We can see that the ancestors have different eight letter names than their pre scratch selves... Why did they change their names?? Are they still the same people?? Is the eight letter thing trolls do once they reach adult hood or something??

They’re not names. They’re titles. A lot of them specifically, in fact, are given by Mindfang, which may mean the 8-letter naming convention is just her using her Quirk. Like, seriously, Expatri8 only works for Mindfang, and with Scratch, while The Condesce/Baroness does follow the rule, Her Imperious Condescension and The Grand Highblood definitely don’t. Psi’s title, too, only fits if you use the Psi symbol at the beginning and count it as a single symbol. So yeah the Ancestor Naming is all titles, and very messy.

Knights usually assist the space player with the genesis frog, but what about a knight of space? Would they be all alone or would it just be anyone that helps?

Knights tend to be helpful in general, but the question is- Why wouldn’t literally anyone, and like, every single person in a Session if they wanted to too, be able to help with the Frog Breeding?

does each aspect have a basic sort of, premise? like a all time players can time travel. but it just depends on the class in how these powers are used? idk sorry to bother you :P

All Aspects seem to have general powers you may be able to use, but it heavily depends on the Class.

if to trolls were to have an ectobaby what would its blood color be? like is it random? or always the higher or lower blood or something in between??

Looking at the Credits, I think the Grubs always share the Blood Color of one of the parents.

(same anon from last ask) but which parent is random right?

Likely, since the whole process seems automated and randomized. You can likely specify if you know how the machines work though.

so if only two people are playing a session do they automatically default to lord and muse?

We don’t know. Likely not because Classes still are tied to your nature and personality. The game won’t assign something you’re not to you.

Can you help me with something? Can you get your followers to ask Man at Arms on YouTube to make Doomed Dave's Caledscratch

I mean, no I can’t? I really don’t have the commanding force to do that, the following and such, and even if I had, I don’t think pitting a bunch of people to spam Youtube Comments about Homestuck Weapons to be very productive- I’m sure they’ve already been told about stuff like that. I don’t know I kind of feel bad sending people to comment en masse about anything anywhere.

Also if I were to request a Homestuck Weapon to Man at Arms I’d likely go for a Zilly weapon? Or some of the other weapons in general, Caldescratch isn’t that cool.

What do you think the purpose of signs are on Alterania?? I know that having the same sign means that you have similar personalities, but that’d clearly be pretty rare?? And it may describe personality traits but trolls get their signs really young when they aren’t really developed yet, sooo... Just wondering if we have any extra Alteranian knowledge on signs

I mean the way they coincide with personality stuff is a metatextual tool, and myths in-canon about Troll Lineage. They’re convenient and not supposed to make sense on a physical sense.

As they are though? Signs seem to just be. You know. Ways to identify people of different castes in a tyrannical society.

Why are lowerbloods so abundant?? I know this sounds like a dumb question but hear me out... yes lowbloods tend to have mental powers but they don’t help astronomically. Also, highbloods have a tendency to cull lowbloods while lowbloods killing highbloods is almost unheard of. And it’s not like they live much longer to have more grubs, so why is it such an imbalance??

Precisely because they die a lot more. There’s just more of them to offset their shorter lifespans, while Highbloods can live basically forever so there’s less of them. Otherwise the Universe would be overcrowded with immortal Violets.

Do we have any blue why jadebloods are so rare?? Also, do all jadebloods eventually turn into rainbow drinkers? Finally (sorry for all the jadeblood questions) I feel as though in one of the friendsims some character said that we wouldn’t want to be in the sun unless we were a jadeblood. Do jadebloods have some sort of sunlight immunity??

Yeah Jadebloods are okay with the Sun, and it’d seem Rainbowdrinkerism is just a Jade mutation, like Goldbloods having Psionics. Maybe rarer? It’s hard to tell because on one side they’re said to be mystical creatures that are unheard of, but on the other hand they’re Mutations exclusive to Jadebloods so it’s not like Trolls usually see Jades going around.

As for their rarity, they’re caretakers of the Mother Grub. Chances are their rarity stems from the fact they’re conditioned and forced to stay underground so Land and Sea Trolls alike barely see them. Again though, there’s the fact that Jades seem to be in the safest place in Alternia, so they’re less likely to just. Die like other Lowbloods. So to not overcrowd the caverns, there’s less of them.

so let’s say the alpha kids were just in their OWN session with just themselves and no beta or troll kids would they fail considering non of them are space or time players? and what would happen to their session if they didn’t prototype anything (while being the only ones in their session) would they just be stuck?

They’re not even a viable Session to begin with, the Alpha Kids didn’t prototype anything. They’re in a 100% unwinnable Session. The Kids at least had everything set up to actually have the possibility of winning. So yeah, stuck.

would the game turn a player(s) closest the aspect of space and/or time in order to stop their session from being “stuck” if they were the only ones in the session like what that previous ask said about the alpha kids

Skaia offers you means to grow and is generally benevolent in the way it wants to perpetuate existence and gives tools to create and do pretty much everything within the Medium. But don’t confuse its general benevolence with caring about you.

SBURB doesn’t care if you’re Doomed because of a bad Player composition. Unwinnable Sessions are the most abundant ones.

If my memory serves me right, minions aren't a command class thing - it's dead session thing. something along the lines of "with every planet you deal with you get new underling"

It does seem a Dead Session thing but the only Dead Session example we have is ALSO an example of the Master Classes, so honestly who knows.

Was the creation of the dream bubbles due to feferi being a life player, or her unique lusus? And did she die because of that or was it something else? I have a bad memory I'm sorry :(

She died because Eridan was an asshole and nothing in relation to anyone. She did make the Bubbles BOTH Because she’s the Witch of Life and because of her Lusus. Considering Gl’bgolyb as her Familiar, her Classpect and her Communion with the Horrorterrors are actually intrinsically tied together.

do you think struggling with heritage or family could be a blood player trait? i mean, blood is about ties, and struggling with the people your *blood* ties you to, and ur responsibilities with those ppl... idk it seems fitting yet its not rly seen in canon, since all our blood players are trolls. (although i guess karkat does unconsciously carry with him burdens left by the signless’ legacy?)

I bet it’d be, yeah, heritage and family are very likely tied to Blood.

Why the Alternian alphabet in Homestuck is different from Friendsim?

Homestuck makes revenue through merchandise and ads. Hiveswap and Friendsim are games. Homestuck can get away with pop culture parodies and taking Daedric from the Elder Scrolls series for a silly alien language, but if you want to sell the game you can’t exactly use copyrighted material as easily.

So what exactly would happen if one were to start a solo game of sburb? Like I know it wouldn't go well, but what'd happen?

Dead Session. Refer to Caliborn.

How does a universe normally die? Like, the kids and troll whole universe didn't just die right away as soon as the kids entered the session, and when they did it was because of special circumstances (Snowman).

They’re frogs so… Likely they do have a life cycle and die.
