Hi, I probably just missed it, but is there anywhere I could find the descriptions of all of the classes for your quiz?

Yep.

Would a rouge of rage, manifesting the rage they steal as a physical weapon be too edgy?

I mean I like the idea of a Hope Player manifesting Hope as some holy light weaponry and armor with wings, so it’d be fitting for Rage to have an opposite. That sounds more Thief-y though but a Rogue could work for sure.

I like the idea of Mages or Seers of Void going through a whole self-realized Socratic Ignorance arc, like an "All I know is that I know nothing" kind of thing? Perhaps some starting out as insufferable know-it-alls, only to eventually be humbled by the Void aspect, and accept that it's alright not to know all the answers. This doesn't apply to all of them, of course, but I feel it would make an interesting character idea.

Oooh that’s a cool idea.

Would the lands of the alpha trolls have the same initials as that of the beta trolls'? Like Damara's planet would still be LOQAM?

Not just the initials- By the look of the Scratch Construct and Damara’s Quartz Blocks, it’s arguable their Lands were exactly the same. Kind of a boring idea, but I guess Hussie didn’t want to think of 12 new Lands. We can still headcanon new cool Lands though!

Would it be a problem if a session has more on passive players than active? Or more prospit than derse?

Not necessarily.

I have a headcanon that Heirs of Hope have a quest where it's similar to Jesus' story . By the end of all of it, they get crucified on a cross that is actually their quest bed and god tier.

That’s kind of morbid.

Guess you could call The Meowrails death Crying over spilt milk

I swear to God I will burn your anime figurines down.

I have a lot of questions/thoughts regarding the alpha timeline vs. the narrative, which I might try to properly write out and express sometime soon, but for now: what do you think about the idea that Aranea misunderstood her own powers, and instead of restoring the relevance of the GO doomed timeline to the alpha timeline, she restored it's relevance to the narrative? So instead of impacting LE in any way, what she achieved was diverging the story from the alpha timeline?

That’s a way to see it, however I should point out that, Aranea didn’t manage to even start her plan to make the GO! Timeline more Alpha. Her idea was to get rid of everything, then once she was the only person left, basically use her powers permanently on that Timeline, for the rest of time, to overwrite the Alpha. While you could talk about the effect she did have on the Timeline and the extent of Aranea’s powers, she never got to the part where she could actually try to make the GO! Timeline into the Alpha one. She died before the important part of her plan started.

I just realized, Rose's tome that Callie owns is probably a paradox. Her future self probably told Rose about it when she got in Earth C's non-desolate future. Which means that it could be possible the tome is inaccurate? Like the gender-lock, passive and active and all of that jazz.

I don’t think Rose wrote any more into the tome AFTER they left the Meteor, otherwise it would have no reason to actually have been left in the Meteor. Besides, I doubt Rose wrote specifically about Class and Aspect Passive/Active or Gender stuff, the Gender Lock is just Callie making theories about the Classpect based on the stuff she has seen- Gendered words, Class-Gender Distribution, and coming to her conclusions about that stuff.

If that's the case then how the hell does she know Thief and Rouge are female leaning?

Every Thief so far and 2 out of 3 Rogues have been gals- Callie knows Roxy’s Class and Rose likely wrote about the Ghosts in the Bubbles as well, since Callie does know about Meenah. By the gender split she’s seen, and knowing Thief and Rogue are an Active-Passive pair, it’s fair to assume Thieves and Rogues are mostly girls, but having Rufioh as the outlier- And if Rogues can be both genders, it’d be weird to have one Class not gender-locked and the active counterpart locked like that.

Tbh I’m a huge fan of alchemizing god tiers blood and symbolic parts (like eyes for a seer) to get empowered items, like nothing close to the level of the godtier but say your dead player killer void seers eye got alchemized with a pair of glasses you would get x ray vision or ability to see what’s missing or something

Christ, I’m SURE you could get Aspect and Class symbolic items without resorting to like. Dismembering and harvesting the organs of your dead God Tier friend.

I mean YEAH I don’t Have to dismember them and I don’t want to but still... I feel like it’s a guaranteed item

Fair enough. We also KNOW it DOES WORK because of the Troll Blood Gamzee sells, at least Equius’ is notably Void-coded, so it’d make sense everyone else’s also ties to their Aspect.

I think I mostly understand Cal's timeline now, but there's still one thing that doesn't really make sense. Dirk's Cal is empty, and there's a nice traceable path from that to the Masterpiece where it's filled. But isn't Bro's Cal already full which is why he was such an abusive shit? How is the difference possible when Dirk and Bro both arrive with the same Cal after the scratch splits the timeline?

