Caesar Clown from One Piece is a Maid of Breath

Still gotta catch up with One Piece.

Do you classpect others? Like a real person?

Eh, I’ve Classpected friends in private and Youtube Celebrities to make Fanart for their GT Classes, but I tend to stray away from hyper specific analysis of people. If they come like “Oh, what would this kind of person fit?” I can usually just say a Classpect or Two, but if someone starts to narrate their whole life events for me to Classpect them, it feels… Wrong? To just take all of their experiences and dictate what they must be, I just never feel I know enough to fully, accurately Classpect someone I’ve never met, and I worry they’re going to not like what I think they would be or something, so I tend to stray away from that.

I always pictured Papyrus as a Page of Light personally. He's got a good relationship with his brother and is being mentored by Undyne into learning about being a Royal Guard which likely comes with a whole set of obligations in of itself. What I'm saying is that relationships never felt like Papyrus' main thing. Light however, I think Papyrus is all about light, specifically the spotlight. He wants fame and valour, wanting people to know who he is. What do you think of reading Papyrus as this?

That’s fair. Honestly, again, this silly document is from years ago, I don’t even think my views on the individual Classes were the same as now.

What was feferi's kernelsprite prototyped with again?

Gl’bgolyb. She died arguably because of a meteor strike and then sort of. Accidentally floated up into her Kernelsprite.

Everyone knows Mettaton in a Thief of Breath

Are you sure? I kinda like the whole Spotlight and Fame thing with him. I really do need to re-Classpect all of them.

I've translated "Carne Vale" and "Stellarum Salve". Both are Latin; Carne Vale means Flesh Farewell and Stellarum Salve means Hello Stars. Any idea how they tie to Caliborn and Calliope?

You could argue about the duality- She’s Dead and he’s Alive, she’s a Space Player and he’s a Time One, so she gets the greeting, and him the Farewell, she gets the Stars and him the Flesh, connecting the duality of Body and Spirit.

But then it’s also just a pun. Carne Vale. Carnival. And then extrapolated to have Callie’s mean the opposite.

You are awesome, do you know that?

Awww, thank you! No, you all are the awesome ones for sticking with my silly stuff! I mean it, nearly 1000 Followers already, this has been a crazy… Month?

So If mages or more adept in miracles, how does that work with every aspect ? How does one perform a miracle with light or with rage? What range does the word “miracle” entail ?

revolutionaryduelist:

I tried to express this point back in the Force & Flow essays, but I’m not sure I succeded, so I’m glad for the chance to revisit it! I think I can answer your first question with the second. The range of a “miracle” is essentially the same as the range of “magic”, a concept that canonically applies to Heirs, Witches, Maids and Sylphs.

image

Jesus’ story is imported into Homestuck in the story of the Signless–a Seer.
When Jesus comes up, John describes him as magic–just as he later describes himself, Jade, and Rose in the midst of her Witch roleplay.  (And yes, this does mean the Jegus meme had a payoff in the form of classpect exposition.)

image

Later on, Rose seems to more or less figure out how to roleplay a wizard. But when Dave thinks to ask, she makes it clear what she’s doing isn’t exactly casting spells in the typical sense.

Which makes sense, because Prophets aren’t typically thought of as being magic per se. If you think about it, the miracles Jesus performs aren’t really that different from what we might imagine wizards could do.

What makes them different is a matter of emphasis. Wizards are regularly linked to knowledge, just like prophets are. Hence the concept of the “wizard’s spellbook”. But for magicians, knowledge is typically a means to an end, it’s an answer to “how” the magic is performed.

Prophets also do magic, but for them the emphasis is on the knowledge itself as opposed to the spellbook. A Prophet like Jesus or Moses would typically claim their magic wouldn’t happen at all, but for their faith in and knowledge of their divine Source–God.

Just trade in the figure of “God” for the Seer/Mage’s Aspect (the Aspects are inherently divine-coded anyway, given that they’re basically Aeons), and there you go. Any kind of magic you can think of a Prophet doing through their Aspect is something I believe reasonably falls under their purview.

