Ok, hear me out on this. What if you fingers had Classpects. Each one had their own. Really weird, out of the blue question, but here's my reason. Classpect finger puppet. Like, imagine your fingers dressed up in tiny Classpect outfits

Okay that’s absolutely adorable, but now I can’t help but imagine Hussie doing that, because he’s the only character I could feasibly see having something as ridiculous as “Each Finger is a different God Tier”.

Oh, no, I mean as in each finger really having a different Classpect and the actual Classpect Power. The Striders would DEFINITELY do that aesthetically.

Actually the Middle Finger would be a Hero of Heart. Pinky would be Void, Ring would be Blood, Index would be Mind and Thumb would be Breath.

Let me just take every single Finger Question out in one fell swoop.

I get why you’d choose Rage, yeah, but beyond flipping the bird, Heart’d fit much better!

Heart for the Middle Finger is obvious. Breath for the Thumb because in its position it’s detached from the rest, and is also the Hero of the Hand that lets us grip stuff. Pinky is Void because it’s kind of just there, irrelevant at the end. Ring is Blood because that’s where you put your rings to signify a bond. And Index is Mind because you Choose with it.

I think finding Classes for each finger is stretching the joke a bit too far- NOPE, they’re all Bards. All of them. Merely because the Bard Hood would jut out with the shape of the finger itself and I like imagining Fingers with Codpieces.

And I don’t think each individual Finger could enter a SBURB Session and Ascend without tearing your hand apart you know, so to begin with, a Session like that would be a tad silly. Sillier things have happened in Paradox Space though.

i feel like Life is such a... an active aspect i suppose? so how would Life go with being a Seer?

I mean, all the Life Players we’ve seen- Maid, Witch, Thief, are Active Classes, so that may make Life seem more Active. It’s still an interesting Aspect though!

For a Seer, they’d be able to Know and See Life, which, to begin with, it’d make sense for them to know a lot about Biology, Plants, Animals… It’s possible they’d be able to also ask Animals and Plants, gather information from them, from Nature itself, knowing Through Life, maybe even to the point of seeing through the eyes of woodland creatures and the like. Other possibilities would be Seeing Biology, letting them know where there’s an internal wound or some issue in someone’s body, perhaps like X-Ray Vision, as well as the possibility of Heat-Vision- Letting them know where Life is even through Walls and such.

A fun thing about Life is its connections to Agency, however. Given the precedent with Mind allowing Terezi to see the consequences of her Choices, it’s likely a Seer of Life would be able to see what path one has to follow, not for the most relevant or Alpha way like Rose, but to do whatever the hell it is they want to do. Opposite to Mind and its connections to Choice in general and the multiple branching paths one can head down towards, a Seer of Life may hone in on what they want to do, and know exactly what they have to do to accomplish it.

As a Seer, however, as I’ve argued in the path, they’re more effective as Guides than getting shit done themselves, and while they’d definitely be able to pull some things off all by themselves, they may come across a tad pushy wanting to lead others to do what they ultimately want to. That being said? They could also as easily explain the precise steps for everyone else to do what THEY want to, which would make them the most important source of Advice for the Players to have fun with the game and pull off whatever individual plans and agendas they may have in mind.

Anything for a Mage of Life?

The base of Knowing and Understanding Life would be similar to the Seer as I’ve just described, however as with other Mages, there’d be some clear differences. First the general focus on their own Agency rather than others’ as a means of looking into the future, and likely more of being naturally good with biology and animals rather than a Seer seeking information about and from Life.

The biggest difference would likely be their propensity to make what they see take place themselves- Where Seers may guide others more, Mages are prone to taking action, and when it comes to Life as Agency, it’s likely the Mage of Life would have a big drive to change things to their liking, and the means to pull it off by themselves.

in the past when people have asked about "but what about prince of X, they destroy X" and you've answered along the lines of "ah, but they're still an X player at heart." could you explain that again? i've got two to worry about, a Life player and a Doom player.

Okay, those two are actually good to exemplify because they’re the same Aspect Pair. So, a lot of the time people believe being a Destroyer Class means that they’re the opposite of their Aspect- If you’re a Prince of Life, you’d ‘basically be like a Doom Player’, and if you’re a Prince of Doom, you’d ‘basically be like a Life Player’. This comes from the misconception that Aspects are complete Opposites, and that Destroying your Aspect must somehow mean you’re aligned to your Opposite.

This is not quite true, however, first of all they’re equating Powers with Personality, and ignoring a big part of those powers. You could say a Prince of Life Destroys Life, so he leaves Doom behind- Which is a fair assessment. But this is just the powers- Even if they do ‘leave Doom’ behind after Destroying Life, it’s still Life they were interacting with. Furthermore, a Prince of Life could as easily Destroy Through Life. Whichever the case, they’re still mainly centring around their interactions with Life, and not the Doom it causes, and all of this has to do with the powers themselves and not the way the Aspects and different Personalities tie in to each other! A Prince of Life may be concerned with healing and the well being of those around him, perhaps they could struggle with the damage they can cause or not being effective enough at helping them. Even in a case where they struggled with the Doom they caused by Destroying Life, they would still be concerned, not because they’re a Doom Player, but because they’re concerned with healing and care as a Life Player.

