Good point, and I guess you could be able to see how you could mess up eiether way. (That's right, I remembered your classpect hehehehehehe)
I personally don’t like the idea of prototyping myself, it’s kind of weird to mix your consciousness with something else! It’s already uncanny enough that your consciousness hops between your Waking and Dreamself, and with the way I see things and how SOMA’s influenced me, God Tiering feels like a Toin Coss between Ascension and Complete Oblivion.
Do you think that Aradia has feelings for anybody as far as Matespritship goes? More importantly do you think she has feelings for Sollux or Feferi? And do you support AraFef?
I support AraFef although by the ending of Homestuck she’s always seemed to me like that girl who just doesn’t mind anyone more than the rest? Like, she’s either with no one, or with literally everyone, and there’s no in-between.
Well, first the Medicalizer constricts the afflicted limb to the point of cutting off the blood supply. This works to stop bleeding wounds, specially if it’s not just a cut, and it’s more like, having half of your arm blown off for example. Then it would seem like it’s capable of closing bleeding wounds and accelerating the healing process- Making deep cuts into faded lines. However it’s not just the healing process it speeds up- We see it heal bones, broken bones, in a matter of seconds. It doesn’t leave any sort of scarring when the wounds are internal though. Given how we see most Troll technology to be Biotechnology? My bet is on viral nanomachines invading the limb and fixing it up.
I'm trying to explain sprites to a friend and not doing too well. Could you give an in-depth explanation of sprites please?
Customizable Game Guides. Basically, “What if instead of Navi, you were given the chance to mix your deceased grandpa and your favorite anime waifu into a single being to help you in your journey?”
are cherubs just living skeletons or do they have fine scale like skin?
Have you seen how RIPPED LE is? They most definitely have skin, flesh and muscle, Adult Cherubs are like, completely naked and are evidently more green humanoids with flesh than actually being all bones. Their heads’ depictions have varied though, from completely skull-like as we see with Lord English and when Caliborn bites his leg off, to the more stylized version with Calliope and Caliborn’s usual sprites. Given their sprites imply they at least have some semblance of Lips, I’d say even their skull has a layer of flesh, but likely no cartilage, given they lack a nose.
Could passive and active be compared to being server and client players?
I mean, by definition the Server is Active and the Client is Passive, but everyone is both a Server and a Client at the same time, so I don’t know where you’re getting at here.
If you prototype a kernelspirte with a toy, does the toy become sentient and gain the personality of whst the toys based on (ex. Prototyping a transformer toy.)
If it’s a figurine like that, representing a specific character, chances are it’ll be like a character. Others that are more non-specific, like the Harlequin Doll only seem to gain mildly prankster-y patterns of behavior.
I also know nothing about Doctor Who, but I’m pretty sure I know they’re like, a pretty big god damn deal. Stop trying to buff your Underlings and Royalty plz.
Also you don’t want a horde of Imps with plungers.
what exactly is the difference between active and passive? what makes one person passive and the other active?
Okay, since I’ve been getting a lot of redundant questions I’ve already answered about Classes, that I have the Quiz Descriptions for, and that I’ve talked about at various points, let me link this again for all your Class needs.
What do you think about the theory where only one player survives and ends up become apart of the eldritch or just becomes ones because of how lonely/distraught they are?
I think there’s no basis to why it’d be like that since there’s really no reason why living flesh would be twisted into that of an Eldritch Monstrosity merely because of loneliness, because I still think suicide would count as Just push come to shove, because Doomed Timelines and Sessions tend to be slated for complete erasure and leaving just like, God Tiers alive in a failed Session seems kind of counterproductive, and because it doesn’t exactly align with the Horrorterrors’ goals and means of manipulation and forcing sacrifice in a Session- You’d think someone who’s gone through so much loss and death would be actively trying to prevent it, not causing it time and time again across infinite Sessions.
I’d see them becoming Horrorterror food a lot easier. Still an interesting headcanon in general though.
Also, think about Doomed Rose in the Davesprite Timeline, and Dirk in Game Over. They didn’t die. But they gave up. Giving up to complete and utter defeat and loneliness seems to count for the Timeline as the End as well.
im curious: if a human/troll child could genetically, not ectobiology-y, happened, how would the naming work? would u just even it out and theyd have a five letter name? and how would they get the name, considering humans have run of the mill names while troll names are decided by whatever theyr lusus first says shortened to six letters? even if its not really a cut n dry answer, its still fun to thing abt uwu
Okay! So, let’s talk about Human/Troll Genetics, apparently this is a thing we’re doing here today. Upon further inspection of the Credits, I’ve noticed that the one Grub I thought was a Johnkat grub is actually a mix of Karkat and Kanaya! I haven’t been able to identify babies with Troll hair traits, nor grubs with Human hair traits, so that already puts into question the notion that Trolls and Humans are genetically compatible, I’d need to check the babies’ hair one by one and every Kid and Troll’s hair, post and pre-scratch, to check 100% sure if there’s any mix like that. BUT for the sake of this argument, let’s say they can indeed mix with one another, and they can actually have babies together without the Ectobiology process.
