I know this is likely a unpopular opinion but I don't like that everyone is only concerned about the trolls sexuality and gender. I don't care about that stuff, I only want them to be fun and well written characters. then again, this is how most of tumblr sees any characters from any franchise ...
I do agree that there’s people with an absolutely obsessive fixation that ends up being toxic when their headcanons don’t match the canon, HOWEVER it also stems from a lack of representation in any sort of media, and WP being a small and rather progressive indie studio have so far been a holy grail with Hiveswap, so most people talking about character gender and sexuality are doing it out of good will and identifying with them, I’d say.
That being said, it’s still saddening to see there’s a vocal bunch of people that will honestly shit on others and on characters like that just because they were wrong about their gender/sexuality, SPECIALLY when we ALSO still have other characters who fit the exact mold they were trying to push on this new character, and EXTRA SPECIALLY when said new character is confirmed to be a Trans Man.
Anyway segueing into this, if you hate Lanque because he’s a Trans Man you can fuck right off this blog and the Hiveswap tags.

I feel like Lanque being trans will be the only thing people focus on, and so he'll be reduced to a one dimensional character. That's why I dislike him. Not because he's trans, but because of the fandom.

Any thoughts on Lanque being the only Jadeblood we know of with symmetrical horns? It might just be rare for Jadebloods and otherwise totally normal but that’s probably one of the first things I noticed
Huh. True, I didn’t even notice. I think most horn conventions are out of the window though, we do know Jades tend to have hooks, Golds tend to have four horns, and Ceruleans also have hooks sometimes, but like. There’s also a Gold with 3 Horns so likely it’s all tendencies without a specific necessity.
Given Lanque's whole Alquemist deal, crave for eternal life, and being life bound. Maybe his class could be a Maid or Sylph of Life? Or even Thief but I doubt it given Condy is around.
Classpects aren’t necessarily restricted, it’d be interesting seeing someone with the same Classpect as Condy. Maid or Sylph are potentials, but I’ll hold off my judgement until we actually know ANYTHING about these characters.

Let's talk about Lanque for a second. I've been hearing a lot of people say that he's transgender, but I'm also seeing some people say he isn't?? Do we have a definitive answer on this? As a male Virgo I would like to know if its canonically possibly for a JadeBlood to be male.
Okay, let me preface this by saying that, Trans men are men, but I assume you meant if DMAB Jadebloods could still exist, and chances are yeah! Homestuck is all about breaking the mold and being your own person, much like how Classes aren’t gendered even if there’s a perceived genderization of them, Castes should be the same way.
That being said, Lanque IS Trans, as stated by both Poinko and Cohen. People saying he isn’t still haven’t read about it, or are transphobes. Hopefully the former.

If they were, or if Lanque was really dysphoric (I know a few of you have shown discomfort at being Classed in certain ways because of that!), he’d have a neutral or male-coded Class, because he’s a guy.
What was the cause of homestuck's popularity? I know it started getting really big around the intro of the trolls. Was it the story? Or the innovative qualities, like the flash pages? Or did more people pile on when they saw how big the fandom was? I'm curious if this is documented anywhere.
As far as I know, it was a mixture of things, the Characters and Convoluted Story kept people coming, but one of the major things that drew people in was the update schedule and the style. The animation was frantic, things were just happening all the way, and things shifted from comedy to gorey horror with existential questions and extreme customization to make your OCs along the way, but the thing is, Hussie’s update schedule was absolutely crazy. Some days you’d get more than one update, others you’d have a pause of a day or two, others you could wake up in the middle of the night with a new animation that kickstarts an entirely new arc or concludes something, it was just hard to tell at that point in the story what was going to happen and everything was leading up to Cascade, little by little…
The issue is that, with the Alphas being introduced, and the update schedule faltering because of other projects and personal issues, people lost steam. Some things began to become too Meta for some people’s likes, other things became big glaring mysteries that would’ve been resolved if they just waited for the next update, except the next update happened months afterwards and at that point they’d forgotten the question. By the time everyone was reunited and leading up to Caliborn’s Yaoi Art Showcase, the Gigapause made people whose interest had dwindled towards other things, simply drop entirely, and many people who got back afterwards had forgotten critical bits of the story that made sense of sections afterwards. Combine this with Game Over dropping shortly after the resume of the Gigapause, and the whole Retcon Quest making people think a lot of the comic had suddenly become irrelevant (Spoilers: It really hadn’t, people are just overdramatic), the Fandom at large began turning against the direction Homestuck was taking, merely because… They had like, over a year to think about how they would have wanted the comic to end, and it didn’t end that way.
Come to think of it? Fandom’s biggest issue is simply setting themselves up for something because of a misconception and getting over-excited about said misconception, before it blows up on their face, and rather than admit they were wrong and taking the new content as it comments, belligerently tearing what’s new down in favor of their own ideas.