I’d simply put just as much of an emphasis on what the Prophet might end up saying as a result of their Aspect’s influence, which is probably even more interesting. Do their prophecies concern/affect/benefit primarily themselves or others? How does their Aspect influence what message they have to give, and how they deliver it?

A particular nuance to the pair might be a penchant for resurrections/raising others from the dead, particularly in ways that might otherwise seem impossible. Sollux pulls this off for himself by half-ghosting, while Terezi pulls it off for Vriska by guiding John’s choices.

Does this answer your question, anon? It’s a pretty dang good one, btw.

A nice little take for the Anon that sent me about the Mage/Seer Heir/Witch duality before.

Le gasp !!! How did you know .... oh wait, now looking at it the connection is pretty obvious

I’m sorry, I don’t even know what this questions is in relation to sorry! My Inbox has been pretty full lately! :x

I said Mattaton is a Thief of Breath as a pun on "take your breath away."

Oh my god, and the Puns don’t stop coming huh.

If you don't mind, I would like to share my own opinion on undertale classpect. I think it's interesting to see the difference. I think Toriel would be a Sylph of Mind, since she offers you to stay, which is the reasonable choice to make, she is the one who make the pacifist route possible, and she is the "brain" behind the throne. I agree with you about Sans being a Mage of Time, but I think Papyrus could be a Knight of Space (but Page of Blood also make sens). (1/2)

Alphys could be a Maid of Light, she wants to be more important but destroy with her lies (bard of void). I think Undyne fits as a Witch of Hope and Mettaton as a Heir of Heart (He wants to be himself and inspires others). Chara and Frisk are tricky, but I think Chara could be a Seer of Doom and Frisk a Thief of Breath (or Heir). Finally, I think Asriel would be a Rogue of Life. I didn’t give a god tier to the other, it’s just an opinion I wanted to share. I really like your blog btw :) (2/2)

Mhmm, appreciated, thank you very much! And I can see your reasoning behind these yeah, again it was just a few old opinions I had on the Characters and it’s interesting seeing what you guys think about them and stuff!

Do you think a Heir of Light would be able to communicate with a different session while being in theirs ? (not like the trolls or Calliope with the kids, just people in a session talking with people from another session) If not, which god tier could do it ? Thank you and I'm sorry if I'm not clear enough.

I don’t quite see the Heir of Light having much to do with communication between Timelines, if anything I feel perhaps a Seer or Mage of Space would be more fitting. To interact with another Session, the most important thing is knowing about them in the first place- Otherwise you may not be able to quite interact with anyone else out there.

... I may or may not be trying to classpect the kids from BnHA, and I may want your opinion on what god tier Iida Tenya would be... For an AU... Maybe.

With his role as the Class President, and his power being based on movement and speed, as well as his goals to be worthy of the title Ingenium, I’d say Breath is very fitting. Not that sure about his Class though! Perhaps a Knight of Breath?

The “ Le gasp “ was Becuase you figured out that it was me who asked both you and duelist about the know change dichotomy and the whole “miracle” thing ( insert gamzee )

Oh! :p I actually didn’t quite know, I just found it convenient and reblogged it for you in case you hadn’t seen it!

I got a bunch of my friends to take the extended zodiac quiz and you’re class quiz and we somehow ended up with 4 rogues and 3 mages and this isn’t criticism or anything I just found that hilarious and wanted to share

Hehe, Mages aren’t that common, but remember to read the other Classes’ descriptions, and specially check if you’ve tied between different Classes or if there’s any that follows close by to the one you got- No Quiz can tell you who you are better than yourself and what Class Description you identify with the most, and Rogues just so happen to be the VAST Majority of people who’ve taken my quiz, so there may be a bit of a bias there.

Since Light is the aspect of knowledge and information and heir is a part of the know/change pair, I thought that the Heir of Light would be able to locate a session and "contact" it's players (manipulation of information). Maybe a Page of Space could help them for this task ? I'm asking this for a little story, so I have a limited choice of god tier.