First of all, we don’t see any Troll-Human Hybrids, nor is the notion even mentioned once, the closest we come to this is Davepeta, with traits from Dave and Nepeta, and they’re a Sprite, so they don’t count. So chances are if Trolls and Humans can mix, their traits are a mix of both parents, but they can only be a Troll, or a Human. Now this makes things easier- If they’re a Troll, their names will be 6-letters long, if they’re a Human, they’ll be 4-letters long, because that’s how the comic arbitrarily names them and not because of anything specific. To be honest, I bet they could name them any number of letters, but shrug. This makes this question much more easily answer-able.
However, for our next question, the thing we have to answer isn’t who gives them their name- It’s how the family structures would work for these hybrids. Do Humans supply genetic material for the Mother Grub, who then births Humans along with the Troll Eggs? Or do Trolls/Humans get pregnant and raise the Humans or Grubs in a nuclear family environment? Would Lusii actually raise a Human Baby as well? Is there any possibility for Trolls to become pregnant or Humans to become pregnant from a Troll?
This is the kind of rabbit hole this kind of question leads you down to. So I’ll let you ponder from here.
Does the condense send materials from conquered planets back to alternia or is alternia self sufficient enough not to need off world materials?
No idea honestly, but there’s Drones to build and to enforce the law and to carry genetic material, so chances are they take care of collecting resources and making stuff through the planet automatically, which makes me think they’re self-sufficient. To a degree at least.
could Maids create new versions of their aspect, like a Maid of Breath creating new types of air (like poisonous air, or air that sets things on fire, etc)
That’s not ‘new types of their Aspect’ I’d say. That’s just intrinsic to the Aspect. Poisonous Air is still Air. Wind fanning fires is still Wind.
Wait so why did didnt Karkat go back towards the beginning to troll John ? Was it just because he arbitrarily decided to at one point and stuck to it all the way through?
CG: OK, LOOK. CG: LET’S JUST AGREE TO NEVER BRING IT UP AGAIN. CG: THE STUFF I WAS BABBLING ABOUT EARLIER. EB: yeah, well we never really talked about it in the past, so i guess we do agree to that. CG: BUT IF I TALK TO YOU AGAIN CG: IN YOUR FUTURE, LIMITED THOUGH IT IS CG: YOU’LL REMEMBER MY EMBARRASSING SHIT CG: SO I GUESS CG: I’LL HAVE TO TROLL YOU BACKWARDS? EB: told you bro!!!!!!! EB: hahahaha.
(About Jade having Earth C) Post retcon it was Vriska tho right? Presumably she left it with someone. I don’t remember if it showed her giving it to anyone.
Oh! Post-Retcon it was the same, except instead of Jade shrinking it, they Captchalogued the whole thing.
Yep.
That’s right.
John’s Dad’s modus is fucking ridiculous, it’d seem either Wallet, or at least Wallet + 8-Ball have the Size Restrictions lifted off to the point of being able to get a whole planet in there as long as you’re far enough to like, see it from Space.
Do you think the sylladex made robbery a huge problem on the beta kids earth?
Not at all, have you seen the messes you can do with Sylladices? I bet most Captcha-burglars accidentally end up throwing things around and screaming aimlessly. There’s also the possibility of items in shops having anti-captchaloguing measures, or maybe even some sort of Sylladex turn-off requirement in public establishments.
Are the sylladexes/strife specibuses actual real things in the Homestuck universe or is it a construct for the viewers? Like if someone actually makes their specibus hammerkind are they physically not allowed to effectively use any other weapon?
Dad gifted John an Array Modus for his birthday- Those things are not just real things, they’re commercialised in the setting. You may only wield weapons of one kind per Specibus, but you can just. Buy a new Specibus for your deck, I bet.
4 At the very least, 8 Likely, 11 Perhaps. 4 Because it’s the Alpha Session, 8 Likely because it became a merged session of 8 Players, 11 Perhaps because Terezi, Karkat and Kanaya are Players from a prior Session that went through with them. You may be able to make a case for Dad being a 12th?
Well John captchalogued Casey, so you can do that when alive
You can captchalogue alive things, yes, but consider Casey is a dumb NPC Salamander- Sorry Casey I love you, but Consorts are notoriously dim-witted and kind of act like what they are meant to be- NPCs. So I still think you wouldn’t be able to captchalogue people, specially people who are relevant, but yes like… Maybe Doomed people?
Vriska didn’t even go through the door, you’d have more of a reason to count Jack Noir as a Constellation than Vriska, and I’m only counting the ones that went through it first- The group that was in the Pad during Act 7.
If someone were to equip their strifekind with a toy/replica weapon, would it become real? In one of my fan ventures, one of the characters equips one of those costume props and it turns real.
