Did elwurd also have some neat eye thing going on? I cant really tell
Doesn’t seem like that. Neither does Mallek.
Doesn’t seem like that. Neither does Mallek.
Rage, maybe? Rage or Void sound like they may be the Glitchiest.
It’d be hard since Videogames are often complex and have various mixes of Aspects. Undertale is Time + Heart, actually, as we see with Davepeta.
Purples are Higher than Cobalt and they’ve got Chucklevoodoos. Maybe the eye is a mutation, but the Mind Control doesn’t necessarily have to be.
I’ve got a feeling Hussie’s gonna clarify more stuff about the Castes and what’s typical and what’s a mutation in Hiveswap.
??? Of course??? It’s literally the first thing he did before anything else was announced?
Seriously though, why the hell is this such a common thing, why do y’all think Hussie had nothing to do with his own dang game? About his Original Setting. Tying in to the story he spent 7 years making.
Yes, but it’d be the same as claiming “Hussie didn’t actually write Homestuck”, for as little as we know about him, that’s what he does.
Equius tears through things like robots and bruises powerful, hulking fauna with a little pat- It doesn’t take much to break silver cutlery, the Indigo Caste can be strong and still not be Equius levels of Strength. On top of that, there’s also stereotyping- If my theory about the Castes being Aspect-bound by their True Aspect and Socially Stereotyped holds up, ‘Blueblood Strength’ may be a big, false stereotype.
Also I’m jumping a step ahead of y’all before you also add the ‘Jadebloods are a rare caste but there’s so many of them in the Troll Call!’ and saying that they’re all most likely in the same area of the game, which will be Jadeblood themed- Whether that’s the caverns or a school as many have theorized, which would account for the high Jadeblood density, and… 40-odd Trolls are not an adequate Sample Size to gauge Caste Rarity when we’re talking about an entire Planet’s worth of people.
Also you’re saying that as if Hussie couldn’t make any inconsistency/retcon something himself. Hell, even if the story was 100% original without any of his input in how it goes, he’s still a part of the team supervising everything.
The secret finally comes out, Hussie’s Soul is actually trapped inside of his Lil Cal Doll.
I mean there’s also Pyrope as a name, Migospel is pretty much an unofficial Makara, and Jade makes a Guest Appearance.

I has hoping for a Violent Ringmaster, but Purple works just as well.
One of the NPCs in Hotland. MTT Hotel to be specific.
Incidentally, the Hotland Music is also just Toby salvaging an old remix he did of Doctor.
“Marvus briefly had a hat on in the TROLL CALL. That wasn’t his actual sign, though. Marvus is a trickster, AKA, a lying piece of shit. You’ll have to wait ‘till ACT 2 to see his actual sign. Never trust a clown, kids. They’re addicted to pranks.“
It would seem you have been tricked, my friend. You played right into the Clown’s tricks. And so did half of the Fandom.
I’ve mentioned a few things before. First of all, I believe the Troll Call isn’t every Troll that will be featured in Act 2- Rather it’s every Major Troll Secondary Troll. There may be other background designs, and there may also be other PRIMARY Characters, such as Fiamet or Cridea, that aren’t released in the Troll Call but do appear in the game.
The other possibility is that, well, this Act is taking place in Landweller Territory. Seadwellers may be more reserved for when we get closer to Trizza and more Regal and Noble places, rather than whatever Murder Circus and Jadeblood School we seem to be headed towards.
I wonder what kind of puzzles we’ll have to solve. I’ve argued before that Act 1 felt a bit like an introductory tutorial to the Strife System and the setting in general. So I do hope they step it up too, but I won’t complain if it’s ‘too easy’ as long as the game’s fun in general.
WhatPumpkin’s page, they reblogged the post to add that. Cohen also just apologized in general for this Week’s Troll Call because, you know how it is.
Void is more than Irrelevance. Sure they can get so irrelevant they fade completely, but like. They could also just steal away the secrets from everyone and everything, or drain the Horrorterrors’ powers. Also, Roxy does struggle with Void- Alcohol. In a way, being the Voidy one sort of lets her be the Voice of Reason and the one that gets Stuff Done in the Session when everyone else is dealing with Awkward Teen Drama, soooo. In that context, it sort of plays in her favor.