Light is Information, yes, but I don’t feel Information is something that really relates to inter-dimensional contact. Rather, it relates to Facts and more ‘written in a book and explaining things about something’ kind of Information. If you’re going for the Page, it depends- The Page of Space, being ‘served Space’, I could imagine that’d be like, being offered another whole Session to go to, which would make them being the ones being contacted rather than the other way around.

So I've been thinking about Undertale classpects a lot recently, and I'm personally of the opinion that Sans and Papyrus are a Page of Doom and a Knight of Heart or Blood. Sans is the perfect Page - allowing others to Serve him through his own depression-induced pessimism. Also there's the bit about how the Doom-bound are the universe's chosen sufferers - that's Sans right there. He even does the page thing where he's basically useless until someone makes him get off his ass. 1/2

2/2 And then there’s Papyrus as a Knight of Heart or Blood. He’s got all the traits of a Knight - he puts up a happy “look at all the friends I have” front, and is constantly serving others by trying to help them maintain or form relationships. Heck, he only dates you because you flirt with him and he doesn’t want to make you upset. Both Blood and Heart have been connected to relationships, but I’m leaning more towards Blood just because the Extended Zodiac says the Heart-bound are self-centered

I do agree Papyrus is kinda Knight-ish, so that’d fit- However I can’t quite see Sans as a Page. Mainly because, that sort of depressive pessimist attitude of his doesn’t seem like something he puts up to get help. He’s a bit of a loner when it comes to his suffering, having people Serve him anything would only make him queasy. That’s my opinion at least.

ages ago i offhandedly placed my partner as a sylph of light, bc that’s just like, who he is all over. anyway i just made him do the xtended quiz for his aspect and that quiz for class and i was c o r r e c t (seer powers) xoxo have a good day

Hehe, it’s always fun to see my Class Quiz fit what some thought all along! Also high-give, my boyfriend’s a Sylph of Light too :3

When I think "being served" I think like a butler giving to someone. So I imagine a Page getting served like they get their Aspect. Like a Page of Blood is just given friends, like "Hey, is is my friend so and so" and the Page becomes friends with them immediately. Or a Page of Mind is always asked for their opinion, or is always given some choices like "Hey, want to go to this place, or this place." Or is always giving facts about stuff (1/2)

(2/2) Page of Light or Void knows all of the gossip. All of it. People just tell them for some reason. You should say some of the other Aspects

Basically! One of the big reasons for the word ‘Serve’ for Pages and Knights is precisely the allusions to Butlers- Jake literally, then, lives in Butler Island. Page of Light may know Gossips more than Void- As we know from Horuss, he wasn’t Served Anything and built himself up from nothing. Which is how he came to the introspective conclusion that he is, in fact, a Horse. Talk about a roundabout way to do things.

Wait, is served another word for giving? I'm talking about Pages

Yeah, Serving/Giving is the main verb for Pages and Knights, much like how Rogues and Thieves Take/Steal.

Oh, so Pages are given their aspect while Knights give their aspect?

Generally, yes. Pages are also Served by others because of their Aspect- Like how Vriska tried to make Tavros into a Hero incessantly to the point of abusing him, and later on how he just sort of had the entire Ghost Army following him, or how Jake had everyone trying to get with him before they realized no amount of tight shorts was worth all that Drama- As well as him realizing he may just be Aro/Ace. So yeah. They also serve THEMSELVES their Aspect- Tavros serving himself Detachment and dreams of Flying, Jake serving himself the Belief that Jane wasn’t into him and changing the topic in an attempt to not deal with relationship Drama.

I think the problem with pinning down the powers and limitations of a witch is that the only prominent witch is Jade. And since she is a witch of space and has a connection to the green sun (whos powers are mostly space related) its hard to see where the witch powers start and the sun powers stop.

I mean you could sort of say that of every Class and Aspect, power-wise we’ve only seen a fraction of the potential God Tiers could have, do also remember there are God Tier Rungs and we only know of Jade and Caliborn as the two Characters that at least climbed a few more Rungs before the end of the game.

so what exactly do you think the largest difference between a seer and mage in terms of abilities? you said that each paired class do have their own fundamental differences from one another, im just curious about what they are :o

The fundamental differences between pairs, rather than powers, are their personalities, like the Bard and the Prince for example. They have their similarities but they’re kind of not like each other at all. As for the differences in terms of abilities, again, it comes down to the Active/Passive Spectrum. Active Players tend to be more Proactive with their powers, and are self-driven, whereas Passive Players tend to be Reactive with their powers, and are more group-driven. And not even then does this apply 100%, there’s a lot of leeway.

