So, meteors fly through the Skaian defense portals leading to the home planet of the players, right? And both exiles and paradox clones use these to get to the home planet, right? And the time period the portals lead to varies, so some paradox clones become ancestors while some end up like A2 Damara, arriving after the apocolypse. So what's stopping the same from happening to exiles? Isn't it possible for an exile to arrive before sburb starts, maybe even changing history or a player's entry?
I would be technically feasible for an Exile to do that, or even a Player. The way Homestuck’s Timeline works, though, this wouldn’t ‘change’ the Timeline, it’d have been the way it went down in the first place, though. Also the deviation seems to be rare, Damara, Roxy and Dirk being sent so far ahead isn’t quite the standard.

Nope, signs are caste-specific. They’re ways for people to be identified, so they should give information on the caste and associate to a specific name. If you went out with, say, a green Scorpio symbol, you’d likely get spotted immediately by a Drone as a caste mismatch and very possibly executed for hiding your identity.

Also none of the ship mentions in here are meant to be negative or positive, simply my own opinions on what I saw in the comic. Okay so, first off I’d like to start off strong with saying there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY IN HELL John would live alone at the end of the series. After Act 7, the MSPA snapchat depicted many people living with others, such as davejadekat, rosemary, dirk and jake, etc. However, we see John huddled in his house alone. This is fucking bullshit, because if you think that Dave or Jade wouldn’t live with him, you’re absolutely wrong. Dave and John hadn’t seen each other for YEARS and while I understand the fact that Dave and Karkat were a budding couple, I still firmly believe that Dave would have convinced Karkat to live with John as well. Jade on the other hand, WATCHED HER BROTHER EXPLODE and was alone on the ship for at least 2.5 years, wracking her mind as to why he had to die. She would ABSOLUTELY want to live with John at least for a little bit to catch up and enjoy being with her brother again.
Moving onto relationships. We all know the romance between John and Rose was essentially thrown out the window, but that happened honestly way before the ending, so despite my Salt™ about it, I’m gonna move onto the relationship with Roxy. The chemistry between the two was apparent the literal moment they met, citing Roxy’s immediate “hmm boyfriend material?? prolly def” when she was listening to him talk. Also the fact that when John teleported himself and Roxy to the new timeline, they were being cute as fuck and blushing bc they had to hold hands!! This, combined with the fact that the two of them mentioned the other in other conversations that 100% had hints of a romance, or at very least a crush. However, when the comic ended, this was completely thrown out the window, as you all know. Yes, there was a brief shot of the three of them walking, but this honestly means nothing because it’s SO obvious that the ghostwriters wanted RoxyCallie canon rather than JohnRoxy canon.I think the only reason John is in that shot is because Hussie himself probably wanted him there.
In fact, I think the MAIN REASON Hussie wanted JohnRoxy endgame was because he was unable to make JohnRose canon due to fandom pressure for Rosemary. But again, due to fandom pressure and now new pressure from staff members and writers, he was forced to throw away any of Johns development for placating the fandom. Another relationship that was given no conclusion was his spade feelings for Terezi as well. This was brief, but honestly I’d argue it was hinted at for a long time as well. All of John’s development and all of his relationships were thrown out the god damn window because of the fandom and Hussie’s staff pressuring Hussie to write what THEY wanted, rather than what he wanted. John was the main character of this story but he got no real conclusion, and the “ending” he got was nothing more than an empty life with no one around him to actually give him the happy life he deserves. Fucking!! Especially after losing his dad too!! Did people really just accept that John was just peachy after all the shit that happened to him?? No!! He was obviously traumatized but he’s just an expert at bottling shit, and that makes it even worse that he lives alone, because if he starts panicking about any of it, there’s no way he’d be able to contact anyone!! He’d try to deal with it himself because that’s how he’s always done it, and he’d be a MESS.
John Egbert deserved SO MUCH BETTER and he got royally fucked by that bullshit ass ending.
Okay, I just want to ask something here. And I know you started the post saying expressly this is your way of seeing things and that doesn’t need to match everyone’s opinions, which, yeah cool! But I do really have to ask.
What staff?
I can understand the frustration about dumped ships and John living alone, and yeah John deserves love and affection, but the fact there’s this blame of Hurr Durr Fandom Is Evil Hussie Was FORCED To Not Make JohnRose or JohnRoxy Canon is kind of… Really extremely iffy.
Like, Hussie if this was about Hiveswap, yeah that’s a more collaborative effort to do stuff, but when it comes to Homestuck itself, and specially the ending… Don’t you think the author that has made the story holds the last word here? Hell so few people liked the ending, doesn’t that precisely show Hussie’s not exactly out there to placate the Fandom?
I don’t agree with any of the Ship Drama going on in this post, let alone the fact that John and Roxy knew each other for less than a day before the ending of the comic, even if they had a cute dynamic (And I DO ship Roxygen), but if you want to blame someone for the development of the characters, don’t look for a scapegoat, Hussie is notorious for doing his own thing and showing us this bizarre epic that more often than not goes to extents we just weren’t expecting and does stuff we weren’t expecting. I don’t think blaming ‘Hussie’s Staff’ for John’s end-game relationships instead of him is really correct.

