March 2018

What mundane uses for all the kids powers can you think of? For rose I think she would be able to always win the lottery since she would know what numbers win, but that's about all I can think of

I don’t think she’d have much use for the lottery though, they’re already Gods, and have Alchemiters. She’ll totally use her powers to beat your ass at just about any game though. Dave likely doesn’t use his powers anymore, but if he ever forgets something or is late somewhere, he could just pull his Timetables out. John could fan himself on warm days or dry himself off after shower. Jade gets a power downgrade, but still, changing sizes and momentum sounds like a super convenient power for everything, and who knows if there are still Bec things she can still don.

Jane can heal any wounds as long as is not resurrection, and she can resurrect a bunch of other people still. Combine it with the fact they’re all God Tiers that have won, when the Heroic/Just thing may become way harder, and I bet they’re all super reckless now. I don’t think ripping someone’s soul has much of a practical use, but if he can dim someone’s feelings he could make it hurt less when there’s a break-up or something, perhaps he’s just excellent consoling others and himself. Jake, if he hones his skills, could have the boundless energy of hopeful optimism and belief bend to his will- But it’s a bit overshadowed by the fact Roxy can already easily create things, which is FURTHER overshadowed by the Alchemiters. At least Jake may be able to pull out some Deus Ex Machina nothing else could, and Roxy can still go invisible/intangible to play pranks on people and spy on them.

(I’m the guy who’s going to be sending the pics of my au, this isn’t of it though )

Procee Cueted. Masterful pun.

So I'm making my own analysis for my interpretation of Homestuck and the basis for that is how to defeat/stall/accept the inevitable (time/LE). Everyone who survives the game at the end is a lesson we must heed in order to do that. I'll probably make a master post about it eventually but what are your thoughts?

I personally feel there’s a lot of teachings rooted in how everyone deals with the Inevitable. From learning a way to escape what otherwise feels inevitable (Session), to aid the inevitable just to try and come up on top in the end (Vriska), learning when to give up, acceptance (Ghosts), breaking beyond irrelevance to fight an unfair, unstoppable force (Army), etc etc. There’s. A lot to unpack if you’re following that topic, really.

i think you kinda overstate Roxys powers a little. The only thing we see her create on her own are generic cubes, only being able to make anything else by having a space player help her

Cubes, Pumpkins AND Wizards- That is, basic things, voidy things, and her interests. This is after less than a day training to do stuff, and when she faces Condy she’s already learned to use the PGO as building blocks to make more complex things like Fists and a Pony- Which also spawns with an actual ribbon! Post-canon she could really become sort of like an alchemiter herself. Specially since she’s dating Callie, always got that Creative Muse around to inspire her finger-twiddling.

Do you think trolls have noses?

Most likely. But, shrug.

What’s your favorite act/ act act/ act act act/ intermission?

I believe I answered this before? And yet I cannot decide one of them right now. They all have things going for them.

Hmm, so going off the worlds-based-off-fears/struggles for some characters theory, what kind of land do you think a character with an intense aversion to social interaction and big changes in general get? I’ve been pretty stumped and wanted to know what y’all think :0 (and I have no idea if classpects matter, so just in case my oc is a Page of Mind :y)

Oof, hard to tell just based off of that. Then again, remember Lands can be more Symbolic and don’t have to even list physical things, so literally a Land of Change and X could be a viable name, or something related like, Land of Shift and Y.

Any land headcanons? I would like to know more of how lands work

Nothing more than is commonly know I think? Lands and quests try to make you a better person, but you can pretty much flip off the quest and do stuff your way, and they can also be Session-thematic so you can pretty much have any sort of Land.

The lands for the Alpha humans seem to be less tied to their Aspect, as they are Lands of (element) and (structure related to death). Just because the main things aren't related to their Aspect, Jane's quest still is to bring life back to the planet.

That is true, her Quest was still about reaching her potential as a Maid of Life, and yet also the Alphas’ main purpose revolved around having to wait for the Session merger.

Remember when snapd8s were a thing?

Yesss, I would like for them to be back but I mean, the WP Team is making Hiveswap, I can literally not complain.

What's the difference in Serving Self vs Serving Agency? (Knight of Heart and Life)

If you’re serving /yourself/, not much, but if you’re serving others, they’re completely different things. Serving someone else’s self just means you’re aiding them. Serving someone Agency is specifically allowing them to do what they want to do. Paving the road in a way. Even when it’s serving yourself, I feel there’s different ways that could work.