Her taking of Void, also, manifests not in becoming Irrelevant, but literally Intangible and Invisible, which is a cool power in general.
“Probably Vriska”
There’s actually a few noticeable conventions Adult Trolls follow with their titles. First of all- The Ancestor Names are titles, and likely more akin to them being remembered as Mythological Figures, rather than actual names. The Handmaid is still Damara Megido, and Mindfang is still Aranea Serket, for example.
Second, the 8-letter convention can be broken, but it’s fun to think of 8-letter names. Her Imperious Condescension is shortened to Condesce, Psioniic, Expatri8, they cheat using Quirks. The Grand Highblood straight up doesn’t follow the rule. It should be noted, that most of the names come from Mindfang’s Jounral, so it’s very likely she’s intentionally making them all 8-letters long.
Third- Lowbloods and Highbloods have different naming conventions. Every single Lowblood has a title that’s basically ‘The X’, while Highbloods have more composite titles. “The Sufferer” “The Disciple” “The Summoner”, for Lowbloods, “Marquise Spinneret Mindfang”, “Executor Darkleer” “Neophyte Redglare” for the Highbloods. It should also be noted that after Darkleer is exiled, he becomes “The Expatriate”, a name fitting the Lowblood convention- And the shortening for Condy is “The Condesce”, which makes me think calling her Condesce is sort of an insult to her Royal Status.
As long as there’s heart behind it, I’d say raw art skill doesn’t quite matter, but you still need to be at least somewhat appealing I’d say.
Mid-to-high-end Midblood. Technically considerable as the lowest of Highbloods if you split the Hemospectrum right at the middle.
I would personally say yes, that would fit a Thief of Void, although the description for the Void Aspect somewhat seems to imply Void Players aren’t necessarily concerned with unravelling the secrets of the world, and Light Players seem to be more focused with that, so… Your call?
Limes and Violets are looking less likely. Fuchsiabloods though- Nope. If there’s any Fuchsia aside from Trizza, it’ll be an extreme anomaly that’s paired with the Rebels for sure.
There’s a bunch of them but like, there’s not that many of them? It’s not like the Troll Call is heavily leaning Cerulean or anything.
I think it might just be Ardata, honestly.
Seems like it’s a power-less caste, like Olives seem to be, but Hiveswap could prove us wrong.
I mean they can breathe underwater, that’s gotta count for something.
Well, they’re still Void Players so they wouldn’t quite care about tearing down obfuscation- They’d just be really good at it. Remember that ‘Through’ is still a thing that applies- You can Steal Through Void rather than Steal Void, and just be super sneaky. Or Destroy Through Void, using nothingness, lack, as a weapon to pretty much Erase something in front of you. Or wield the power of the Horrorterrors as a Knight of Void. There’s a bunch of uses for it. Remember, if there was no Lack, then there wouldn’t be such a thing as Abundance or even Amount. There needs to be a Lack for there to be Something to fill said Lack.
Do you look for outside sources, or go more for your intuition? Do you guide others to do stuff, or trust your instincts to do things yourself more? Are you more comfortable working for the benefit of others, or will you not give your all unless you’re getting benefited?
Skaia knows from the start exactly what your true Heart is, and assigns what will suit you best in life- Perhaps not at the moment, but definitely your most comfortable ‘you’, what comes most naturally.
You could fill the obscene amount of code combinations the Captcha System gives us just with Tea.
In-depth, it’s more explained in my description of the individual Classes. And more broadly… Well, one Knows and the other Changes. One is focused on attaining information regarding something, and finding ways to give said information use, while the Change classes are more concerned with manipulation of their Aspect and modification of things.
Most of people’s prejudice comes from the fact the Fandom got big and had bad stuff like pretty much any Fandom of that size, it’s like disliking Undertale for the Fandom and not getting into the game even though it’s a beautiful Game with a lot of cool things. For Homestuck specifically, though?