I like how some Aspect opposites can wrap around and be each other in a way. Bringing people together to start a revolution, Blood and Breath. Thinking of someone, and figuring out how they work so they love you back, Heart and Mind. What are some other examples?

All Classpect Pairs are more closely related than some people give them credit for, although the seconf example you put sounds way more Hearty than Mind-y! I can’t quite think of any proper example right now, though.

How powerful can someone be if they scaled ALL the god tier rungs? Could they than have complete mastery over there classpect ?

Complete Mastery is likely reserved for Lords and Muses. But, I mean… John made a Whirlwind that consumed the entirety of his Land before Ascension, and drilled a hole with a tornado right after Ascending. Imagine the power you could have with years of training. It is not God Tier for nothing, after all.

what is the worst aspect for a mage?

No such thing as ‘worst’ Aspect for any Class! They all touch different parts of Reality, and they’re all special in their own way.

But I mean, much like the Seer of Void, a Mage of Void, Knowing Nothing or being Blind, is quite the ironic role.

Here’s a fun headcannon, a seer of space would be a expert critic as the conceptually know creation and by extension art. But the seer of space would be really bad at art for a long time since they only conceptually understand how to create but wouldn’t be very good at it

Hah, being a cold Art Critic and knowing the ins and outs of the process, but struggling to apply it and just doodling badly would be a cute thing for a Seer of Space.

Breath is actually a really strong aspect if you think about it! Because of all those things John did and all that

Of course it is, not even just Wind Powers, conceptually, Detachment, Freedom and the Plot are an incredible thing to be able to affect with your powers.

i took your quiz and got mage and it validated my entire existence bc ive thought of myself as a mage for forever

:D Honestly I was worried about the high amount of Rogues and the low amount of Seers that were coming out of the Quiz, and wondered if I’d messed up somewhere, but these kinds of messages make me happy that I made it how I made it and that people do relate to this stuff.

nothing wrong with your test seeming off balance, heck, the canon test turns out a lot of Life and Light players, which has actually led to a theory I saw several days ago about different species having general aspect affinities, the same could, possibly, be said for classes, that a lot of people just have that mindset, idk, just tossing in my two cents

Fair enough, and yeah, whether Canon or Fanon, all Quizzes tend to be just kind of biased and bad in general? Yes, including mine! I much prefer reading the answers, which is where the Meat of the Analysis resides, and making my choice based on introspection and relating to these bits of information, rather than letting X Questions determine it for me. After all, the Questions of a Quiz are just an automated system to parse what final response suits you the most in the end.

some rage player went on a berserker rampage, whats the best player to deal with him?

image

OH WAIT YOU SAID PLAYER I thought you were just saying thing in general- Uh.

Either a Prince/Bard of Rage to Destroy their Rage or Thief/Rogue to Steal it, or any Classpect combo that’d be able to subdue or clear their mind would work.

Honestly, the description of the classes was so much help for me. For the longest time I thought I was a thief, even your description of the thief matched me pretty well ... espically the bad. But after reading all of them it gave me a epiphany, I act like a thief a lot but I’m happiest while acting like a mage. So to me that meant I was a mage. But could a mage have thief qualities, like being manipulative if they think it’s for there friends good?

Class Descriptions are just overviews of the sort of ‘stereotype’ regarding Classes, and if everything else in Homestuck tells us anything, is that stereotypes are dumb and everyone is unique and has their own specific nuances. But, Classes and Aspects do relate to your personality when it comes to the way that comes naturally to you, and what you’re the happiest and most comfortable with, something that is truly you. If you’re acting Thief-like but you’re not happy when doing that, that’s fair, doesn’t necessarily mean you’re a Thief. A Mage though? I could see them acting Thief-like when they’re in an unhappy place- Frustrated and Self-Driven may lead them to act on their own and try to cheat the System.

