January 2018

My name is funny in this case - Land of Law and Disorder.

Your Land is pretty much.

( LOUD Warning )

How exactly do you relate yourself to classes? I struggle with actually relating to them, as either I relate to one thing but not to other aspects of the class or I relate to one class then heavily to another. :P

No idea honestly! Some people are just a mix of various things, we’re all humans, nuanced and complex. So… Maybe see what you like the best power-wise?

Hey is it just me or do the TAKE classes tend to swap between exploiting there aspect for themselves and allowing there aspect to benefit others ? Like vriska at times allowing others to benefit from her knowledge, and roxy directly exploiting void for combat and to further her own gain.

Another example of what I say about the Active-Passive dichotomy being hazy, all the Classes have that, where they act both Active and Passive at various points, INCLUDING the Master Classes. But there’s always context that gives more insight on why they’re doing it. Also do remember for a lot of her story, Vriska is trying to act as a Sylph, so that plays into it as well.

What do you do when stuck between to different classpects ???? I’m trapped between a thief and mage of light. I tend to literally take center stage and be a attention hog, but I also am really good at helping others with my knowledge and I love to do it. I also tend to manipulate those I deem as beneath me. So than which classpect am I more like ???? How did I choose ??? X(

Honestly it sounds more leaning towards the Thief than the Mage the way you put it, but if you’re unsure, as I’ve said before, just stick to one and see how it feels for a while.

Well what would be the difference between a mage and thief of light when it comes to information. I keep hearing that a thief of light will only share information when it benefits them. But a mage of light would be the pwrisnt to go to for all the information. Would a thief of light enjoy simply talking/explaining things to anyone who wants it because the thief wants to give exposition ( no strings attached )

The difference is that a Mage takes the information to learn about it, they want to Know things, whereas the Thief wants to make use of the Information. Light is a messy Aspect because it conflicts with the Know Classes- If you have Info, you Know about it after all. But the Thief gathers it for a purpose, where a Mage may only want to know for the sake of knowing, or know intrinsically and put it to use, not because it’s their main purpose, but because they already know about it enough to put things in motions.

Not to say, Light means more than Information, so a good chunk of what they do could be relating to other things with Luck. Think about it this way- Rose gathered information about the Alpha Session and offered exposition about it to Dave to be prepared for what was to come, and just have a general idea of the situation. In turn, Vriska gathered information about the Retcon Timeline and formulated a plan based on it- And failed completely because she disregarded the details and importance of what was going to go down in various different places.

Okay, if a sburb session becomes impossible, say there isn't a space player, would sburb link yours to another one? Or would it just be doomed.

The Kids’ Session is special enough to be called unique within Paradox Space. Usually, most Sessions just die off.

So I would have the Land of Purity and Light, and I feel like that's really on the nose for a Mage of Light. Maybe it would be a dystopia that looks like a utopia, and my job would be to figure out what's really going on? I dunno though, purity seems more like a Hope thing

Sounds good enough really, it doesn’t have to fit 100% Aspect-wise and it’s still a cool concept. Also good GOD another Mage of Light.

Oh look we broke 1000 followers! :D

tbh i think sombra from overwatch would be a really good thief of light. she steals knowledge and information and uses said information to benefit her in the best way possible, be it blackmailing some high ranking official or selling it to the highest bidder, hell even her ult line is "lights out"

Hmmm, I would actually see her as a Thief of Void! She operates in the shadows and remains off the radar expertly, to the point of having erased her own name- Until Zarya catches wind of it of course. She does steal Information, but not any kind of Information- She’s after the dirty secrets and plots of organizations world-wide. She could also be a Rogue though, if you think of her trying to unveil these world-wide plots as something selfless, but given the catalyst was her childhood and she tends to tease her ‘partners’ at Talon and ruins an entire operation to further her own agenda, I would say she is a Thief indeed.

Would it be possible for a light and hope player to "undoom" a session? Like in the event there isn't a space player or the other required components, but the luck and hope of those two players is influential enough to trick SBURB into making things work out perfectly Perhaps a Lord and Muse of either aspect could pull it off?

Rather than ‘Viable Sessions’, I tend to see the Space-Time requirement as something to make a STABLE Session. I do believe you may be able to Undoom a Session and win it in a number of ways, however you will most definitely need to pull off some Deus Ex Machina shit to make it happen. Hope and Light may be a good start, but it’s likely the ‘Luck’ and ‘Hope’ would manifest as something from ANOTHER Session luckily getting there, rather than beating it on their own.