See- The thing is that, while it’s highly likely Bro did hear Cal’s whispers and was mildly influenced by Caliborn, Bro being a piece of shit is inherent to Dirk. His main struggle is repressing his controlling tendencies and knowing the fact that, if left unchecked, he could’ve become a really huge asshole, but that his love for his friends and his attempts to better himself are constant. Just like how Mom fell in to alcoholism, just like how Grandpa isolated himself, Bro represents what Dirk had to overcome and not be like, and putting the blame entirely on Lil Cal, SPECIALLY knowing Bro wears shades and shades are the universal symbol of blocking out mind-controlling whispers, would be refusing to see the flaws Dirk sees on himself and how they affect him.

Okay but in many mythos there is this "body parts have mysterious properties" and have gods growing things with their tears and etc. How about Maid of Void with blood that causes blindness when ingested in exchange for forbidden magics. Or tears of heir of life that cause one's body to grow as tough as steel. Hair of Seer of Light that if vowen into string, will lead to the safest path. Or saliva of Bard of Mind that causes one to go mad.

As much as I like something like this in comparison to old myths and such, please let’s slow down this train of thought before we start considering cannibalizing other God Tier friends in exchange for forbidden God Tier Powers.

Aspect related to languages and classpects that might learn other people's language in a short span of time

Classpects, no idea. Language doesn’t seem clearly split into a single Aspect after all. Breath could link to Voice, and as such, to talked language. Different languages may relate to different Aspects as well, for example, certain languages with Logograms could be Space or even Life, since they’re depicting things as seen in nature. Light is an obvious one as well.

The recent asks bring to mind old discussions of Thieves as the Vore class

Thieves ARE the Vore Class though.

...Isn't this a part of mythos? I get you concern. But we can still keep it relatively non-cannibalistic. You need to be a Thief of Heart for just eating to steal majicks. Let's assume that a GT must have an intent to infuse their body-parts with aspect majicks.

I just got done memeing about Thief as the Vore Class and you come with this about the Thief of Heart, thanks. In all seriousness, I don’t actually like, mind the cannibalistic talk or stuff like that, but it’s fun making it seem like I’m alarmed at the direction the conversation is talking to add something fun to the post.

Since crows were often considered an omen of death, would Heir of Doom be able to turn into murder of crows?

I mean, Omen of Death or not, Crows are still sort of living beings so maybe Life would suit better? Then again- Doom IS the complementary to Life, so maybe it’d work.

if someone is put into a sprite, when they go through walls, it leaves that slime. The slime has properties of their aspect. (Nannasprite making healing slime, because life, and john using it to make healing gushers)

Oh, that IS true! I forgot entirely about the ecto-goo Sprites leave.

… Which actually raises other questions like. Can Sprites actually go through people as well? And, are they like. Slimy to the touch?

… I had never quite considered this about Sprites and I am suddenly fascinated.

I remember having a hc that a Heir can protect themselves by turning into aspect while Witches envelope themselves into armor of aspect... And suddenly. Armor that is just a bunch of angels wrapped around. Or helpful spirits. Or armor made of angry immortal crows. Or ... armor made from clowns strapped to a wooden plank...

I am not quite sure about this, but “Armor made from clowns strapped to a wooden plank” is the best mental image I’ve had all month.

Paradox Space seems to work on platonic concepts so I think it is save to assume that if something has a clearly enstabilished symbolism it might end up being assosiated with certain aspect. Like alcohol and Void or eyes and Light.

That is true, however there is some overlap between symbols and Aspects. The 12 Aspects are the building blocks of everything Paradox Space is made of, including thoughts and concepts, but not everything is made of just one Aspect. There may be a more predominant Aspect for some things- Such as Rage for Clowns and Carnivals and such imagery, but they’re not the only thing exclusive there.

I mean the idea if crows or deseases have questionable doominness due to being lively is not that different from saying "clowns have questionable raginness since they are alive". Apologies, if I misinterpreted your words.

I meant, Life and Doom are a Complementary Pair, and contrary to what many people think, the Aspect Pairs aren’t necessarily ‘opposite’, and have a lot more in common than people give then credit for. Alt Calliope herself tells us this.

how would a Muse of Light command that aspect? it makes sense if Light is luck, but the extended zodiac made Light seem like it's entirely knowledge-based.