I think people often underestimate what the classpects do as we don't see a lot of what each one can do. But as a reminder to you people who may have forgotten, they are called GOD Tiers for a reason. Saying Roxy can only make cubes, pumpkins, and wizards is a huge insult to the classpects power. It takes a bit of training to fully master your class. Remember when John literally drilled into a planet using only wind? The god tiers are literal powerhouses but everyone underestimates them.

A thing to have in mind, too- God Tiers aren’t Godly Powers you get after ascending. You always have God Tier Powers. Ascension merely unlocks potential that is already there, but John could summon the Breeze to extinguish his entire Land pre-ascension, and Terezi’s Mind Powers are likely comparable to those of a fully realized Seer of Mind. You’re always a God when you’re a Player. Arguably, given enough time, Players could unlock their God Tier without having to Ascend, although that would mean they don’t get their sweet pajamas the normal way, nor do they get the Heroic/Just safety net.

This is more of a head cannon than a theory, but I want to contribute to the god tier discussion. My theory that karkat could use his blood powers like you said, using his blood as a weapon, but also he could control other people's blood. Make them move around like a puppet. Also since blood has to do with bonds, make others want to fight for him.

I also think that although karkat and anyone who didn’t go god tier wouldn’t get the just/heroic thing and clothing/flying abilities, they would get immortality. I just think once you claim the prize you’re immortal or something

I am still not sure about you opening the door granting immortality, really. While weaponizing blood could maybe work like that, though, I heeeeeavily doubt Karkat would’ve used his powers to use others as puppets, merely because I don’t see him like the kind of person to do that if it makes sense? He did make a bond with Jack and add him to the team to fight alongside him though.

I notice a lot of people ship cronus and kankri is there a reason for that in the story or did people just decide that

I have absolutely no idea and it kind of baffles me honestly. I guess Kankri does kind of encourage Cronus’ shittiness.

Quite honestly I never understood why Jasprose uses fenstrated plains to travel around

It’s convenient, and Jaspers-thematic! Jaspers is sorta Voidy, and lived with Roxy for a long time, so it checks out.

which god tier do you think would have the ability to read minds? i was thinking a Seer of Mind, but we've already seen how that power works out.

A Seer of Mind would work. There’s multiple interpretations for the same Classpect.

Why is jade paired up with either dave or karkat? I know from act one jade wanted to hang out with dave because she thought he was cool.

They have cute dynamics, and both Knights fell in love with her at one point or another. Jade also shows feelings back for Dave, and starts getting along MUCH better with Karkat towards the End of Act 5.

How would a two player complete-able session name their lands. Something like the land of (opposite personality trait) and (aspect)?

I don’t see why it’d be different from normal naming conventions.

This is a weird HC thing, but I remember from Invader zim that zim wanted gir to stay upstairs and gave him the task of protecting the house from leprechauns. Now this where you need to scretch a bit of imagination, the felt are also called leprechauns and they reside with doc scratch on the green moon near Alternia. Invader Zim and hivebent connection?

I have absolutely no idea because I’ve never ever seen Invader Zim, so I don’t know if there’s any other references.

What sign class would you say Joey is? I know he general consensus for Aspect is Light and I think Lunar sway is Prospit, but rarely do I see Sign Class talked about. I could see lime, olive, or even jade. And Jude too I guess.

I have no idea about the Sign color, I’d go Jade by her shirt symbol but, personality-wise, for Humans, I feel it’s mostly like the normal Zodiac? No idea if Prospit or Derse, but I do believe she’s a Maid of Light. She could be Life as well, but, Scratch’s interest on her tips be to Light.

By how many years is Alternia technologically advanced from Earth? I mean Darkleer's helmet looked pretty futuristic

If I lived in the future I could probably tell you buuut, no idea. My jam’s Fantasy rather than Sci-Fi, even though I love both.

Question. We know Sollux had two dream selves. So, would all goldbloods have two dream selves if they were to play SGRUB (like how they all seem to have two sets of horns and how most of them appear to be psionics) or is Sollux just really special?

They are Gemini Trolls, so they have some duality things, however, Duality was Sollux’s theme. ii and 2s, vision Twofold (Ha ha), two Introductions, two everything. So it was just thematic, and also filling in the fact Aradia had no tower.

I’m personally fond of the interpretation that Joey would be a Derse dreamer and Jude a Prospit dreamer. Thoughts?

If Jude’s a Prospit Dreamer, he’d be 100% me. Which checks out. So yeah.

Is it possible to have something like a D&D themed session?

Don’t see why not, the Alphas had a “Nobles and Death” themed Session.