Genuinely nice to look at and really great art (Not even counting the amazing Guest Art not drawn by Hussie), with memorable, easily-identifiable characters whose clothes and colors work as symbols to recognize them, but still leaving them vague enough to headcanon their race, body type and other such features that give birth to a wide range of Headcanons and make the characters more relatable.
Actual LGBT Representation ranging from an explicitly Gay man to a married Lesbian couple, to a questioning Aro/Ace Kid and a frustrated Bi guy, a Poly relationship (Perhaps even more), at least an explicitly Nonbinary character, and plenty of room for Trans Headcanons even though canonically there’s no hard evidence mentioned about this, sadly.

A Deep and Complex set of systems meant to allow the Fandom to make Self-Inserts and understand Characters and Themselves on a Deeper Level, as well as fantasize, draw and write about the vast malleability of the setting itself and the opportunities it presents to the reader.
Characters that are deep and relatable- They’re all just a bunch of fun and endearing weirdos, that go through very Human struggles, everything from Abandonment and Abuse to Existential Crisis and the Loss of your Self, the way you fit in the world as a Person…
Engaging Time Travelling Mechanics that keep you theorizing and guessing what’s going to happen next, and a deep, complex plot that seems daunting at first but is actually surprisingly easy to follow through if you take your time reading through it, and even easier to follow if you have a friend to read along with.
Great Animations for climatic or important events with a rather unique style, and incredible music by very talented artists like Malcom Brown, Tensei, James Roach, Toby Fox, and others.
Breathtaking Fanart and Fanfiction of all Kinds by the Fandom that oh so lovingly sticks with this story because it’s gripping and genuinely good.
And more depth than it may seem at first glance from a silly Webcomic- With its genre switching, the deep themes it touches and its heavy symbolism, sudden dramatic turns and switcheroos back to humorous charades, it keeps you entertained whether you’re just a casual fan trying to piece the story, to a big theorist trying to find out why certain things happen, to a more in-depth analyst trying to view the story through the lens of a Gnostic Creation Myth.
It’s a Niche story, it’s Long, but honestly, it’s so fucking worth it to give it a try, sure the beginning may seem asinine if you don’t understand how it parodies the CYOA Webcomic Genre or how people actually submit commands back in the day, and Hussie’s style is a bit eccentric, and definitely word-heavy, but the fact Homestuck keeps coming back is a testament to the impact it leaves on people, to the themes touched upon by the story and its sheer depth.
And sure, it’s not perfect by any means, but it’s also one of those things that you simply cannot say is Objectively Bad by any stretch of the imagination.
Also I would’ve posted more screenshots exemplifying stuff or gone more in depth about some stuff, specially the LGBT mentions, buuuuut I didn’t want to go super-specific in case, you know. Spoilers. (You may notice I chose 4 panels that are aesthetically pleasing but have nothing too spoilery without context)
As for Hiveswap, it’s a charming Point and Click Adventure game with great characters, lovely designs, superb music and just an overall great, crazy and nostalgic vibe, and it’s still ongoing and WhatPumpkin is engaging with the Fandom rather wonderfully as of late! So. There’s that.
I’ve only had infusions, not actually like, tea, and never tried coffee either, so I wouldn’t know.
I once tried to give each Charm my own headcanon interactions but I gave up half-way. It’s obviously played up as a joke, but at least we can be pretty sure that a Horseshoe-Balloon-Pot of Gold relationship is the ‘Bondage Leprechaun Trove’

It’s not about Ignorance, rather Secrecy and Obscurity. By the names of the Extended Zodiac, Void seems to be related more to Philosophy than to Hard Science or Robotics- But you could make the point that Void is the Material World. With Light as the World of Ideas, Void represents the World of Darkness ruled over by Yaldabaoth, that which is Material. That being said, it could also be a coincidence.
Slowing or Speeding up Time and messing with the Timeline in such ways is always a possibility. I believe I’ve talked about the Witch more in detail before, and compared them to the Maid, which is why I haven’t gone specially in-depth with this one. Manipulating the flow of Time is always interesting, though.