Similarly, a Prince of Doom may Destroy Doom, and let life Blossom, but as I’ve said before, they can also Destroy Through Doom, and in whichever case, they would be more accepting of misery than a Life Player. They’re not healers, they’re the shoulder you lean on to support yourself through a hard time.

Basically, it doesn’t matter if you ‘Destroy Life’, in the words of the Canon Aspect Quiz, you’re still a Life Player, a great listener, caretaker, and nurturer. And it doesn’t matter if you ‘Destroy Doom’, you’re still  wise, kind, and non-judgemental.

Any baseless headcanons?

I like to think everyone abuses their God tier powers. No one wants to play games with Rose because she’s just god damn unbeatable. John comes out of the shower and blows himself dry with the Windy Thing. Jade cooks with her Space Powers and just kind of uses them to grab things from afar and make her life easier- She would also dry herself after the shower if she didn’t already shake like a dog to do that. Dave has Rap Battles with himself. With both God Tier resurrection still being a thing, and her healing prowess, wounds of any kind become instantly solve-able, which makes everyone, but Jane specially, quite reckless. Jake prefers to wait problems out up until the last second and just hope they go away on their own, and 9 times out of 10 it actually works. Roxy just makes shit ALL The time with her powers, even though she could go to the Alchemiter for a faster and more accurate result. Dirk’s powers aren’t that useful in a day-to-day basis, but at least they work as an excuse for “Heart Breaker” puns.

Headcanons on the Caliborn ghost from the timeline where he died to his sister against all odds?

It’s hard to tell, really. I should point out we don’t actually know what happened to Caliborn’s Dream Self- Like… Okay, listen.

Since ‘predominating’ is Assimilating the Cherub’s Counterpart, it feels like it wouldn’t even make a Ghost to ‘kill’ Calliope or Caliborn that way, making the Callie Ghost in the Bubbles the one coming from Jack stabbing her on Prospit. Derse is far away enough that in a Dead Session, it wouldn’t get sucked into the Black Hole. Given Alt Callie said she kind of wore him down little by little, it means she predominated the normal way and not by cheap tricks killing Caliborn. For all we know, she reduced him to nothing- Likely leaving his Dream Self comatose and unmoving rather than Dead in Derse, and as such, not producing a Caliborn Ghost.

dang, you're right. But with actual infinite universes there should be one where he became a ghost. Would be interesting to see.

The thing is that, there’s actually not infinite deviations in the Homestuck-verse. There may be potentially infinite different ways things could go, but by the way we don’t see many of some ghosts, and sometimes just a single instance, or no instance of ghosts for certain characters, I like to think the Horrorterrors just take the Souls from Timelines where the characters suffer enough of a deviation to be considered ‘different’- As such someone like Caliborn, or like Vriska, have one, or even No ghosts at all, because they’re just so self-focused and determined that they don’t differ between Timelines in the slightest. Similarly, the Alpha Trolls are a bunch of Teenaged Drama Queens, so of course they’re malleable and there’s like a million of each.

A lot of people seem to think having a gun for a weapon is overused - so I'd like to ask what are some weapons you've come up with/want to see used?

Guns can be fun if you Alchemize them to do cool stuff. Weapons I’d love to see in SBURB though? Anything Staffkind and Scythekind.

You don’t need to be practical when you have SBURB! I bet you could make a scythe that sends like. Smaller energy blades from the swing if you alchemize an actual Scythe with some Anime or Game poster. Or that kills anything it touches if you combine it with an ~ATH book to make Death’s Scythe.

Predetermination. Much like the Lord of Time, there would be an Alpha they know has to go a certain way, so within that Timeline they’d be exempt of consequences.

Would a muse of blood abuse their power too??

I could see a Muse of Blood being the embodiment of Puppy Eyes. Abusing their deep control over their bonds with others to get something.

What would a fitting classpect be for a character who loves to make things explode? Either by making their own explosions with chemicals, or with their own power (like telekinesis for Rust-bloods)

I suppose, it depends on what you consider ‘Explosion’ as. Hell you could make a point for it being a Light Aspect thing too, or even a Breath thing.

Isn’t that a basic function of SBURB with the Prospit Clouds? I don’t think that’d be much of an important skill. However given the Prophetic Dreams + Skaia theme, maybe a Seer of Light/Hope.

An explosion as in the power to make an object explode, like how a Rust-blood would be able to lift or bend an object, one would be able to make said object explode.