Since its a fully customizable game, do the rules ever change from build a tall house, go through portals?

Nope, building, portals, gathering grist, going for the Denizens, the Battlefield battle, seem to all be Standard, but I mean. Lands, the Quest, the Alchemiter, the God Tiers, the people playing the Session and the million of things that can go differently and wrong, having a base doesn’t take from the customization.

Might the lord english situation be a kind of normal event to happen to the game? Because if the trolls got to our universe would humans have gotten to exist and create their own universe, or would it have been more trolls? I guess overall what I mean is; might the big bad messing with other sessions act as a part two to the game, and help propagate genetic diversity in universes? sorry for the wall of text.

Not really, English is a rogue agent separate from the game, and I guess Trolls would’ve played the game again only IF there were no other species, and they conquered everything? The Universe is big, the Planet that spawns the Game could be ANY among the millions and millions of Planets there.

How did the condesce travel from the alternian universe to alpha earth and the alpha session?

We still don’t quite know actually! English has tricks up his sleeve, Alternia has Exile Stations that maybe could’ve had something to do with it, but in general, it’s still a mystery! Actually, it’s possible Hiveswap/Hauntswitch gives us an answer.

do you think it would be possible for carapacians to play sburb?

I mean, technically no reason why they couldn’t, but, going back into a Session after being exiled, it’s a little bit too much. Having to bear the potential destruction of Prospit/Derse all over again is a messy concept.

What would have happened if Jack Noir wore the Dersite prototyped ring and the Propitian prototyped ring at the same time?

I’m not sure if you can actually get doubly ringed.

Did Lord English create his peg leg out of nothing in [S] Begin intermission 2?

The Cairo Overcoat was around, so he could also have the Peg Leg around.

Carapacians wouldn’t necessarily have to be exiles to play, because if they are paradox clones they don’t have any limits on what species they could be.

I mean if they’re a species chosen to play the game, yeah, but it seems like the players of the Game that are made ectobiologically always coincide, genetically, with the rest of the planet’s species, so they’d have to at least live in some sort of Exile Town made after a successful session on a planet.

What do you reckon could happen if Sollux were to ascend whilst Erisol was very much still a thing? Would we get some bizarre spin on Jade fusing with Bec through Jadesprite?

That’s a good question! And… No idea? Precedent tells us that yeah, that’s exactly what’d happen, but that’d be a bit bizarre.

If Dave turned into Trickster mode, would he be unaffected like Trickster!Dirk?

Nah.

On carapacian players: on earth C they’ve been there since the beginning, despite coming from a session. Oh golly imagine a white carapacian being a derse dreamer. I like to imagine that the future session of earth c had humans, trolls, and maybe carapacians. Consorts??

I don’t quite think there’s going to be a Session on Earth C! The Frog Temple is the Frog Temple from the Old Session, unless like, starting a Session is the reason it was abandoned for the Cherubs. Also isn’t a Derse White Carapacian kind of a paradox?

I never got to the trickster stuff. What was it all about

I was always confused about why people seem to not ‘get’ the Trickster Arc, when there’s like, a lot of other things that seem asinine in Homestuck, but everyone hones in on that. Maybe because it’s more character driven? Plot-wise, it just gets the Alphas to the Quest Beds and makes them do a bunch of cool weapons, but like…

There’s the whole Caucasian commentary and how it paints the Tricksters, being caucasian, as incredibly creepy, pushy, and living a power trip while everyone around them gets hurt and becomes incredibly uncomfortable. Dirk doesn’t, and is used as a commentary on erasing his identity- Specially his Queerness, as Roxy forces him to kiss her, and how even if aesthetically presenting in the same way, he’s only more miserable because of them. There’s the Meta-commentary of how they all ‘have their issues fixed’ and ‘are completely happy and doing shit and doing things together’, which is a jab at people thinking there was too much Drama with the Alphas and that they should just ‘get over it’, showcasing how unnatural and unsettling that is. It also kickstarts their character development after the Trickster Trip, having them remember it being so AWFUL and EMBARRASSING that they just like. Start to vent to each other.

There’s. Layers to the Trickster Arc, and there’s also something to be said of the duality of Caliborn and Calliope loving Tricksters- Caliborn just wants them to get shit done, and just kind of likes the aesthetic. In Calliope’s case, as she pulls the Juju in Rose’s Wedding, she loves the whole problem-resolving aspect of it- Making everyone go Trickster during an incredibly happy and cheerful celebration, when everyone’s in good terms, striking a difference from using it at their lowest point. You can ALSO read it as a commentary on drugs- Their use to escape from reality during the Session, and their recreative use in a more controlled setting during the Credits.

