Do you think a Lord of Rage would have serious anger issues?

I feel most Rage Players COULD have anger issues, but not necessarily so.

what do you think would happen if you prototyped an imp before entering somehow

That may actually work as a debuff for the tougher enemies.

in a fight i think a Prince of Rage can just defeat opponents by destroying their anger and fire to go on and they just sit down and sip some motherfucking tea and chill the fuck out. it'd be awesome

I feel the Prince of Rage’s disposition may just make it so that fights like that just don’t even start to begin with.

so does a Prince of Rage beat everyone?

Not necessarily.

What are your interpretations of what the personalities of Mind, Heart, Life, and Doom players? What would be the defining characteristics of these people? How would you know for sure if someone was one of those aspects? Are there characteristics that all players of those aspects have(respectively, not all 4 in one)?

Honestly when I think about the Aspect personalities, by themselves, I tend to take the canon characters and the Canon Quiz, so there’s not really much of a take I have to them other than just…

This.

1)Could you please help me Hero Title my mentor who is a Seer? He's a businessman whose goal is to help people achieve their dreams and success. He even helps high school students. It's not just business, it many other aspects of life. He helps find happiness in general, whether it's relationships or hobbies. He's really more of a life couch than just a businessman. Sounded like Life to me but then there's Mind.

2)He loves Psychology, he’s favorite subject, and that’s what he studied first in college. He psychoanalysis everyone and his personality shifts to be similar to whichever friend he’s with. He’s very choice contentious and hard on himself when wrong. He once brought an extra pizza that was vegetarian to a party just in case someone was vegetarian. Life or Mind? I love and appreciate your work here; thank you for answering my questions so far.

Thanks! This one is a bit specific, but, of the two, I would say a Seer of Life perhaps? I personally feel either Life or maybe even Hope would work well, but from what you’ve said, Life is good.

Concept: an inverted version of grimdarkness called direbrightness. Thoughts?

Do you mean, Jollybrightness.

You know when the alpha kids get into trickster mode and how Jake made a pumpkin out of hope but I don’t think we ever see dirk use trickster powers so why is that

Because he’s so fucking done with everyone all he wants to do is crawl back into a hole and curl up until Trickster Mode is over.

Also roxy never has been showed to have trickster powers either

I mean, the first thing she did was start drinking alcohol again disregarding nearly 6 months of sobriety because Trickster Mode makes you awful like that, and ‘Taking Void’ definitely fits that. What I’m trying to say is, Rogue of Void Trickster Powers are you being able to drink even more booze.

how would a prince or bard of light operate? on one hand, they could use light to destroy, or "invite destruction through" light, but how about destroying light? would they literally cause misfortune to their group? or cause important information to be lost? is there a positive side to destroying light?

If I recall I’ve answered the Bard and/or Prince of Light, because I remember having mentioned how they’d literally be able to blind people by destroying Light. Causing a black-out, definitely destroying vital information, and causing misfortune by destroying luck. And, again, as I’ve mentioned with the Thief of Hope before- These more destructive powers are good to fight people. If you aim them at a baddy instead to your group, you’re fine. Otherwise you could see some piece of information that could breach the unity of the group, and destroy it- Sometimes the Truth hurts after all.

how is ectobiology necessary for a successfull game?

You need to breed Frogs. Also if you create a new Universe, chances are you’re going to have to repopulate through Ectobiology, because there’s just not enough… Diversity in the gene pool of a Session to really repopulate, I don’t think at least.

how would jollybrightness work?

I mean it’s the Hope Overload. If you’re saying a more Light-version of Grimdarkness, though, it’d likely have to be a boon granted by Skaia itself.

Let's say that two dreamselfsprites fuse into one ^2 sprite. What would happen if the living versions of those players ascended to god tier at the same time?

Depends on whether Skaia considers them still two individual beings merged, or if the Sprite Squared status grants them the status of being a single, new person. Wouldn’t ascend if it’s the latter, likely, and would likely just ascend one of the two if it’s the former.

saw your jollybrightness post and was wondering the effects itd have on a lord of hope???