I mean if you’re going full Telekinesis you could EVEN argue a Prince of Mind- Causing Destruction with their Mind. But yeah like, seriously, you could use a bunch of Aspects. Breath because of a rapid combustion consuming oxygen. Space because, discharge of energy. Light because explosions produce Light. 

I think a seer of doom would probably be able to see possible bad futures through nightmares or something, before they've woken up on a dream moon. At least, that's what I'd concluded w/ my own seer of doom

I feel with Chucklevoodoos, Nightmares are more Rage-Coded than Doom-Coded, but could work.

what would a Prince of Light's land be like?

Anything really, Lands make vague references to the Aspects, and not even every single time, so who knows.

Could a sylph abuse her powers?? Like a sylph of breath for example?

I’m pretty sure very Classpect can abuse their powers one way or another. Improving and Making Motion straight up means the Sylph of Breath would be a speedy motherfucker- Wait Breath is Blue- Sonic the Hedgehog is a Sylph of Breath.

How could a Seer of Doom abuse of their power?

By knowing when Bad Things are going to happen, you can kind of avoid said bad things. That being said it’d likely also make for a very paranoid and hypochondriac Seer of Doom but. Yeah. Sounds about right.

Sorry for the many questions about explosions, I'm trying to find a good classpect for a character of mine. Final question about it, though! A Maid of Space, as they are a Make class, would that be fitting for explosions? As they, simply said, "Make Space", making explosions would also count, right?

… Yes actually a Maid would fit it as well as a Prince. Hadn’t even thought about this one. See what I mean when I say Classpects are flexible and if you just stretch the meanings enough you can get any Classpect to do virtually anything? Yeah, Creating a Discharge of Energy is something a Maid of Space would be able to do. Likewise, they could increase the amount of matter somewhere, quickly filling something to bursting and making it explode. So doubly so.

I don't know if someone's submitted this yet, but can you tell me what a Witch of Rage might do in a session/ their powers?

Congrats on sharing Classpects with Sasuke Uchiha. Sorry, callback to yesterday when people bombarded me with Anime Canon Questions. Other than that though, I’ve not mentioned the Witch of Rage before!

The Witch of Rage sounds like someone easily frustrated if they don’t get their way, they may need some help with angry outbursts and just being mad in general. Seeking to Change Chaos or Change through Chaos, sounds like they’d be a determined anarchic force ready to tear down something they deem unfair or incoherent the most direct route- By beating the devil out of it like Bob Ross would do.

If we talk about Familiars, there may be something that’s a source of Rage for them, something in their immediate environment that angers them, which they need to wrestle control from or risk being consumed by in a fit of anger.

Of course, just talking about their powers, the Witch of Rage my Change others’ Rage, either redirecting it somewhere they want, or changing its intensity, being both a good pacifier and an instigator. Finally they may change themselves through Rage, or into something Rage-related… Congratulations on the new Clown Makeup, because as we’ve joked about before, Clowns may as well be the ‘Rage Elemental’ in Homestuck. :o)

what’s the limits of what a mage of light can known , like what information can’t they know and what powers can they use for combat ?

That’s up to you. I know it sounds like a generic answer, but it literally is up to you and what you interpret as Light.

Hmmm thanks for the “generic answer” , though it was true , I see light as a aspect of true information , luck ( or in other terms the chance of positive outcomes ) so a mage of light could know all the information about everything and they cha also know what needs to be done in order to have the most fortunate outcome

Mhmm! It depends on the Mage in question after all, some may be more focused on the overall picture, others may hone in on details but miss on some context or important links between things, it’s all very subjective.

Let me ask you something real meta. What if the Aspects were human? What Class would they have? Obviously Mind would be a Hero of Mind, but what Class? And vice a versa, what Aspect would each Class have? Mage would be a Mage, but a Mage of what? Please answer the Aspects and Classes separately, I'd like to hear your thoughts.

As the Embodiment of each Aspect, I would imagine their Classes to either be the Lord, the Muse, or Both. And likewise, being the Embodiment of the Classes, I could see each of them being just a rainbow of Aspects or flickering between them.

Physical manifestations of the Classes and Aspects. That would be a weird session. I would also like to hear more

Reducing the Classes to their most base components would make them kind of exactly how I described the base personality for the Classes I suppose, but Aspects, I kind of headcanon they’re sort of ultimate Manifestations of the Aspects- Like Echidna being the most Spacey Being that can ever Space, and such.

Rogues carry pouches containing little orbs of their aspect that they've stolen for use as offense. Example, Rogue of Time stealing a bunch of time, since time stretches on forever they can steal as much as they want, and throws a "time bomb" that explodes and causes everything in the blast radius to age until they are dust

That’s a nice concept. Alternatively though, what if the Time Orbs detonate into a Stasis Field, freezing time within a bubble around where it exploded for a set period of time.
