... But how do you think this works out for a Heir of Blood, or Doom? Rage?

Well to understand how something like this works for each Aspect, it helps knowing exactly WHAT is happening when John poofs into Wind! As one of the Change Classes, manipulating their Aspect, John seems to allow his body to Change into an embodiment of his Aspect, he loses physicality and poofs into wind completely. Curiously enough though, this is true even of his Retcon Powers, whenever John goes back to Change things, it begins with a glow on his body- He’s the means through which the Change happens in the Timeline.

So for Light? Yeah, a Heir or even a Witch of Light would likely be able to fade into Light in the same way, dissolve into photons in a flash and reform elsewhere. And a Heir of Space would likely have a set of abilities similar to Jade’s, so they may allow a change of their proportions, their size or their position to avoid attacks, effectively avoiding damage through a Change on their self.

Blood may be the most straight forward of the ones you mentioned, as it has a very real and not abstract analogue on literal Blood. So I could see a Heir of Blood melting into a puddle of blood on the ground, losing physicality just like John does, and draining away from the combat to reform somewhere else.

If Rage and Doom can have this same ability, however, depends entirely on what the Heir considers to be Rage and Doom. For the Captors, for example, their Psionics come with their own fair share of Doom, they’re powerful psychic powers that can damage them if they overuse them, and get out of control under the use of certain substances. So maybe someone like Mituna literally faded into a spark of his own psychic red and blue powers before reforming, but maybe another Heir of Doom could crumble into dust, or lightning perhaps?

Rage is an even more complicated one as it seems deeply related to concepts rather than anything physical. What does a Heir of Rage turn into? Black smoke? Chucklevoodoos? Faygo?

Well, maybe? Yes? All of those? Because the thing about Classes and Aspects and their relationship with each other is that they’re designed, much like most of SBURB, to give an unique and personal experience to the Players. Classes and Aspects seem to share similarities among the players, and there’s some key concepts and powers they all use, but that doesn’t mean anything else has to be universal. Maybe not every Heir can turn into their Aspect. Hell, maybe not every Heir of Breath can poof into Wind, because they just do not change themselves for whatever reason.

So when you ask how I think it’d work for these Aspects? I think it would be something like that. But someone else may think differently. And that opinion is what makes the exact same Class and Aspect combination still feel unique between people, and what makes it fun and exciting to see new interpretations and fanart and talk about power sets.

What's the difference between the Mage and Sylph classes?

Are the Mage and Sylph Classes that similar? Sylphs are meddlesome, work for the benefit of others, isolate themselves from those they don’t quite trust or have much of a relationship with, and are part of the Creation Classes, Making, Repairing, Improving.

Mages have an idea of how things work and good natural insight and instincts, they feel bad when the world around them doesn’t change as they’ve seen or fits their predicted vision. They’re teachers, they Know and Guide, they perform Miracles with their knowledge.

I guess the Sylphs have rich inner worlds with their own dreams and thoughts, and Mages have nice insight and a view of the world, which was what you were asking about difference-wise? But there’s quite a lot of differences, they don’t even fall in the same Passive/Active alignment.

What would happen if a God Tier Prince of Blood went grimdark? Would they have the potential to fuck up the session for everyone? Also what powers would they have and how destructive do you think they would get? (Sorry for the long question, love your work! ♡)

Thank you! But this is really hard to answer because, it’s hard to say what Grimdarkness ACTUALLY does? The only example we have is Rose, swayed towards the Void- But she was a Light Player and Void is its opposite, so, does it sway you to the Void because Horroterrors? Or does it sway you to your Opposite? And what more does it do? Rose acts more directly than she would’ve otherwise, she’s given power and she goes to Bec Noir- But she already was predisposed to go fuck his shit up after seeing her mother die. Does it make you act out your impulses and make you more Active, then?

Furthermore, is Grimbarkness ALSO Grimdarkness? It’s called similarly, but there’s no Void Swaying of the Horrorterrors for Jade, instead she just becomes more aggressive, has her powers amplified, and acts without a filter, mean and blunt.

So the Prince is one of the most Active Classes, they’re a Destoyer. Already predisposed to fucking shit up, it’s hard to imagine them getting more Active than that unless they started to act like a Lord itself, which is hard to imagine. Then you have the Aspect- Would you keep the Blood Aspect, or Embrace the Void?