I mean, as I said, the Hopexplosion isn’t a state where you get a power up like Grimdarkness- Jollybrightness is just a silly name because it’s thematically kind of the opposite? But where Grimdarkness grants you Voidy Powers and buffs you, the Hopexplosion seems more like… Releasing the Hope Energy that’s already there. Powering up. Lord or Page of Hope, if they can pull off a Hopexplosion, it’d be exactly the same. It’s not a state- It’s a skill.

What light class would say "you are wrong here is an organized list why (with sources!)" But when asked a question would be like "idk man it might be this"? (In other words, only applies themself when fighting someone on the internet)

I’m thinking a Witch, but it could really be pretty much anyone with enough of a stretch, including non-Light Classes.

《 Dreamless anon from a while back》 I heard something about taping your mouth shut to dream (I think it's to breath through your nose or something) and I'm out of options and money. Time to try it! I will report back when I wake up.

Please don’t, don’t risk choking in your sleep for a dream.

can you tell me about what rage means, it's symbolism in Homestuck and its abilities since i cant really tell in the comic

There’s literal Rage and Anger, there’s tearing apart Falsehoods and going after True Beliefs, there’s Anarchy and Nonconformism, but in the context of Homestuck, Rage also manifests itself as things being absolutely Bullshit. In Gamzee’s case, for example, he abuses a plot shield we don’t even know why he even has until the Masterpiece for the entire comic. Narrative Contrivance, much like how Rage Players tear down false beliefs, they also abuse the nature of the story as, well. That. A story. And force us to peek behind the curtain and roll our eyes at how bullshit some things are.

How is Dave shown serving?

The usage of the word ‘Serve’ is not arbitrary, Dave is heavily tied to Serving, as the literal Server for Rose and Jade, and also aiding them in everything he can- Serving Rose a Map of the Furthest Ring through his knowledge of Time, Serving Jade in her endeavor to gather the Frogs, Serving Terezi money that he’s gathered through his Time Loops. Literally spending Time and using his Time Powers to Serve everyone. Similarly, Pages being tied to the Butler Island joke as well, makes the Knight-Page pair obvious, and the most likely intended purpose for them to be ‘Serving’, ‘Aiding’ and ‘Giving’.

Is Doom being associated with coding a thing?

~ATH is an explicitly Doom-Coded Programming Language, and Technology tends to be associated with Doom, so yes, yes it is. (Which, fittingly as a Seer of Doom, I also like Coding)

Could the same overload as you've been saying happen with other classes? If so what do you think that could be for classes such as breath and blood or heart and mind?

Other Aspects could have sort of Limit Breaks for their powers like the Hope-y Jollybrightness, yes. Void is obvious. Life may be something similar to the Trickster Mode, or at least the effects it has on Jane that makes her able to like. Reflourish half of her planet with one jump. You could argue John’s use of the Windy Thing coming from him to extinguish LOWAS was a similar state. Blood may be something akin to the Red Miles. Mind may be a bit more abstract for that kind of thing… We don’t have much of an example regarding the other Classes’ more flashy Aspectxplosions.

are negative feelings (sadness, depression, existential dread, etc.) more associated with Rage or Doom?

It’s. Hard to say, actually kind of a case by case basis, I wouldn’t be able to make a simple divide between the two. Emotional suffering, despair, seems more Doom-tied, but some negative emotions definitely tie in nicely to Rage.

What's the difference between Breath and Life? I know they're both associated with free will, but it's hard to find an in-depth distinction.

Breath ties in to being unbound. Detached, and while tied to Freedom, it isn’t necessarily restricted to physical Freedom- Not being attached to something or someone, abstracting yourself. “Room to Breathe” and “Head in the Clouds” are two good sentences that embody a lot that Breath represents. Its ties to Motion also link it with Freedom. Life, on the other hand, is tied with Free Will through Agency- Being able to do things, to exert a force against the environment you reside in, to oppose something. Your Impact in making shit take place. Bonus Round, Mind ties in to Choices, the Decisions you take in your life and what you try to do. So, basically, regarding Free Will, Breath is the Ability to Do Things, Life is the Force you Do Things With, and Mind is What you Do.

Would it be fair to say that life is somebody's potential, while doom is more about what will definitely happen (death for example). or life=potential energy, while doom=entropy

What’s going to happen is more Light. Life as Potential and Doom as Entropy is a great way to put it in my opinion, though!