I think there’s still more? But that’s all I can think right now.

so what you're saying is the trickster mode is racist against white people, painting them all as creepy weirdos who have no problem in the world and get everything they want without any kind of struggle?

No, I’m saying Trickster Mode paints the dangers of dismissing the struggles others are going through when you’re in a more privileged situation, and the fact they’re depicted as (horrifyingly) Caucasian is perfectly fitting for an allegory like that.

Imagine Tickster condy

Why do you want everyone ever to die. (But also yes please)

If tricksters are supposedly Life based, does that mean there are other Aspecty transformations?

You could say Trickster Mode is the Life equivalent to Grimdark’s Void, but also they may just be thematic without necessarily relating to the specific Aspect? It’s hard to tell.

Tbh i dont know why I don’t see more baseballbatkind. It’s such a rad weapon when you think about it, plus it’s about around the skill level most of us would be at if we actually had to play sburb. All I’m saying is,, lighting baseball bat

Baseballkind is a sacred, Legendary Specibus alongside Yo-Yokind, only specially powerful psychic Kids can use them.

I hope we get to see unique strife specibi in Hiveswap Act 2, like maybe Skylla would have something related to ranching like brandkind or Diemen would have oblongmeatkind. Marsti could have mop kind.

Please, Oblongmeatkind.

It just occurred to me that the canon fantrolls are actually Universe C trolls, since the cherub in Aranea's story destroyed their planet and eventually laid the cherub egg on old uninhabited Earth. also maybe if not on earth c, a session could start on another planet? If the frog is healthy, it would eventually reproduce right? I imagine even without external forces, a universe can still die. so it'd have to produce offspring.

Yep, the Canon Fantrolls are in Universe C. And it’s likely the Frog can produce another Session somewhere at some point, yeah! Whether it can die or not, though, that’s relative- It IS a living being, but it’s also a Universe, so rather than lifespan, I’d say the most immediate threat to the Universe C is The Breach, unless John can zap the entire Universe into the Blank.

Fav strife specibus, Mankind

Beat a motherfucker.

WITH ANOTHER MOTHERFUCKER.

u know i think about how some people who won their session may want to stop all sburb sessions from happening but wouldn't that be impossible? it'd be interesting to see if the player tries or how the fact would way on the player, what classpect do u think would be most likely to try? i'd say heir of doom, maybe a space or time player. it'd be cool to hear story about someone trying to stop sburb but that'd be a pretty tragic one, wouldn't it?

Honestly it’s just kind of impossible? SBURB is not an entity or even like, something that happens from a source. It’s like a biological process of the Universe.

I mean they could.

Try to neuter the frog.

Can you neuter a frog.

If sburb comes to your universe can you play it again? CAN YOU DOUBLE YOUR GODTIER??? MULTIPLE SPRITES??? MULTIPLE FROGS?

I don’t think you could God Tier if you’ve already God Tiered. I mean though would you play SBURB again though. Would you really.

Do you think astrology is more of a space thing or a blood thing?

I think it’s more of a Hope thing.

Do you suppose anyone could get sweet animal parts when they god tier, or is it just a Space player thing?

As long as your Self-prototype with something.

Could a successful session's Space player shrink the Genesis Frog and take it with them when they claimed the Ultimate Reward? I realize this would end up with the frog inside itself, but maybe if that doesn't instantly destroy everything it might serve as a good protection for the frog from external attacks like the Red Miles that killed the B frog.

Recursive Frog, isn’t there a Futurama Episode where they have their Universe in a Box. I have no idea how that’d physically work.

You should be able to neuter anything with reproductive organs so I don’t see why not, but I asked a friend and they said “it would be easier to not introduce eggs because frogs fertilize after that fact, unless they’re freelance frogs” so I think you could neuter the genesis frog but how would you even neuter a universe?

This raises more questions like, how physical is the Genesis Frog? The Red Miles pierced into it and they just kind of. Passed through into the Universe. Does it have actual organs? Or is its body merely a gateway into the Universe, in the shape of a frog?

strife spec: mimickind; if your weapon kinda resembles another weapon you can use it, note: you cant use weapons that are not mimicking other weapons, Exsample: a broom mimicks a spear

Watch me wield a Dark Souls Mimic Chest, quick Grist Farming, just get that big guy to chomp the Underlings down.

Could you make multiple genisis frogs?

One Frog per Battlefield it seems. Unless you get Twin Frogs? If that can be a thing?