Whichever the case, though, a More Active, More Blunt, More Instinctual Prince of anything could be a disastrous combination, let alone of Blood. By the mere disposition of Destroying Bonds, their attitude may seriously harm their relationships with other members of the group. Other than that, they’d either have their Blood Powers very amplified, or they’d embrace the Void, and being a Destroyer of Void is not exactly good for anyone. Not only may they channel the Horrorterror’s Powers as their own and do all sorts of Eldritch shit to tear the Session apart, a cool thing that could be thematically fitting, would be breaking the bond with the Horrorterrors- Destroying the Void- But keeping the state of Grimdarkness as a thirst for power.

I mean this is all speculation though, but there’s a lot of cool stuff that could happen in a situation like this!

what kind of powers would a sylph of time have?

I feel you guys are having me building your Fansessions! :p The fun part about God Tier roles is that you can make up what their powers can be. I can only point in the general direction by stating what is already obvious- A Sylph, who Makes, Heals, Improves, and is Passive, with Time as their Aspect.

Obviously mending the Timeline and maybe aiding Doomed Timelines not be so Doomed, maybe healing Through Time, as in travelling back before the wound was actually there, ‘Making’ time by extending it and effectively freezing something or someone in place (Think Aradia freezing Bec Noir and LE in Time), that sort of stuff. But part of the fun is giving these power sets your own flair and personal style!

That being said I just thought of a really great idea for a Sylph of Time- Making Time, right? You know in Dragon Ball, the Hyperbolic Time Chamber? I imagine a Sylph of Time may be able to make an area something similar to that, a Bubble where Time flows differently, giving them and their team some extra time to heal up, get ready and train before a big battle, or effectively making long, dragged Battles happen in this Time Bubble so that it happened way faster to any observer beyond the Bubble, giving everyone more time to actually beat the game before the Reckoning happens. I just thought that’d be cool.

But seriously guys! Whatever you feel your Classpect does, it most likely can do! They’re personalized power sets after all. Not that I don’t enjoy answering these though, it’s fun to think about them and seeing what you guys think other Classpects’ powers could be.

What do you reckon a Seer of Void, your inverse, might be able to do. I already have a general idea, but I’m sure your thoughts on it would be interesting. (Just figured I’d ask while you’re answering questions like it)

Contrary to what you may think because of my icon, I’m actually a Seer of Doom! The Light symbol is just convenient to encompass Knowledge and Information, so it makes sense for a blog like this. That being said, a Seer of Void would be an intriguing Classpect.

First of all there’s the possibility of them being a cultist or acolyte of sorts for the Horrorterrors, knowing all about them and the Furthest Ring, perhaps even up to the point of being able to Navigate it with the information they gather.

Another facet of their powers could be Knowing that which is Obscured, Unknowable. The Dark Spots that cloud even Doc Scratch’s vision? That’d be their area of expertise. Information that has been Voided Out, Viewports that black out, erased, unavailable and forbidden information, they would be able to decipher the most obscure and impossible of codes.

Either that, or they’d do like Jon Snow and Know Nothing.

What do you think a Mage of time would be up to doing? If you have the time to answer of course.

Oooh this one could be a cool one. They’d have instinctual knowledge about important events in the Timeline, perhaps where splits to Doomed Timelines happen and such, as well as knowing exactly when to go back and forth in Time to do anything, and an ease to close Time Loops.

However an interesting aspect of Mages is them not liking immutability. If their ideal doesn’t match what is supposed to happen, there will be distress. Sollux shows this heavily, with how opposed he is to him and everyone around him being Doomed, and not wanting to be unable to prevent it.

And Time of all things in Homestuck is very harsh and immutable. The Alpha beckons, and a Mage of Time may be extremely conflicted. They know how the Timeline is going to be shaped, they know when something is going to happen, but as it’s the nature of Time, Change doesn’t come easily.

can i hear a bit about what you think a page of light might be? :o

Someone who is served Light by others, I could see their naivety maybe influencing others to think they’re a liiittle bit dumb? Making them serve them Knowledge and explaining everything around them. Oh God, that doesn’t sound good at all, imagine if every one of your teammates was like Aranea.

Alternatively, others may serve you Relevance and Fortune, literally working to make you money and putting you in the spotlight again and again. Which… Again doesn’t sound too pleasant, it sounds like a Page of Light’s friends would be quite pushy with them.