Do you think a Player could go Trickster Mode without a Juju? Like if they are Bard/Prince under extreme stress while everything is going vary bad around them and just want everything to be alright and to go right?

I would say no, Trickster Mode is explicitly framed as pretty much a Cheat Code, it’s not something that’d happen without external influence on SBURB.

There may be non-Juju ways to access it, but not just through Class Powers.

Would a session go fine without the master classes?

I’m assuming you’re talking about a 2-Player Session rather than the average Session and. I think yeah honestly, I think SBURB could be winnable in a standard 2-Player Session, but it may be a bit tough on the poor players.

I had a rouge of space having the land of fir trees and fox fire. Most of their quest was to learn how to use space powers as a form of ninjustu and the deity of the land is named amatarasu.

Again, do remember- Unless there was another Space Player in the Session, and even then we don’t know how SBURB would deal with that- That a Space Player tends to have Frogs in their Land and Echidna as their Denizen, merely because it’s a requirement to actually win the game. If you’re going for a Null or Void Session straight off the bat, though, that’d work.

What kinda god tier do you think would fit a Badger themed character?

I don’t think animal thematic-ness is bound to a single Class or Aspect.

Going off the name thing my land would be Land of Waterfalls and Holiness/Purity/Snow. As a Mage Of Void I don’t know what kind of quest I would get from that

If you go with Snow you could have a Land full of Frozen Rivers and Waterfalls hiding long, dark, winding ice caverns that reflect light like mirrors and create confusing, winding mazes you need to learn to navigate.

Question: is it necessary for a land to make any sense at all to other people in the game? I mean, heck, I'm not sure any of the hs characters understood theirs till hella late, not to mention their friends'.

Not necessarily, Lands can be really weird. SBURB tries to give you a custom adventure but if you don’t get the point or dismiss it (cough Rose cough), then things just get weird.

Can a rogue of light use light to make illusions with light or take their own light to make them/others invisible/camouflage, change the color of things or would a witch of light be better suited for controlling light that enters the eye

Flashes of Light and Stealing their Own light or Others Light to appear invisible or blind someone would be Rogue-ish, not quite sure about the Illusions, seems a bit too complex for Taking, but you could make a case for it. A Witch most DEFINITELY has illusions.

Land ideas for a Witch of Rage? Thank you!!

I usually don’t answer to these because as I’ve said before, I’m bad with Land Making from Scratch- But with the ‘Land’ thing at the beginning, I accidentally read Witch and Rage instead of Witch of Rage, and LOWAR is a badass acronym for a Rage Player, so maybe you can start from there.

My first name means "who is like god" and my last name meaning shining, fame, bright, got any ideas how I can incorporate my first name into this so far I got the Land of (???) and spotlights

If you’re going with the Fame meaning of the second one, and you have ‘Like god’ at the beginning, I suggest something like Narcissism perhaps, or if you’re going for a variant of God, or Divine, the word ‘Diva’ certainly fits the theme.

Lord of Rage would win a dead session by bullshitting through it.

I can’t argue against that logic.

Or lack thereof, technically.

Wait.

Jar Jar Binks is a Lord of Rage.

So Calliope was wrong about gendered classes, huh? Although, I shouldn't be surprised. Classes are supposed to challenge your personality faults, so the classes being non-gender-locked would make sense.

Calliope offers a bunch of really useful exposition on Classes, however she’s also very much framed as another Theorist just like the Homestuck Fandom. The role of the Prince and a few of the Class Pairings work well enough, but when it comes to Gendered Classes, she was basing it off the things she had read from Rose’s Book, assuming ‘Prince’ was male and ‘Witch’ female exclusive merely because of the words themselves.

There's something I ended up thinking about my land. So LOWAA (no not Eridan's land) would have a bunch of huge woodwind lookin houses where the consorts live, the consorts don't play their woodwinds anymore because in fear of angering the denizen. The instruments present would be kinds of flutes and pipes and probably, a pipe organ. The planet looks like a mix of brown and black and sky blue from the structures and the natural land. Idk what the consorts would be though. But I guess birds work?

Consorts seem to be more Herptiles than Birds, but if you’re going the Dinosaur Route you may be able to find common ground there.