I’ve talked about them before, but indeed, the Extended Zodiac makes no mention to luck, yet we do know Light = Luck, which opens the doors to Aspects relating to more stuff than the Canon Quiz told us if we look into it, they’re expansive and not quite finite after all.

I'm just imagining the aspect armor idea, would looking at Light armor be like looking at the sun? I can't imagine it being much of anything but blindingly bright, though that brings another idea to mind: Light player and friends are stuck someplace really dark, someone tells the Light player "Yo, turn your armor on!" suddenly it's like someone installed a mini sun in there, minus the heat and gravity, and then in the middle of battle they don't get hit, because all the enemies are blind now

Pft. Alternatively, their armor has the highest LUCK stat in the Session, duh.

Seeing there talk about alchemizing items with properties linked to an aspect, I don’t think it would at all have to be body parts of the God Tier. I always thought maybe the outfits would give an item a quality similar to the aspect of he outfit, or at least make it really comfy. (Also because using dead friends to make cool gear is a morbid concept.)

Yeah, we’ve talked about that already, but the person asking was specifically interested in Player body parts being infused with Class/Aspect powers, which. Yeah? Kinda works.

It’s a shame that we don’t get to fully see each aspect explored in comic. We don’t really get to see what blood or doom’s literal powers are. Like breath is literally the breeze, time is the ability to time travel, and almost every other aspect’s practical uses have been shown except for blood and doom. They always seemed very passive, as I don’t really know how one would use doom or death, because every aspect can cause death. Would blood be like physical blood, and if so, what would that do?

Physical Blood is literally Blood. Blood Magic or Red-Miles-like attacks could definitely be a thing. I’ve argued about Doom being tied to Fire, and perhaps lightning, as well as the possibility of pestilence and sort of plague mists and the like. It may also have ties to Psionic energy itself. But yeah I’d love seeing Hussie’s take on everything, just like, some big exposition from the man himself.

Rage is also one of those Aspects, you may think literally getting angry and going berserk counts, but like, that’s still an emotion, conceptual stuff. Literal Rage seems to be tied to storms if we go by the titles of the Extended Zodiac, so maybe Rage is the lightning-tied one. There’s a lot of stuff to have in mind with the more conceptual Aspects.

How about the more literal aspects of Heart? We’ve seen Dirk ripping out souls, but that’s likely more related to his class as a prince than just the aspect as well. Of course we know more about it than Blood and Doom, but it’s still a little bit lacking.

With Heart is the Souls, it wasn’t the ripping of the Soul, rather the fact he could directly interact with Aranea’s Soul at all. Similarly, being ‘awake’ at the ‘same time’ both on Earth and Derse, the multiplicity of iterations of Dirk, that’s a bit more obtuse but still sort of plays into the Literal Heart territory I feel.

I have this HC that GT clothes are actually are in some sense, part of body. They regenerate with you, not only restore when you ressurect. Like, you can even move a cape after some practice with your will alone. Like, some Maids do the spiderman or Attack on Titan thing but with leg bandages. Or Thiefs who snatch goodies with those long... what even are those. It gets a bit weird since you can take those clothes off. And give someone else...

And Alchemize them too. Dave mentions they’re magic and self-cleaning, and with the God Tier resurrection I’m rather sure they’re self-repairing as well indeed, but I don’t know if I’d call them an extension of one’s body. Instead I’d imagine them as a very easy to manipulate tool if anything? Like- Aizawa’s scarf thing in BnHA.

Which aspect is linked to Horror Hunger the most? Void and Life seem like obvious bets but... which is more suitable in your opinion? Or is it something else?

I had NO idea what Horror Hunger was, thanks TVTropes. Sadly an Aspect is not going to cut it, because Horror Hunger is a very specific scenario- Human-hungry superhuman creatures is a thing, the insatiable drive to consume Humans for survival and drain them to become more powerful, that sounds more like a power, a combo of Class and Aspect. Straight away I can think of the Thief of Life, draining something’s life or life force to strengthen yourself and live on.

Speaking of which, I’ve seen people confused at my statement of the Thief being the Vore Class a few moments ago, let me clarify with this example. Thieves take from others for their own benefit, which is the basis of eating. So it’s a popular joke that Thieves would be have the power of Vore.

why would caliborn's god tier outfit not fix itself afyer john rips it up?

Little shithead doesn’t deserve a full cape.

In all seriousness, likely because he hasn’t died? Like, God Tier Healing is Resurrection, not a Healing Factor. The only thing that grants a Healing Factor seems to be the Ring of Life. So if we’re going by the Clothes -> Body Part comparison, the cape ripping is just a wound. It’s not lethal so there’s no repairing.