Don’t see why it would, you may be able to allocate it but you’d still be using them as useless toy replicas to clobber people with. Captchalogues store things and let you retrieve them, they don’t exactly bend reality more than being a pocket storage dimension. If anything, much like Dave’s ½ sword specibus, it may force the Strife Specibus into a Fake Weapon version of the specibus.
so prettty much without vriska, they all would of died? vriska is what made their session suceed?
Nope. We really don’t know how the Session would’ve gone without Vriska, since John also took the Ring away, so there would’ve been no Aranea anywhere. The confrontation of the Kids against Grimbark Jade and Crocker Jane would’ve been inevitable, but without the rogue element that was Aranea, they could’ve had a chance.
In fact Vriska’s only usefulness to the Session was to speed up the Endgame.
Do you think it’s possible a particularly powerful godteir (probably blood or heart) could mend the rift between Prospit and Derse, thus causing the endgame battle to never happen?
why did gamzee never die?
Literally abusing his plot armor. There’s a few things going on about him that could include other stuff but I don’t want to go too much into detail since I wasn’t the one to come up with the idea, however the main conception is that Gamzee’s the Bard of Rage, and as the Aspect of confusion and ‘this plot is bullshit’, he quite literally, intentionally, abuses the way the story is constructed and treats him to simply. Not die.
A prince of time destroys time. Does that mean he could stop time loops and certain paradoxes?
Likely not, severing a Time Loop and allowing it to be left unfinished seems like a handy power, but by the integrity of Paradox Space’s Timeline system, that just. Wouldn’t work. If you stop a Time Loop half-way, you’re preventing it from starting it, which means whatever already happened wouldn’t have happened. Unless by ‘stop time loops’ you meant they sort of. Insert themselves there and complete the Time Loop in a different way than it was intended but still effectively close up everything, then by all means, that could be an interesting take.
I think that it would either be 4, alphas, or 8, alphas+betas. The trolls didn’t actually go through their door, yet we have their constellations. Also, the frog forms before anyone can even go through the door, so maybe it’s just predetermined to be constellations based on the players of the session.
Oh that’s true, they didn’t go through! So likely a 8-Constellation Earth, although Kanaya, Karkat, Terezi and Callie could still be possibly included.
sometimes it's so hard to know what emotion you're feeling when responding to an ask so sometimes I misinterpret that you're actually being mean when you're really not
Rule of thumb is that I’m never being mean! I’m more likely to like… Delete an ask I’d answer to angrily than actually answer it like that.
I put it through Google Translate, then isolated the individual sentences to get a more accurate reading of what it said.
ちょっと聞くだけで、なぜカラパキアンに口がないのですか?彼らはどのように話すのですか? ->
Just a moment to hear, why does not Kalapakian have a mouth? How do they talk? ->
“Just a moment to ask“, “Why does not Carapacian have a mouth?“ ”
How do they talk?”
Google Translate can be messy at times but if you know how to work around it, it’s a good tool.
Why does carapacian become kalapakian?
Because of the way the Japanese alphabet is composed. While Kanji represent concepts and words, Hiragana and Katakana are what’s most directly translatable to the western Alphabet- Except, Hiragana and Katakana are syllabic systems.
Where the English Language uses A B C D E… The Japanese Language has composite Syllables and vowels. A I U E O, Ta, Chi, Tsu, Te, To, Ka, Ki, Ku, Ke, Ko, and so on, with ‘N’ being the only single consonant. Hiragana is for words in general, while Katakana is an equivalent system made pretty much to use foreign words (As far as I understand it).
Now, Carapacian is not actually a word. It’s a made-up term for the Prospitians and Dersites, you could localize it as whatever the word for ‘Carapace’ is in Japanese, but they didn’t and just went for the word in the comic, Carapacian.
The thing about Japanese is, you have to approximate the sound of the word in whatever language it’s written when writing it in Katakana or saying it, transforming it to how you’d phonetically say it in Japanese. Carapacian becomes カラパキアン, at least in the way they wrote it. You could make a case for maybe different spellings since it’s not a standard word, or maybe this is the spelling the fan-translation in Japanese gave to them? I have no idea. But the character for the hard C ‘Ca’ sound in Carapacian is Ka. And there’s no distinction between L and R sounds in Japanese, you effectively use Ra, Ri, Ru, Re and Ro for L sounds as well. So since Google Translate has no idea what ‘Carapacian’ is, it just randomly assigns it an L instead of an R because it could be either.
And so, C-A-R-A-P-A-C-I-A-N becomes KA-RA-PA-KI-A-N, and Google Translate interprets the ‘RA’ as ‘LA’ arbitrarily. (In fact, while translating the whole sentence showed Google Translate saying ‘KaLApakian’, translating カラパキアン without anything else yielded ‘KaRApakian’, so you can’t get more arbitrary than that. Thanks Google).
At least as far as my understanding of Japanese goes.
