It’s not best described to a Soulmate, it’s best described as a Soulmate, in a Platonic sense! Moirails (and Auspistices) are roles meant to stabilize Trolls, their world sucks and emotions suck when you’re a Teen so with everything sucking so badly, they’re quick to flip the lid back and forth with how they feel for others. Moirails are complementary stabilizers and pacifiers, ensuring that neither party is going too far or not going far enough, so in a way they support each other like crutches so that they can be Functional elsewhere. Matespritship is often tied to actual, normal Romance, so the feelings that preside over Matespritship ARE the ones that also preside over normal Relationship. BUT, they ARE very Reproduction-based, even if not necessarily driven by Lust, Matespritship and Kismesissitude are in fact meant for Troll Reproduction.
Matesprits are all about love, enjoying each other, being happy together, and at least until Alternia Died and there stopped being Drones to cull people, about wanting to do it with someone else, while Moiraillegance doesn’t necessarily tackle ‘love’ in the same way Matespritship does, but still creates a close bond of co-dependency and venting. You certainly can do that with your Red partner as well, but given the climate of anxiety and badness Trolls live in, it feels as though needing a Quadrant specifically made for Venting and not Going Too Far makes sense. Even for Beforan Trolls, they are not involved in a climate of death and hostility, the social disparities and lifespan differences and the coddling and excessive babying of lower castes definitely creates a climate of unease.

Well, cheaper Homestuck and Hiveswap Merch is a thing! Friendsim is coming out, the Homestuck Books will be properly released, and we may get some news on the state of the Epilogue perhaps? Hiveswap development is currently paused with WP going through a transitional period, but I wouldn’t put it beyond them to give us a little teaser of what they have thus far maybe?
There are definitely Classpect switches, and some characters do seem to flip their alignment completely, but I also think the Roleplay Theory has more weight, specially considering it gives a reason to some of the switches, and accounts for more than complete Aspect + Class inversion, such as Dirk emulating Dave by acting like a Knight.
One of those tempo-measuring doodads maybe?

I can’t quite think of any Let’s Plays of it off the top of my head sadly! But I love that game so much.
There were already Act 1-2 Books and also ads on the website before, so like, there’s not that much of a difference other than the fact there’s a bigger company involved with Homestuck now. Stuff like that likely could fall into Parody territory, but even if it didn’t- Chances are if any of the Companies or Movies Homestuck references had Copyright stuff they didn’t want to see in the comic, they would’ve already acted against it, specially given Homestuck was way more popular at its peak than it is right now. If anything, Hussie being a single person would’ve had less luck dealing with copyright issues than VIZ as a larger corporation if they wanted to sue him. I don’t know how Copyright works 100%, but in my eyes, I’d say it may be even safer with VIZ. Unless VIZ preemptively wanted to do something ‘just in case’, it’s safer than it was before, and thus far they haven’t change a single thing about the comic, so they don’t quite seem concerned.
No idea how VIZ works with digital distribution, really.
I would absolutely pay for a complete, offline, HD version of Homestuck on my hard drive, with Author Commentary. Perhaps paired along with the Soundtrack? Oof.

The fight with Caliborn happens post-victory, obviously, however- We don’t even know if it’s the same Kids and the same Caliborn we see in Act 7, it could definitely be an Alt Timeline, and in fact the Masterpiece kind of implies it’s not our Caliborn, so it could also not be our John and our Kids. We also don’t know if using the Juju… Releases anything. It could, but it could just as well not do that. We gotta wait until the epilogue since then, until then it’s up to our interpretation.
I mean there’s not much to understand. They’re just Carapaces that left the Medium and went to the destroyed planet, and there’s SBURB devices that let them contact the Session.

I mean, not necessarily? Seeing a Maid of Doom as someone who’d only tend to the Doomed would be reductive. Maybe it could work, but it’s not a thing I feel would be benefitial to have as a main trait.

Thing is, Caliborn sees himself Surprised in the Masterpiece, even though he’s just literally seeing himself get ambushed, and the fact he has the Ring of Void is extremely strange as well. There are a few things that could imply another Timeline. Or maybe not. It’s just a little thing to think about.
I should point out that while he does have Calliope’s Horns, he’s quite evocative of Calmasis as well, Alpha Rose’s parallel to the Calliope-Caliborn Duality. If there’s something to take from the outfit, it’s not just Caliborn beating Calliope, but also disregarding their natural Predomination thing and just going in for the quick kill.
I mean it doesn’t really match up, because ‘Grimdarkness’, outside of the Horrorterror Corruption, that is, Eridan’s ‘aesthetic ‘’’’’Grimdarkness’’’’’ and Jade’s Grimbarkness, empowered their Aspect rather than making them go against it. The only instance of corruptive Grimdarkness that flips the alignment has been the Horrorterrors’ Void Flipping.
Someone mentioned that Hussie described Eridan’s snapping as ‘going Grimdark’ a while ago? He even gets darker in those few panels. However, I don’t know if Hussie canonically did describe this as Grimdarkness, and there’s just no corrupting influence- So I mark that as only ‘aesthetic Grimdarkness’, as in, the story flipped to a more Grimdark tone, rather than “Hey, Eridan is now corrupted”.
I’ve actually talked about the Maid of Space a bunch, but there’s been a lot of scattered thoughts rather than a singular post:

Skaia is the closest thing there is to an Omniscient Being in Homestuck. It’s a well of knowledge, the World of Light, the World of Ideas. It Knows All about the Players and what’s going to happen.
Davepeta and Jasprose present the concept of the Ultimate Self in Homestuck- The collective experience that shapes the ultimate embodiment of a ‘character’, based on everything they are and everything they could have been. Davepeta’s status post Act 7 is… Dubious. I hope they’re alive, and they’ll return in the Epilogue, but right now they’re Schrödinger’s Sprite Squared. Still though, the Ultimate Self is an important concept for Paradox Space, we are told, even while individual versions of the characters may not fully grasp their full impact and role in the whole of Paradox Space, the concept of ‘themselves’ lives on as something higher than a combination of all of them. You could take this as a Metaphysical representation of their ‘Self’ in Paradox Space, as well as a Meta representation of the Characters themselves. No Nepeta individually has any recollection of Davepeta, unless they like, saw/met Davepeta personally. But Davepeta is the embodiment of EVERY single instance of Nepeta and every single instance of Dave ever. The ultimate amalgamation of all they are. They’re not Davesprite and Dead Nepeta- They’re Dave and Nepeta. All Dave, all Nepeta. And that’s how Nepeta lives on as Davepeta- Not because they have part of Nepeta within them, but because they embody the concept of Nepeta and Dave and mix them perfectly together. All that Nepeta ever was and could’ve been. All that Dave ever was and could’ve been.
So, basically, they’re a huge furry.

She’s also Ultimate Jaspers. It’s everything that makes Rose Rose, but also with no filter and cat-like mannerisms. She’s not even too different from Rose internally, and that’s what messes with Rose so much, that she very likely thinks most of what Jasprose says, but would be mortified to say it out loud… Like That
The Squiddles are basically figments of the Horrorterrors on the subconscious of Humanity. Rose’s shirt is also actually a Squiddle Shirt she defaced to look mean and Lovecraftian.
He just said he was on the ‘path to nihilism’ in the conversation with Rose where he implied Magic wasn’t real and all of their powers were innate. Nothing about being controlled as far as I can tell.
She got to Earth C and likely died shortly afterwards because I don’t think Fireflies live that long.
I mean, Reality is made of every Aspect interwoven together, so while there may be Predominant Aspects in everyone, it’d not be difficult to argue everyone has a bit of everything.