However, much in the same way Jake becomes a literal beacon of Hope in the Session, a Page of Light would have the potential to radiate Light. Becoming a well of knowledge with time, amassing an immeasurable fortune, and becoming the most important person of their entire story. Using weapons of solid light, likely lasers as well- God I can imagine Jake’s Hope Bubble but instead it’s a god damn lasershow of spinning beams of searing light.

Noice! I’m thinking of ways to do a Sburb tabletop rpg (probably using Fate Core rules) and it’s fun thinking of ways to turn classpect powers into game mechanics.

Oooh, God a SBURB Tabletop has to be a PAIN to talk about, between the Alchemiter, Fraymotifs, prototyping things and people’s Classpects, there’s so many variables to take into account about how the Players shape the Session itself.

What method do you think is best for figuring out ones god-tier aspect? I've taken various quizzes but, a sylph or rouge of doom doesn't really seem like me...

Introspection, really. See if you resonate with the personality or story of one of the Characters in Homestuck, with their power sets… Check the Classes and Aspects individually to see if there’s any of the descriptions you think fit you the most. Ask your friends too what they think about you and what Character they correlate you with the most! But in general, the only one that can truly decide your Class and Aspect is yourself.

ive seen you do some of these, and i really love your interpretations of godtier abilities. if you dont mind doing another one, what sort of things do you think a mage of mind would be able to do?

Thank you! Really, as I said, I’m just taking the explanations I wrote for the Quiz based on @revolutionaryduelist‘s interpretations, and thinking what they would be most proficient at.

Now, Mages and Seers are similar enough to have some overlap with Terezi’s powers, the ability to know the Choices they have taken and the outcomes of the Choices they will take is a good starting point for a Mage of Mind! However, where Terezi’s vision was concerned with outcomes regarding her friends ending dead and how she was supposed to stop this from happening, or guiding John to fix the mess of a Timeline they were in, a Mage’s vision would be more concerned with Choices that affect their own personal outcome and influence their lives.

They may also be able to see past someone’s facade, lies told by someone and fabricated personalities would crumble before them, as they find out their true intent. Also, being more adept at Miracles than Seers are, if you put the example of Terezi, rather than sending John to fix the Timeline with their guide, they would’ve went fix the Timeline themselves, if possible.

They may be even more susceptible to having a falling out from grace and dwelling in their mistakes than Terezi, though, the immutability of the world around her, of the Timeline, really fucked her riiiiiiight up, and Mages are prone to being even more volatile like this. They’d try to see the Third Choice, they’d try with all their might to lead their path the way they want, the way it should be, and be devastated when the Timeline proves, once again, that it’s completely unfair and dickish to the people just trying to live their lives.

After doing many tests I got being a Page (still waiting for the official test though) of first mainly Blood but the new test gave me Life, I'm quite curious about your view on this mix~ (Btw love your fantastic blog, keep up the good work, you're really amazing <3)

Thank you! :D Seems like people really love getting fuck deep in Classpect Exposition huh.

If a Page of Blood, bonds between people, friendship, may be your forte. People would want to be your friend, serve you Friendship or even a relationship with them. It may also mean your family would help you out- Served through blood ties-, or even that someone tries to strengthen you up by beating you up…? You know. Making you Bleed to Serve you. Yeah that doesn’t- That doesn’t sound good. Let’s hope that’s no the case. With improvement and time, I could see a Page of Blood being an outstanding leader of a group, amassing friendship and people that care about them, think of Undertale and how every single NPC in the game shows up to back you up at the end. On top of that, with the literal meaning of Blood, you get to weaponize your own Blood and maybe the Blood of your foes? Blood Magic ahoy!

If a Page of Life, instead, you would be Served Life. Agency, likely being allowed to do anything you want by those around you with little restriction, as well as having all Living Things Serve you. Animals, and maybe even Plants would come to your aid. With time and improvement, a Page of Life would be unparalleled on their abilities. Serving themselves Life constantly sounds to me like someone getting quick regenerative abilities. Using nature itself to your advantage, and similarly, being an excellent Healer to those you want to heal. Alternative, you may be able to weaponize pastries- WAIT IS DAD A KNIGHT OF LIFE? Is that why he’s always using Cakes in combat… The even more terrifying Alternative is that you would be served… Babies? Tricksters were already terrifying enough as they were, no thanks.