Hey uh dreamless anon taping your mouth shut “to dream” is a /really really dangerous thing to do/. You could suffocate yourself in your sleep, you could choke, many, /many/ bad things can happen. That isn’t worth it for a dream. I promise. To dream you have to get to REM sleep, aka deep sleep. Try to go there, please don’t tape your mouth shut.

Yeah, guides on Dreaming and Lucid Dreaming are about the more psychological things- Mediation, thinking hard about stuff, keeping a Dream Diary when you start Dreaming… Postion can influence your dreams, but one thing is shifting your position, and another one taping your mouth shut like, jeeeez.

《Dreamless anon》Ok sorry. I didn't see the message but I decided against it anyway

Good.

hey whats a thief of light do? i know thats the same as vriska but does that mean i HAVE to be like her? no matter how much i love her she isnt really someone to look up to,,,,, and what strife weapon does a thief of light use!! :0

Weapons and God Tier aren’t necessarily tied. Also, you’ve seen (Vriska), she’s a Thief of Light as well. There are a million ways to be a Thief of Light. Now, POWER-WISE, Vriska does give a nice set of guidelines. Stealing Luck for yourself, gathering information, stealing the Spotlight… Things she doesn’t do but could be for the Thief of Light, though, would be to blind people and obscure an area by taking all of the Light.

So can hope powers "believe" things into existence ? we've seen Jake do this with brain dirk, along with creating that pumpkin thing. if so than can all hope players use hope to believe in something so much that it comes true ? can hope players believe in an object or idea to the point that they become tangible ?

Only certain Classes or under certain circumstances. Think about it, even with the immense amount of Hope Jake was producing, he was only able to make Dirk be real for a couple of minutes, and it also took him a long time through his power-up to actually make Dirk non-fake. Pumpkins are way easier to create, and he was being amplified by Trickster Mode. So the answer is ‘not all Hope Players’ and ‘It’s still a god damn hard thing to pull off’

it's possible for characters to act like another class due to fascination with it or being forced to do so (ex. rose with the witch class and jane with the heir class), right? would it be possible for a player to act like several other classes, maybe because of an identity crisis or hating their "real" class or something, to the point that it causes a problem to their sense of self and capability to act? what class would be most likely to face this kind of crisis?

Yeah this is the basis of the Roleplay System. Chances are they wouldn’t be acting as more than one Class at ONCE but flipping from one to another could be feasible if they really are opposed to their Class or being forced to act in different ways. I would say a Knight may be like this- Trying to serve their friends in every situation, it ends up making them act differently for every given situation. Maybe a Knight of Heart or Mind.

To dreamless anon: i dont think that matters anyway, i breathe through my mouth a lot while i am asleep but i still dream a lot, especially since i figured out my REM cycles. For me its like 6 and a half hours and i wake up remembering what ive dreamt. Good luck and sweet dreams haha 😊

Curiously enough when it comes to Dreams, it seems the more you believe you’re going to have a Dream, the more real the chance of Dreaming becomes. So I guess. Hope on?

wait i thought all humans dream but just some people may or may not remember the fact that they were dreaming hence why they say they don't dream

I have no idea what the specifics of that is tbh. If a tree falls into a forest and there is no one to see it, did the tree fall at all? If a Timeline is Doomed but there’s no players left to observe it, did it become doomed in the first place? If your memory of your Dream is nothing, did you Dream at all?

but what about brainwaves???

As I said, I have absolutely no idea about the process, I’m just joking with the Tree In The Forest analogy.

What does your tag "HSE" stand for?

HomestuckExamination. I use it to answer personal questions about myself, or when I don’t want to clog other tags with only vaguely related topics.

Would a Prince of Mind destroy his own mind or destroy other's mind?

Both could happen, honestly. Depends on the situation.

If you're falling in a forest, and there's nobody around, do you ever even crash or even make a sound?

If you’re there to observe it yourself, yes.

Chahut not being the tallest of them all? Gasp, what Heresy is this? :V

Hey, HSE, thanks for balancing out the Hope aspect. It wouldn't make sense that in a game about balance there would be an aspect that would do anything.