Do you think a sylph who’s powers are more self centered would work? For example I’m a sylph of light and honestly never really understood the inverse of prince of void when applied to myself, but when I realized that maybe it’s more centered towards me and not an outward concept of relevance/irrelevance it made a lot more sense. Ideally I may heal myself with my concept of light and in the worst case destroy myself with void. (Pt 1)

(Pt 2) Idk, it makes sense but I kept wondering if maybe this would fit another class paring better. I originally gravitated towards sylph because I do like helping people and healing peoples misconceptions and stuff, but after going through a lot of depression the concept I described just seemed more fitting even though I would still strive to do all the normal sylphy things.

You may want to go to someone else for a question like this, because I personally don’t see much of a need to relate yourself to your Inverse Class! So if that’s what you’re going with, I’m not exactly the best to give an opinion about the nuances of it.

Would the name abstractMaverick be a good chumhandle for a Heir Of Light player/or a light player in general?

Yeah, I mean I feel Chumhandles don’t necessarily have to relate to your Classpect either, like. arsenicCatnip. centaursTesticle. They’re more thematic than Classpect related.

does Rage represent only negative things or are there some positive things like determination or passion?

Rage represents the Reality behind a Fake System, it’s got a heavy focus on Anarchy and Destroying a False System, so given you can tie it to destroying Tyranny and Fascism, it’s got very positive connotations.

how strong would a Knight of Hope be after 100000 years of training?

I don’t think a God Tier would be alive after 100000 years, let alone training continuously for so long. I think your mind would Snap at the prospect of Eternity and the constant routine strain of your body for that long. It may be my Doom Player nature but- If I had to spend 100000 years training, I wouldn’t have any hope left to Fight with/for.

Hey would a prince/bard of doom be able to calm people down by destroying the stress and/or anger of the person needing calming? Since someone on an emotional rampage ( and general rampage) could DOOM people in many ways.

Yeah, it’s one of those Paradox Classpects, if you Destroy Pain, you’re technically a Healer, even though your Title seems to imply a more aggressive approach to your powers.

What three aspects do you think get the worst rep?

Rage, definitely. There can be a lot of positive in Rage and a lot of negative in Hope, but. Yeah.

Since god tiers are supposed to be the gods of a new universe, I don't think they can die of age

Not age, but I’ve always headcanoned you can sort of. Choose when to just Stop when you’re a God Tier. Living for a literal Eternity seems like a biiiiit too much.

yeah being around for thousands or millions of years would definitely snap my mentality, everything would just be boring and pointless so i would switch off my immortality after like hmmm. 500? maybe less

It’s hard to say how that would be, I personally think as long as I could find a purpose to keep going, I’d be able to last longer than that. But, the point of the previous ask, about TRAINING for 100000 years, I really don’t think anyone would have that level of endurance.

So, I took your test and I got a knight, and the strange thing is, I used to think of myself as a knight, although now I identify with being an Heir. The strange thing is, when I took the extended zodiac test, I got the doom aspect, which I also used to identify with until I really looked into Void. Same thing almost happened with lunar sway (I thought I was derse, changed to prospit, and got derse on the test but now I may be going back to derse)

That’s an interesting set of coincidences, huh! There may be something there to look into!

Ever time I hear the mage of void, I think of that one John snow meme “ you know nothing “. .... because that’s what a mage of void does right ? They know nothing

I do this meme for the Seer and Mage of Void at least once a month.

are Knight's also oppressed by their aspect?

I mean, not specially as far as I can tell? Maybe? Unsure.

Caliborn and Gamzee are also GT, so it wouldn’t make the kids completely bored or their ending pointless since they have some baddies to deal with in their spare time. Just my two cents.

Gamzee is actually, as we know, a Fake God Tier. Also let’s be honest, a Clown and an Asshole aren’t exactly Prime Baddies for Eternity.