Hey what do you think a sylph of breath's powers would be??

If they’re not the leader of a Session, they would be close to the Leader. Improving them and helping them actually be capable and competent, at leading the group, maybe sort of like a secretary kind of deal? Given Sylphs are meddlesome, I could definitely see it like, getting deep into the issues that plague the group and doing their best to not let it get out of control.

Improving and Making Breath also sounds like they’d be able to generate wind currents, as well as breathe underwater with no difficulty, ‘making’ oxygen for themselves and for others, or maybe even going around in a Wind Bubble underwater!

Additionally, there’s two interesting details about Breath- Freedom and the Plot. A Sylph of Breath would be the most likely candidate to Free those around them from… Something. Literal incarceration, the lack of Freedom inherent to the Alpha Timeline, they would be the one to Free others from whatever is oppressing them. And in a similar way in a more Meta sense, they would be the ones making sure the story doesn’t get too silly, and that the core events of the narrative happen as they should. No Caliborn messing around with Stardust or anyone taking over the narrative when a Sylph of Breath’s had enough!

Homestuck Class Quiz

Since the post’s been getting a lot of notes and I’ve seen some criticism about the way I constructed it, let me explain a few things about my process when it came to making it!

First of all, ‘some Questions are biased towards certain Answers’, that is sadly true. There’s some Answers that are more universally liked that people are going to choose more, and it’s what it’s driving so many people towards being Rogue and Muse- However I should also state, knowing how I made the test and seeing a bunch of people ALSO get Lord means the system works just fine. Let me explain:

The intent was that the answers would be biased, for the people holding the personality traits that make the different Classes. Rogues and Muses, when they’re good and positive, are very pleasant to be around and what a lot of people aspire to be to in a group. However, while a bigger portion of people is going to lean this way, simply because of morality, people with Lord-y or Thief-y tendencies will resonate away from these answers and onto the others. So to some people it may seem biased towards certain answers, but it’s precisely this divide that strikes the difference between one Class and another.

The second thing I’ve seen is that some of the Questions seem to imply a very similar thing, but worded differently- And this is completely deliberate for the very same reason. Some Classes, SPECIALLY if they share the same Verb, can react very similarly to the same situation, and in a case like this, their instincts, the immediate response before thinking it any further, and the order in which they do things, rather than what they do, is what determines the difference between one and the other.

That’s why the Neutral Answer is there, if you do not resonate with any of the responses, you likely don’t have much affinity to the Classes the Question is trying to compare, and as such, can’t choose between them because you wouldn’t lean towards any one of them.

I do agree some Questions could be better however, and the Muse/Lord divide is heavily biased towards the Muse- But it’s not because of the way the Questions are constructed, sadly. It’s just- Lords are all about holding absolute control, power and agency, about being the one to Command. By nature, something like this is kind of difficult to imagine without the risk of abusing your power or becoming an oppressive authority, so of course more people are going to lean towards Muses.

No Class is necessarily a Saint, and no Class is necessarily Evil, but some of them are more naturally predisposed to a way of not being good, and others to another, and people seem to resonate more with the Classes that are less capable of being awful at their worst, and more towards the… Self-deprecating, isolationist ones.

Hum... Sorry to bother, but may I ask what do you think a Maid of Void and a Mage of Void would be able to do? I'm torn between those two classes, and somewhat bothered by not being able to do anything.

I answered yesterday about what a Seer of Void could do, and it should be similar enough! Insight and Knowledge about the Unknowable, finding forbidden Knowledge and piercing the veil of obscurity Void Players cast over their Sessions and over information, knowing about Horrorterrors… A Mage, however, being more Active and more predisposed towards making stuff Happen, may more easily get some Eldritch powers as well, maybe be more prone to going Grimdark than a Seer of Void? For some reason, I’m getting an Occultist vibe from Darkest Dungeon.

The Maid of Void would Increase, Improve and Heal Void… Okay, Increasing Void, you can takes this figuratively by making them make the Session black out more and more, perhaps making the Session Void themselves by not prototyping anything, or… You could take it literally as in, making a Black Hole bigger? Increasing the amount of Nothingness between two things- Wait if you increase the Nothingness between two things, do the things get further apart OR do they get closer? Both? Also, Making Void could be seen as disintegrating or erasing something, Making it into Void.