Idk this HC about pjs as extensions of body was somewhat influenced by One Last God Kubera and maybe some other works I don't remember. Silmarillion with its "Ainur usually wear bodies like we wear clothes so clothes on those bodies are often just extension of said bodies since all of that are clothes anyway" thing? Whatever

Huh, I had no idea that was a thing. Also let me take this chance to add, there’s ALSO the possibility of God Tier clothes not repairing, and rather, being formed. Vriska and Meenah sort of changed into their God Tier outfit by powering up, so it’s likely God Tiers can just. Will their clothes onto their bodies? Makes it convenient to not be caught naked if someone barges into the bathroom right after you’re done showering.

Well, I guess horror hunger was just too specific? My wording sometimes can be odd. But maybe just average insatiable terrible hunger thing? Like what aspect is the most hunger like... But I really like what you already said on the Horror Hunger trope.

Life, all the way. It’s not just the ‘living thing’ itself- Life IS heavily tied to consumption. Baked goods specifically, but most likely food in general, is very Life-coded.

The power of Void is that no matter how much you eat you never get fat. The power of Life is that you can stomach anything and it is always COMPLETELY digested by your body.

Little Aspect-based biology headcanons like that are always interesting.

With gt clothes being formed by will, then you know every time I change into my god tier clothes I’d do a dramatic super long magical girl transformation every time. With musical accompaniment. It’s just right

Literally nothing stopping you from doing exactly that! Snrk, I love the idea actually, specially if you’ve modified your GT clothes to be more Magical Girl-like.

why are trolls so weird about buckets?

Because Troll Reproduction is weird.

Explain this please: Prince of Doom, destroying doom I understand. It's kind of like saving people right? But destroying THROUGH doom, that is an odd concept to destroy through destruction.

Isn’t that even more straight forward? Doom embodies a lot of bad stuff, so Destroying using Doom is probably the easiest thing you can do with it.

I’m just gonna. Pair all of these together.

So I have doubts of whether I am Light aspect or Breath and I want a kind of outside point of view on my dilemma. I consider myself Breath but Im a naturally curious person so I usually know interesting facts about a lot of things and like to know them(light) but the thing is, I usually learn about those because I knowingly procrastinate on doing thigs I should do and not because I actively seek the knowledge? I just coincidentally get it as a consequence of my uh detachment? Or not? Im in doubt

Go for Light, I’d say.

You can’t just change the way your entire species reproduces. Condy tried to actually do that. That being said, it’s very much likely the buckets are just an aide in the process to deliver the genetic material to the Mother Grub.

Note, they don’t ‘fuck over a bucket’ and they don’t ‘feed it to a giant grub’, I’d imagine it more akin to. Artificial, assisted insemination. To a giant grub with a skull face with luscious lips. And we have no idea what Trolls even. Have or how they fill buckets.

Y’all wanted to get filthy Troll Reproduction talk? We’re doing this bros. We’re making this happen. God I’m really giving the nsfw tag a workout today.

With that ask about Breath players' bodies acting lighter than they are, they must be lightweight when it comes to the drink

Badum-PSSH.

if Damara is anything to go by Trolls can at least have sex like humans

Curiously enough, Meenah not being sure why the 8=D emote feels so wrong but knowing something is off, and Horuss showing himself absolutely oblivious to it, seems to imply Troll Genitalia does differ from Human. Or that both of them are ironically super innocent and not lewd minded.

Hi! Light/Breath dilemma anon! So if you say light... could you maybe explain a sylph of light better? If you havent already? I just dislike Aranea so much?? and that is kind of why i was for breath and not light? I related more to John and Tavros hell even Rufioh even before I thought about classpecting myself and the Serkets are just... not? My jam? Ugh sorry for bothering

I did answer the Sylph of Light! Over here. If you do share Classpects with someone that used their powers for bad deeds, however, don’t feel discouraged- Instead, use it as spite. Fuel your drive knowing you can be better than the Serkets.

should we question weapons like the WRINKLE FUCKER!!!?

Why question perfection?

do you think any classpects would be capable of power-copying? a thief or a rogue would be the natural choice for the class but i cant come up with any aspects that really work

I don’t really know about power-copying, but I have argued, for copying God Tier powers, the most likely option would be a Thief of Heart. Power Copying is a Thief Skill though, Rogue as well- We see Condy actually stealing the powers of the entire Troll Caste.