Exactly! Homestuck provides a set of hyperflexible tools to develop your OCs- The powers the Classpects grant as well as their personality traits, the Sylladex, Strife Deck and Alchemy System give them the Freedom to personalize everything to their liking, their Land and Quest reflects challenges made personally for them, Time Shenanigans that allow the exploration of various routes and paths things could have gone, even just the text color and typing quirks add so much personality to a character.
Appreciated.
When a System is more in Depth like the Classpect System, determining your Classpect really is just doing introspection and getting to know yourself better.
No clue, I’d have to look up about Bug Anatomy and how the circulatory system of animals with different Blood Colors work to compare.
If I recall, there was Concept Art of some creepy Carnival on Alternia, and Meenah and (Vriska) visited a memory of something similar once. Even if the Dark Carnival didn’t exist on Alternia, though, it certainly did on Alpha Earth after Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope became Dual Juggalo Presidents of the United States.
Land stuff doesn’t necessarily correlate to one single Classpect- The people mentioning theirs are extrapolating from their Classpect rather than the other way around actually, so I couldn’t say anything about it. That being said, sounds like Marriage Land.
I actually do!

Look at this little devil in the eye and tell me it’s not a Makara.
The thing to have as a distinction here is that Heirs don’t ‘become’ their Aspect directly. You would have more luck saying Maids are the ones that Become their Aspect, or rather, are ‘Made out of It’, and even then the interpretation is sort of joke-y at times, but still noticeably there. Either way- This ‘Heirs become their Aspect’ comes from the fact that they are, indeed, very malleable, and as John Proves, he can even change himself into Wind- Or rather the Breeze Changes him. Sure, he can poof at will, but the very first time we see it is very much an automatic reaction to protect him- Just like the Windy Thing several times during the Session prior to his Ascension. They also ‘Become their Aspect’ in the fact they are CONSUMED by it if they cannot control it- Equius being voided out to the point his blood is used to blot out information, Mituna- Relevant as a Heir of Doom, being Consumed by the burning of his Psiioniics, while protecting from some Doom that was going to befall the Session…
As such, what would the Heir of Doom do? Change Doom, and be Changed by Doom, and Changing Through Doom. They’d be the ones to hold the power to both allow Doom to take over everything, or Change their grim fates by protecting everyone from Doom. Mituna knew shit was going to go down, and tried to warn the others, but Knowing and Guiding is not his forte- He’s knot a Seer after all. As a Heir, he was the only one who could STOP whatever calamity was going to happen, take direct action against it. And as we see, not only did he Change the sure Doom that was going to harm everyone- He Changed it through his own Doom, an act of self-sacrifice to protect those he cared about.
But I know what you want. ‘Becoming Doom’ didn’t mean you wanted the specifics of how Heirs Change, or to go into detail how technically that sacrifice of his own mind is in itself Becoming Doom. You want the cool equivalent of John poofing into wind but for a Doom Player. And I’ve argued in the past- Either lightning or fire- Specially Fire, could be associated with Doom. Technology and Psiioniics tend to be linked as well, so maybe ‘Becoming Doom’ means fading into a burst of flames a-la devil, or maybe they’d be kind of a glitchy entity that zaps into sparks of electricity or collapses into Code Itself.
If we ever bump into each other on MSPARP, you’ll know.
One of the few Homestuck RP Sites.
Hmm, going by what we see with Damara’s Cardinal Movement, it does seem like Time Players from Post and Pre Scratch Counterparts do have similar structures, so likely a Beat Mesa. It’s thematic too so that’s good- That being said, I like to think there’s only one Scratch Construct per Universe, sort of like “You may Reset it. ONCE.”
Definitely would work, and now I’m curious if analyzing characters from that kind of shows would yield a high amount of Heart, Mind, Light and Void-bound characters.
To anyone who sends me jokey or silly Asks that I don’t post, I generally genuinely get a chuckle out of those! However if I cannot think of anything funny to add or I find it a bit weird (Or you catch me in a bad mood), I won’t quite reply to it. Just in case I was coming to some of you jokesters as humorless. :V