I MEAN, Classpect power depends entirely not on what the Classpect is, but who is using it and how. But would you. Seriously say SBURB is balanced in any way? Because honestly, as incredibly customized and unique as each SBURB Session is, the game itself is a collection of Bad Game Design Choices, you pretty much need a Time Player to fix the fuck-ups that would otherwise happen naturally in a Session.

I want to tell the dear evan hansen anon that i got it, like i got the reference

Oh. Whoops.

Every aspect is OP pass it on. Light? It is literally existence and fortune. And meaning. Void? Unexistence. And World of Darkness. And eldrich. Rage? Anarchy, realism, Deus ex machina and plot bullshit. Hope? Paradigm and when plot is being awesome. Mind? Karma and all the choices. And so on.

Yep. I mean they’re literally GOD TIERS, Classes and Aspects are inherently reality-bending.

Which gt would have the most BS abilities?

Lord of Rage. “Everything happens according to my plans because Fuck You that’s why.”

Note though, ‘most bullshit’ doesn’t necessarily mean ‘strongest’, even a Lord of Rage would have their weaknesses. But their powers would definitely be like. “Fuck you” levels of nonsense.

Would a sylph of time be more helpful than a seer of time?

No. There’s no Class or Aspect that’d be objectively more ‘helpful’ than other, it all depends on WHAT they’re needed for. Different Classpects serve for Different Things at Different Times.

So, my OC is a thief of void. Would they possibly take away the feeling of miserableness from their friends and keep it? I kinda picture them being lonely and depressed in the end of the game(if they don’t learn how to create something useful out of sadness). What do you think?

I’m not 100% sure Void would be the best match for those feelings, but it could work, yeah.

while lord of hope would be extremely powerful, they are a kind of enemy that you can defeat with logic bombs. Convince them that they don't exist or something else that you happen to need. And there, you are a victor.

Oooh, that’s an interesting workaround to a Lord of Hope’s powers!

Bard of Space as person who keeps accidentally invading everyone's personal space.

Oh my god, and with that Codpiece no less, that’s awful.

Bard of Space comes into the room codpiece first. Instead of poking their head out it's just the codpiece poking out.

Please no. This is the last thing a Session needs.

Bard of Doom in a pissed off mood after they've reached their breaking point. every step they take the ground rots away and cracks spread through the earthh, they walk into a room of people and come out ten seconds later and everyone is dead just from the bards presence

Edgy Bard. At least he’s not poking people with their codpiece like the Bard of Space. Lots of Bard Talk today huh.

do you think a breath player (knight specifically) could use their wind powers mixed with some fire based weapon like a flamethrower or simple lighter, and "fan the flames" so to speak, making like those big fire tornadoes. I mean I know John's windy thing put out fires, but I also think with careful application it could make fires bigger! using oxygen as fuel and whatnot.

Fire and Lava Tornadoes are both things the Wind pulls off in Homestuck, with the Lava Ones being John’s doing, so this is definitely plausible. Also his “They wait” description mentions about him fanning flames whilst blowing candles, soo.

Bard of Space just corrupts your creativity causing you to have images of his codpiece randomly appearing in your mind.

I hate that this works out so well oh my god.

This is a completely valid reading of what the Bard of Space could do.

And I hate it.

Thanks.

i got it! a Bard of Hope corrupts your Hope so all you believe in is the codpiece, it is the only truth

Rather, the sight of the Bard’s Codpiece destroys your Hope. You know there’s No God when such a thing is allowed to exist in this world.

I was once part of an unfinished fan session rp and the only plotline I remember had to do with everyone hating the prince of mind (because he got the life player perma-dead), causing him to erase all his own memories, only to be taken advantage of by the bard of time, who convinced him that they were dating. Not to mention the everything was about to go to hell considering the bard had just figured out how to time travel.

Jeez, talk about dark.

Please no more Codpiece Talk.

whic god tier might be able to use certain powers in BNHA? like which god tier could use todoroki's powers, or midoriya/all might, or bakugo, etc

A lot of their powers are Elemental-based, which is hard to pin-point in terms of God Tier, since most God Tiers aren’t actually element-based- Such as fire and ice. However I actually argued about the individual God Tiers of a bunch of BNHA characters before, mostly based about how they use their powers.

Quirks are basically like Vriska having Mind Control Powers or Aradia Communing with the Dead. Not tied to their God Tier powers necessarily, but used in ways tying to their roles.