They may increase their Void as well which, yeah sounds a lot like being able to go Grimdark nearly at will. It would also be cool to Make Void as in, Make a Horrorterror, or Summon One to the Session in some way. Of course, they would also make Obscurity and Irrelevancy- They would lie a lot to hide their intentions, they’d keep important information from others as they see fit, and make themselves or others seem Harmless until the right moment. Oooh that could be interesting- A Maid of Void, struggling with the way their irrelevance makes them not all that important, kept in the backlines, seemingly harmless, and then one day they just snap and go Grimdark, and everything around them regrets having ever wronged them.

This fits thematically well with Making Nothing or Improving Nothing and Healing Nothing, at their worst they could be seen as a completely useless team member that does literally nothing at all, only to come back full force with powers from the Dark Gods and ready to fuck things up.

What do you think a Sylph of Rage and a Maid of Hope would be like, what powers would they have?

A Sylph of Rage would Make Rage, but also Heal Rage. They may be ragefully try to dismantle a system built on lies, or they may try to pacify people, depends on the context. Improving and Increasing Rage would also mean they can go Berserk, or perhaps more likely make others go Berserk, induce irate, wrath-fuelled states on people. They may ALSO Heal THROUGH Rage, which means they would be the angry mom friend. “I’m going to be stupid and go risk my life out there-” And then they just scoot up to them, slap them in the face and give them a stern look. “No. No you aren’t.”

A Maid of Hope would Make Hope for themselves, Increase Hope, Heal Hope/With Hope… Good Faith and Believing in something, maybe believing in themselves and trusting they can push through. ‘Healing through Hope’ sounds like they could will Healing into being through just believing someone will get better or prayer, they’re starting to sound like a RPG Priest kind of character! Making others Believe in them, spreading their point of view…

For some ungodly reason, my mind just went to Moira and Mercy, even though I’m not sure if they fit completely, the visual motifs are assaulting me heavily here.

I feel like I might piss you off, hopefully not but, I’ve read your post about the Rogue and I fully understand it. My question is, how would a Rogue of Light benefit/use their powers?

That heavily depends on the Rogue! Light as a Concept is very broad, Fortune, Knowledge, Fate, Information, Truth, Relevancy, depending on the context there could be a bunch of interpretations. Imagine if Vriska wasn’t actually a power gaming asshole most of the time and actually tried to help others for more than for just her sense of superiority. A Robin Hood-esque scenario stealing Fortune and sharing it across the group, increasing everyone’s Luck rather than just their own, taking intel about the Session and the Alpha Timeline and sharing it with others instead of crafting a plan that doesn’t even end up working properly. And of course putting the group in the spotlight rather than stealing it for themselves.

Remember though that Rogues aren’t ‘good and selfless’ and Thieves ‘bad and selfish’. Rogues can take for themselves much like Thieves do, but they’re more predisposed to working with the Team, and even that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re good. Forcefully distributing Relevancy or Information to those that don’t want it or need it, and putting people in the Spotlight, can be a detriment for some, and ‘Stealing Light’ could also mean learning information someone is trying to keep secret and spreading it around, tearing the team apart slowly. When I talk about the powers of the Classes I tend to focus on the good stuff, but sometimes I leave the bad stuff aside, and given Rogues are the most common class my Quiz gives, I thought it’d be important to remind everyone, even a Rogue can do their fair amount of damage.

How would a thief of time work And what would their powers be?

Stealing Time, they may figuratively borrow other’s time, as in, use them to get what they need even if they have to distract others from their own tasks. Literally though, Stealing Time could be an interesting power. They may take things from offshot timelines to further their Timeline, and they may be able to make Time Skip to-

Wait.

Stealing Time, making the Timeline Skip-

OH.

And yes, that’s a motherfucking Jojo Reference.

You analysis on classes is honestly the best I've seen. Thank you so much for putting in such effort with all these answers for everyone. What sort of powers do you think a knight of hope would have? Seeing as hope is one of those odd aspects that isn't entirely physical?

Awww, no I should be the one to thank y’all guys for being interested in what I do in this blog! Admittedly I’d appreciate questions other than just Classpect stuff, but Classpects are heavily interesting.