While formulating this ask, I was wondering if Moira would be a Thief of Life or a Sylph of Life, then I remembered the Rogue class. Moira would definitely be a Rogue of Life; stealing life in order to give them for her team-mates

Seems fitting enough, she also fits the Outlaw archetype, working for Blackwatch, conducting morally dubious experiments, and she does it all to further Humanity’s Evolution, which is technically Selfless.

Have you seen the "Jar Jar Binks is a Sith Lord" theory? It and it's meta make "JJB is Lord of Rage" even more hilarious and on spot.

The Jar Jar Binks is a Sith Lord theory is EXACTLY why I said he was a Lord of Rage.

Lord of Void would win a dead session by such mysterious means that session itself would be unsure of how.

It’d basically be that McCree reaction image when he’s like “H-How” about the Zenyatta that was 90% of the match on Fire.

Lord of Blood would manage to get coplayers despite being in the dead session.

For a moment I read that as ‘Cosplayers’ and now all I can think of is the Felt Cosplaying.

What would Reaper's godtier would be? He's all about death and stuff. Thief of Life? Prince of Life? Heir of Doom?

I personally think there’s still something we don’t quite know about Reaper’s Goals that may change our perception of what God Tier he would be in a near future.

Lord of Mind won't be given a choice by denizen. Lord of Mind would give a choice TO denizen.

Oh my god, could you imagine how fucking pissed Yaldabaoth would be at that.

Miss Paint God Tier?

The Miss of Paint, obviously.

Moira is knight of life (weaponizing) and mercy is a Sylph, no doubt

She does Serve life, but I still think the Rogue works better. Mercy is very likely a Sylph though.

I think Zenyatta would be the Knight of Life

I think the Iris may be more Hope-y than Life-y.

Ultimate question that I think about sometimes... is tracer space or time? Because she has both abilities

She’s just Time, her ability to appear to warp forward in Space is merely a result of her fast-forwarding to that point- The time she spends moving from point A to point B never happens because she’s jumped to a point in the Timeline where she’s further ahead, therefor, it looks like she’s warped through Space.

Session lacks space player. So Mage of Time grabs Maid of Heart and dumps them on the meteor during the reckoning. Where the Maid upon arrival creates a space player with their alchemical shenanigans thus dooming their timeline. They raise said space player and have them introduced to their younher self and their friends. When the kids play the game, they get a space player while Doomed!Maid dies... and drama ensues once said player realises where did they come from.

Now that’s the kind of Time Fuckery I like to see coming from SBURB.

On the scale of 1 to 10, how kinky is a Seer of Doom?

Oh wouldn’t you like to know.

So how did the kids and trolls know what their godtiers were? Like the exact title of it. And why don't they actually know their role? Like, Eridan assumed that being a Prince of Hope was a good thing and demanded to know about all hope related stuff on the meteor.

There are various points at which the Titles are revealed. The first instance is Nanna’s Inscription in John’s copy of the Sassacre Text, in which she explicitly tells John his Session has a Heir of Breath, a Witch of Space, a Seer of Light and a Knight of Time. Then the Consorts talk about their roles, the Salamanders do talk about the Heir of Breath, and the White Queen refers to Rose as the Seer. So, Sprites + Consorts + Exiles tell the Kids what their Role is- But the thing about God Tier is that, you make up your own Role. Two Heirs of Breath won’t be the same, because each of them may consider their Role as a Heir, and their affinity to Breath, in different ways. For Eridan, that mean being Bossy about anything Hope-Related, because he’s an asshole. A Prince of Hope would’ve been great though- Destroying through Hope, if he’d been optimistic and nice about things he could’ve been a good weapon against Bec Noir and Lord English! But in the end he ended up Destroying Hope, and Destroying through the Hope that Bec Noir would become an ally to him. So yeah, you make your role up, you only get vague hints about what the Classes and Aspects mean, and what your Quest is.

I can't remember your title off the top of my head, but, if you've thought about it: What are some interesting ways you could and/or would abuse your powers?

Seer of Doom here! Which is why there was that wink-wonky response to my last ask about the Seer of Doom. And as I’ve said before, knowing when and what bad things are going to happen would let me stay off the loop of Drama so I don’t really have to deal with Pain and Suffering, even though in turn it’d make me a tad Paranoid.

Which really is kind of par for the course for me.

Blake Langerman (Outlast 2) God Tier?