(1/2) If we're talking about troll reproduction, here's my headcanon: everyone we consider trolls are the same biological sex, analogous to earth males, that produce many, many small reproductive cells (equivalent to human semen). The mother grub is the 'female' of the species (along with imperial drones that are probably equivalent to sterile worker bees, but still the same biological species), who is fertilised by the reproductive material of the trolls, and then produces offspring.

(2/2) So all trolls have one parent in common (the mother grub), one unique parent (their ancestor), then also probably also undergo minor genetic recombination with other embryos in the mother grub, in a similar way to how bacteria swap genetic material through plasmids. This seems to hold up pretty well to canon knowledge 😊

God, we really, finally did it, didn’t we? We’re here, talking about Troll Anatomy in this blog, and about how Trolls Reproduce. I’ve always considered Drones to be actually manufactured by the Alternian Empire, biomechanical creatures as seems to be most of Troll’s Technology, with a more visibly Mechanical sway on Earth because Earth is more about robotics than about biorobotics, giving more credibility for that. Mother Grubs, being Lusii, seem to be a different species than Trolls altogether, although I do remember reading about these bees I believe? Or bee-like insects, where there was something similar, maybe. The world of bugs is extremely weird.

Canonically, I’m not sure what Hussie was going for- I don’t know if he was going for anything specifically. But as for my Headcanons… The sexual dimorphism (That makes absolutely no sense because, bug breasts) seems to indicate a difference in gender among the Trolls, which would put the Mother Grub as either a third gender, if we’re going by your theory. And if we go by my favorite theory- Trolls are actually a Parasitic Insectoid Species that entered a symbiotic Relationship with the Mother Grubs, and co-evolved with them to the point they are co-dependent right now.

I understand why Jane had a cupcake and Jake had a pumpkin, but why did Roxy and Dirk have Cotton candy and soda?

Dirk likes orange Soda, and Roxy’s was foreshadowing she has the hots for Jane.

Seriously though, no idea, Hussie likely went with the Food Items he thought would fit them the best. Hell- Did Hussie design Trickster Roxy? First instance of Trickster Roxy was the art Calliope made for her, which was by Shelby, so it may have been a joint effort, and Shelby’s choice to choose Cotton Candy, maybe.

I want to rp homestuck with my friends but none of them like role-playing or homestuck and whenever they do it with me its "boring" when I find it fun. What do I do?

Find new RP buddies, it’s the only think I can advise.

Okay so reminder to people sending me anon messages, I will post mildly NSFW stuff and talk about NSFW topics, as long as they relate to Canon, and tagged accordingly to be filtered out as needed, but I would prefer if your talk about Troll Biology wasn’t so graphic.

We all know about the Tentacle Bulge headcanons. We all do.

However I WILL reply to any sort of question if you send your message off-anon or send me a PM! It’s just that, well, maybe I am a bit too dirty minded, but some of the stuff you’re sending is, in the immortal worlds of Dave Strider,

image

So yeah. I’d rather keep the blog a bit cleaner. I say, after posting Codpiece Gamzee a few weeks ago.

Where do I find new rp buddies who I can trust to not leave?

That, my friend, is the question every RPr asks themselves. And it’s your quest to find the answer.

3/2 (Sorry, I underestimated how long this would be.) The "Incestous Slurry" is then given to the Mother Grub, who is somehow fertilized with it. She then lays an egg, or Matriorb. This Matriorb is then cared for deep underground by Jade Bloods in the brooding caverns. Eventually it hatches an entire generation of grubs. These grubs must then find there way out of the brooding caverns on there own, and the ones who survive are chose by Lusii. The Lusii then raises them to be a member of society.

Okay I’m posting part 3 because it’s not nearly as graphic as the other two parts, and because there’s two misconceptions here I’d like to clear up! The Mother Grub doesn’t ‘lay an egg or the Matriorb’, given the Matriorb is what spawns the Mother Grub, and it’s heavily implied there’s only one fertile Mother Grub (At least on Alternia, was it ever stated if there were other Breeder Colonies? I’d imagine a Warmongering Spacefaring race such as the Trolls would need a lot of numbers), it’s likely the Matriorb is only laid at the end of their lifespan, or, as Kanaya did, needs to be extracted after death.

The other misconception is that the Mother Grub doesn’t lay ‘one egg’ from which an entire generation of Grubs hatches.

She lays several thousand of them.

image

Incidentally, this is also the only time we see the size of the Mother Grub, or at least the rear of the Mother Grub, with one leg lightly visible.

Also the Eggs are shaped like Ant Eggs.