That being said, a Knight of Hope would Serve others through Hope, which could mean a variety of things. Using Hope to Serve others could literally mean believing in people, and perhaps, much like how Jake so much in Brain Ghost Dirk that he became physical, just their desire to protect others would empower them and lead them to Victory. They may also Serve Hope, as in literally fight and work their asses off to ensure no one falls prey to Despair, and that everyone gets what they want.

Hope is seen as physical energy though! The white light radiating from Jake seems to be Raw Hope, so imagine like… A Knight determined to protect their friends so much that, I don’t know. Their eyes start to glow white and wisps of Hope Energy begin enveloping their body, enveloping them like a Holy Armor of sorts, maybe even with Wings, ready to fight for what they believe in. That would be rad as fuck.

Speaking of which, Angels are heavily Hope Coded as well, so maybe they can summon Angels to protect themselves and those around them? Hope’s always a fun Aspect to toy with.

How about heir of void? Like equius, like what’s your take on his true potential? Love the quiz btw <3

Thank you! :D Once again though it depends on how we see Void. Equius lost himself to the will of his Aspect, he couldn’t Nothing about his attitude towards Gamze Changed, and as such, he faded into Irrelevancy, dying at his hands and coming to Embody Void. His very Blood used as a means of obscuring information. But had he managed to overcome things, first of all, Equius may have been able to control his strength, Changing his way of gripping things maybe?

Similarly, Changing through Void could mean a plethora of things. Perhaps through inaction, through doing nothing at all, he could’ve willed a Change in people or in himself. Or perhaps he could’ve changed Irrelevancy, and countered Vriska’s powers stealing the Spotlight to ensure those she stole the Spotlight from could actually resurface and become relevant again.

And while not really linked much to Equius, given the ties between Void and the Horrorterrors, they could definitely Change a Heir of Void, influence them and make the ‘Change’ Heirs are supposed to go through be transforming them into an emissary of their Will, not unlike Rose going Grimdark. But Equius never seemed to have anything to do with Horrorterrors- Maybe because of his shades?

Hi! Might I just say that it’s astounding, all the work you’re putting into analyzing all of these Classpects. It’s pretty amazing. Do you mind if I ask how a Rogue of Mind would work, as well as maybe Heir of Time?

No problem! It really is nothing, again, I’m just saying an overall sort of vibe I get from Classpect stuff! Let’s see though.

A Rogue of Mind may, for one, steal ideas someone else had for their Team. Imagine a villain has this tactic or strategy they’ve used against the Rogue in the past, and the Rogue decides to take this strategy and adapt it to their Team, giving them a taste of their own medicine! They may be able to ‘Steal Minds’ literally as in, gather information from people’s thoughts, read minds, maybe even literally take those thoughts away. They may also take Choice away from others, choose for them, either because they think it’s something that would benefit the team if they did it, regardless of the desires of the person who was supposed to choose, or because they want to be held accountable for the result of said Choice, rather than leaving someone else to be responsible.

A Heir of Time… First of all, just as time passes they may change, as in, maybe they had an opinion or a point of view but as time passes and they reflect on it, it changes. They may also change their point of view because of something they saw with Time Loops or Doomed Timelines. But they may also Change the Timeline themselves, correcting it however they’d think it’s beneficial. If they have the same poofing Mechanism John has with the windy thing, they may warp back or forwards in time when they get surprise attacked, and modify the flow of time to make things go bullet time or to speed themselves up! They would struggle with the Will of Time itself, binding them and making them follow the Alpha, making them complete Time Loops, trying to drag them as nothing more than a tool for things to Happen, and either succumb to this fate, or some event in the Timeline would let them push forward, overcome what Fate seemingly has in store for them, and change the future for good.

what powers do you think a Prince of Blood would have,?

I thought I answered this one already but it seems I only talked about a Prince of Blood going Grimdark. Hmm.

As I mentioned though, breaking bonds with their friends may be a problem, as much of a problem as using their friends for destructive purposes. Both could be easily achieved, and if they want to be good, they should be careful to not put themselves or their friends in a bad spot.

That aside? Prince of Blood, the Destroyer of Blood and one who Destroys through Blood, I could see both using Blood as a Weapon, and maybe attacking someone’s Blood directly? Like, either their weapons are all weapons that cause bleeding, or their powers work to literally boil someone’s blood from the inside out, which is Metal as FUCK.

Conversely, a Prince of Blood could destroy a villains plans through the power of Friendship, so befriending your enemy could work?