Pt.1)Could a Seer of Mind take a step further than knowing alternate versions of oneself and create a Mind-Network between all of them? This could create an opportunity for quantum jumping, allowing all the different versions to merge as one who would in essence be the like a true version, encompassing all the different sides of that person. I know it sounds kind of Maid/Sylph/Lord/Muse like, but I was thinking, since they know each other, than maybe could communicate and phase into one another.

Pt.2)Would this knowing ones Mind on this multi-universal-level allow the original version of said Seer of Mind to live on after dying so the dream version becomes God-tier? The original and dream versions memories, in essence, share a line of consciences. So would the original and failed versions be able to live through the God-tier? If the power is viable, then what do you think a God-tiered Seer of Mind can do that the regular can’t? Would the God be the only one who could do this?

Okay this is a really interesting take because it’s something that’s been actually talked about in Canon, about an ‘Ultimate’ sort of cumulative experience of every single iteration of you, and to an extent, Terezi in Remem8er was her doing this. Arguably with just the Game Over Timeline, but given this example, and the way Rose has her Doomed Dream Self Merge with her Alpha Dream Self, it is possible. Albeit it is mentioned that doing this kind of thing may be rather bad for the Player in question- Way too many Souls and Experiences muddling the person.

As for what a God Tier would be able to do in comparison to the Non God Tier, that’s even MORE interesting, because as we know, God Tier Powers manifest without being Ascended. Terezi’s feats are all done pre-Ascension, Alpha Rose and the Sufferer were Seers, the way the fabric of Paradox Space is built makes it so that in the setting of Homestuck, Aspect Powers are just things that happen. God Tier Ascension likely provides a faster way to unlock these powers, as well as immortality, which is useful when you’re doing things like drilling a planet with wind- It’s kind of possible God Tier Ascension serves more as a Safety Net and Quick Unlock of Potential, but that through training, grit and determination, just about anyone would be able to manifest some pretty cool powers. So the things Terezi does may just as well be the same powers she would have if she actually Ascended. She’s That Badass.

Finally and just as a nice detail, in Collide, Terezi and Dave use Fraymotifs specifically to do something similar, reading through Timelines and taking themselves from Timeline to Timeline and dragging knowledge from the future back to them, it’s messy but an incredible combination.

About the immortality post, They say "would you die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain?" If the god tier lost everything they would go insane

Thankfully with multiple God Tiers they sort of have each other but, look at John. He’s been doing nothing for about two years, he’s sort of got no purpose or drive right now. It’s likely his friends will help him up but, could you imagine that depressive state for thousands of years? Yeah. Poor John.

Why is the Breath symbol and the Life symbol similar?

They’re also similar to Hope, it’s hard to say- Seems like there’s a few shapes kinda repeated through the Aspect Spectrum. This and the order of the Aspects on the Canon Aspect Wheel has been a thing I’ve thought about with some friends, but the results have been sort of. Mildly inconclusive so far.

Why is Gemini classified as Derse in the Extended Zodiac when both Sollux and Mituna had both Prospit and Derse selves?

They had both Dream Selves, but they’re originally Derse- They having two and Aradia’s not having a tower makes it weird at first glance, but when you think in terms of ectobiology it makes sense. They were made in groups of six- Terezi, Vriska, Kanaya, Karkat, Gamzee, Tavros on one side, and Aradia, Feferi, Eridan, Nepeta, Equius, Sollux on the other. Hence, Gemini = Derse.

i saw somebody ask about a Maid of Mind using the Tsukuyomi and Kotoamatsukami techniques. The latter one is used to give people false experiences and use those to manipulate them. And said person doesn't even know they're being manipulated in the first place because they think they're the one who made the choice. Definitely sounds like a Maid of Mind thing both for their role of Giving, and the use of their powers for their own purposes.

Ooh, I didn’t remember that. God, this kind of thing blurs the line between Mind and Heart though, I wouldn’t be able to tell if a Maid of Heart or a Maid of Mind would fit it better. Hell, even a Maid of Blood could sorta work.

Can there be two of the same aspect, Like a maid of breath and a knight of breath, in the same session?

There’s no canonical precedent but I don’t see a reason why there can’t be repeat Classpects if it fits both people.