You know, I’ve watched a whole Let’s Play of Outlast 2 and I don’t think I even knew Blake’s full name. I’m going to go with the Page of Doom. Actually you know what, every single Horror Protagonist is a Page of Doom, because boy oh boy do they get Served some horrifying fucking painful and torturous situations.

Also because I think going through a Horror Setting dressed up in snug green underwear is hilarious.

Logan Paul's God Tier?

He actually gets a dual God Tier! As the Waste of Heart and the Lack of Mind.

I still wonder what requirements needs to be met for a god tiers death to be 'Just'. Cause in the two only cases in the series the clock that decides it was tempered with. For Vriskas death Jack knocked it over and for Grimbark Jades it was Araneas mind control ... somehow. In both cases the clock would have chosen neutral for both, so it's neither being a morally questionable person nor being literally corrupted by outside influences.

It’s actually left up to the interpretation if there was any tampering with or if it would’ve still chosen the same veredict. Aranea’s Mind Control was more hinting at how lucky it was for her than actual manipulation on her part, and Jack’s Smashing could’ve influenced it, but ultimately it’s left up to the reader. I honestly think both of those were well deservedly Just and the ‘tampering’ is just to add tension to the scene.

Is this run by one person or a group of mods?

Only one person!

Grimbark Jade is honestly adorable

She really is.

jack destroyed the clock AFTER it was deemed just, even if it was a few frames; he had no influence on the outcome. it even chimed right before he hit it, indicating it was only the clock

That’s what I think as well, but the undeniable fact is that, Hussie intentionally left it ambiguous because he’s a Big Troll and wanted us to think about what makes a Death Just, because that’s just the kind of stuff we love him for.

If you don't mind me hoping in on this. I'm a thief of time who's on the land of stars and gears, what sorts of things could I expect and what could my quest be?

Lots of Time Players with Gears in their Lands! Stars, though, mixed with Gears, I cannot quite picture how this one would be… Seems pretty Space-Time duality themed. Hmmmm…

I'm a Page of Hope and my land is the Land of Gods and Rebirth. It would be an Ancient Greek-styled Land, what do you think my quest and consorts would be like?

I think the Rebirth part may have to do with it, maybe the ‘Denizen is Dead’ and you need to Revive it with some kind of Ritual. Of course the Denizen is not actually Dead and you’re just awakening it, but yeah. As for consorts, if you’re going for something Greek… I don’t know, what are some famous Greek Herptiles?

Since changing a characters classpect, I'm rejiggering their land. They're a Knight of Hope who needs to let down their constant optimism etc, with Ancient Greek aesthetics. I've got 'The Land of Kayfabe and _' so far but I'm unsure what else to do for the name.

I had no idea what Kayfabe was honestly and had to look it up. The second part would likely have to tie with the Ancient Greek aesthetics, maybe? Not sure… After all Terezi has greek-ish Temples and her Land is Thought and Flow- Unless you consider Greece and the ‘great thinkers of old’, in which case Thought does tie in, but still that’s kind of a stretch. It could be pretty much anything.

So my names mean either just 'holy woman' or in another language 'village', 'castle/stronghold', and 'son of david'. While i can imagine some themes to a land with that I'm not sure much of the narrower meanings of those terms really fit with a seer of space (quest in applying self 'n speaking up for my work [idk the consorts critique my frogs or somethin? very iffy, conceptual stages still.])

Hmm, yeah there’s a bunch to work there. However, ‘Consorts critique my frogs’ has to be just about the best thing I’ve ever heard.

Hey my last name means 'power' could you help me think of a land to fit? Land of streams and ----

Make it alliterative and have Streams and Strength, wouldn’t that be fun? Unless you want to go with ‘power’ meaning electricity and having a whole water + electricity themed Land, in which case, I don’t know, Streams and Energy?

I dont know if we are done with the overwatch asks, but I think mccree is the space player, I was thinking light because he has the ‘lucky cowboy son of a gun’ character archetype and all, but there is no doubt deadeye is manipulating space

Not necessarily though, hmm, you could make a case for Light to focus and aim or even Time to slow down time for himself, target, and then shoot. He COULD be the Space Player though, but it’s not quite final.

My favourite flashes so far are: [S] Rose: ride and [S] Roxy: ride

But what about [S] John: Reunite with your loving wife and daughter?

Im a Princess of Heart. My first name means wisdom and my last name means strenght. Any Land idea?

The Land of Zelda and Ganon, with you as Link carrying the Courage the Land lacks, of course.