I was just browsing through Gamzee's biography again, when I started thinking about the Recon, which was pretty convoluted with before and after differences. Pre-Recon, Gamzee delivered Lil Cal to CD to give to Jack English, but Post-Recon who did? Vriska? Then, Pre-Recon and Post-Recon Cherubs. We know Gamzee had to raise them, otherwise they wouldn't have the technology needed to communicate with the Alpha kids and play Sburb, so how did
Jack English (2/2) that work? I read that it was the black hole caused by Jack English that sent Gamzee, the Crowbar, and Yaldabaoth to future Earth Post-Recon. But what about Pre-Recon, as Gamzee died. Say, though, that’s is the timeline where GT Calliope predominated. That said, how would she play Sburb? And how would Earth be there in the first place, since the kids couldn’t finish the game after !GO. So maybe Caliborn predomination and Calliope predomination are both from Post-Recon, so
Jack English (3/2) maybe Gamzee raised them both, but because Calliope’s predomination timeline was destined to be doomed, she and Caliborn simply couldn’t talk to the Alpha kids, like a self fulfilling prophecy. That way, she could still play the game as Gamzee was sent by Jack English to raise them, but paradoxically they (similar to Dave and Rose after John went and died) couldn’t communicate with the kids for whatever reason. (Okay now it’s over)
You know, that’s a good question, Gamzee certainly didn’t deliver Lil Cal so, who did? Maybe it was Condy, she is still English’ Handmaid after all. Or even more terrifyingly… *Shudders* Trickster Vriska.
God could you imagine. It’s up to anyone’s guess though, that’s one change I had NOT considered actually!
As for Gamzee’s Timeline though, the thing is, for the Game Over Timeline, it’s a Doomed Timeline at that point, chances are it never bore a fruit. God Tier Calliope’s Timeline is even MORE messed up, given she never talked to the Alphas, it’s implied that they straight up… Never contacted each other and didn’t play the game, meaning either when the Betas reached that Session, it was simply them and Condy, alone, or that Calliope’s Session is doomed BECAUSE she was alone- The Timeline could not exist as it would be a paradox, thus making it Doomed, kind of like the Dead Dave that DD killed when he tried to go back in time to recover the book. Dave saw the corpse and thus never went back in time so that body should’ve never even existed. So similarly, Calliope’s predomination would break causality, forcing her to a dead end.
That being said, in a Non-Retcon, Non-Game Over Timeline, just, no Vriska, no Aranea, it’s easy to imagine he’d have just used Aradia’s Music Boxes.
All in all, these Timelines have some paradoxes you have to look more into, and I REALLY want Hussie’s books with commentary to reach Act 6 PRECISELY because of this.
So, how does Condy get to Earth A and B? Was it similar to how Jack went from Earth to the troll's session using one of the meteor base things?
It could be a Station, but even then it still leaves you wondering how she got from Earth A to Earth B. It’s something we don’t know, and while it could be LE Shenanigans, there’s also the possibility the Cherub Portal from Hiveswap is involved in this.
Are Jack Noirs opposed to the creation of the Genesis Frog like other Dersites or do they tend to not care?
All Dersites are conditioned to hate frogs, given how Jack just sort of. Stomps the frogs in Jade’s house, it’d seem even beyond giant Universe Frogs, the dude just hates amphibians.

If there is a bed to poof back on to, yeah they return to the Moon. John’s Dream Self seemed to disappear when Prospit was destroyed and he was in the Battlefield, but it’s also possible his Dream Self got teleported to the Quest Bed tower of the Battlefield then rather than during his ascension.
Of course, if the Dream Self is the only version left alive, they act just like normal bodies.
I want to make a first guardian for my fan session, is there any specific guidelines I should know about? Like, are the troll guardians more humanoid while the earth guardians are animals?
I don’t think there’s any rules about First Guardians, it’s literally performing Ectobiology on something and mixing it with the First Guardian Genetic Code.
So if trolls get butterfly like wings when ascending to God Tier, why don't Cherubs get the wings that adult Cherubs have? Maybe not Caliborn, as he was stunted through early predomination, but Calliope could.
Well, I mean, Adult Trolls don’t get wings, so that would be a false equivalency. They look cool and that’s. Kind of about it. They’re also completely useless since God Tier already allows you to fly with no need for wings. So it’s a purely aesthetic choice.
That being said, they get it because it references Metamorphosis. Their Quest Bed is a Quest Cocoon, that breaks open upon Ascension. It’s like a larva becoming a butterfly, and as such, they get butterfly wings.

They’re like the fireflies, yes, SBURB spawns NPCs others than Underlings and Consorts. Except Angels are more like Hope Elementals, and Fireflies or Hummingbirds are just like. Animals that are there.

As seen kind of hovering towards Feferi and Sollux when Sollux was dead on the Alchemiter, Sollux’s Land is just. Full of literal, floating, living brains.
There are statues of Crocodiles and Iguanas in the Troll Session, and a bunch of living Consorts in the Troll Meteor chests in Alterniabound, so it seems like they’re just more of the same. Consorts seem to all be Herptiles.