That is true, however we do not know anything about the Twins thus far, because they’re an extreme oddity in the system. Once we know more about what it means for them to be Twins we’ll see more about that.
Besides their Signs are listed as two different Aspects on the Extended Zodiac but, let’s be fair, it’s just the same sign flipped turnways, and Sprite Flipping is just A Thing that happens so they maaaay as well be the same sign?
Talking about the twins, is there some sort of connection between Breath and Doom that no one has figured out?
Nothing too specific I can think of, if they were keeping the duality 100% they would likely have been the same or complementary Aspects, the fact they’re Doom and Breath if anything kind of tells me maybe they are not 100% in synch and the same as they seem to imply.
I was reading homestuck again and have realized that Feferi cuts off Eridan right after her lusus dies(the vast glub occurs then that kills sollux). Which is also the exact point in time where she no longer needed Eridan to feed her lusus. She is also extremely uncaring about Eridan during that dumbing session as she just tells him to "clam up" and uses her fish puns while telling him he is the emotional equivelant of a trashcan. What are your thoughts on this?
Feferi didn’t dump Eridan ‘when her Lusus didn’t need to be fed any longer’, she dumped Eridan ‘when her entire race was Dead so all those Genocide Tendencies of his wouldn’t really matter that much anymore’.
A thing to take into account about Eridan being an Orphaner is that it’s a title. A job. Gl’bgolyb needs to be fed, and if it wasn’t Eridan, anyone else would take care of it, because that is an explicit requirement for the entire Troll Race to be kept alive. In fact, Eridan says how easy it’d be to not feed Gl’bgolyb as often, let her wipe out a few of the lower castes, but he doesn’t because of Feferi.
Yeah Eridan was a victim of his society and his caste’s views and the fucked upness of Alternia in general- But in the whole Feferi-Eridan ordeal when people want to criticize Feferi they often neglect both the explicit attempts by Eridan to wipe out the Land Dwellers, and the fact Feferi acts as a balancing force for him to not do that exactly.
Feferi dumps him because she’s not made to keep trying to prevent someone from becoming a mass murderer, because it takes an enormous emotional toll on her to the point that she can simply no longer deal with it anymore. And in fact she does offer to still be friends afterwards- Even looking past his views that heavily contradict her own and the tiring emotional theatrics, as long as she doesn’t have to romantically get involved with him she’s still fine with talking to him and being friendly to him.
So in the end? Remember that Feferi could’ve had literally any Troll in the entirety of the Alternian Empire help her feed her Lusus. But Eridan only sabotaged his easiest way to wipe out landwellers because of Feferi.
Additionally, it was ALSO easy for Eridan. He and Vriska did FLARP campaigns together often. Vriska needed the Trolls to feed her Lusus. Which left a bunch of Lusii without a Troll to take care of. Until he and Vriska fell apart, Lusii to feed Gl’bgolyb were basic spoils of battle derived from the brutal nature of FLARP, it’d barely even count as treasure, more like just casualties of an average campaign.
I really want to reread Homestuck since my memory of specifics is really patchy due to all the time that's passed since I started reading it, during hiatuses, etc. But it seems like an extremely daunting task. How would you advise pacing it? Read when you have free time like any book? Set a page-based schedule?
Really just read it when you can/want just like you would any piece of media! It seems daunting when you consider everything at once ,but do remember the comic came out in progressive updates so like. Every page or bunch of pages has something to look for or something enjoyable, you just gotta find your speed.

Read-throughs are slower, but you can also put them on in the background and do other things while listening to them

About the Breath and Doom pairing question, it could be indicative of how people describe acrobatics? Like how acrobatics requires to fly but also to follow a strict path/serve the audience with their actions? Also (in a lesser sense) could act as a leader and servant type of deal?
It would seem, given Trace mentioned about there being a lot of horns in this Friendsim, that we may be getting Zebede (4 Horns) and the Soleil Twins (Another 4), so we may be able to tell more of this duality tomorrow.
If a player were awake on their moon before the session, and they snooped around enough, could they find their god-tier bed and ascend pre-entry? I know this would involve some sort of waking/dream body shenanigans like Dirk, and more importantly _knowledge_ of how the bed even works, but would it be possible if given the right turn of events?
I don’t think so. See, the thing about the Quest Bed is that your Main Body needs to be on it. Quest Beds only exist when the Lands and the Battlefield are active, and require a spare life, while the Crypt Slabs may be there before entry, and require no extra lives- But it arguably still NEEDS the Main Body.
If your Dream Self died on it pre-entry, you would not go God Tier, because your main body would still be your living self, so you’d just squander a life.
That being said if you did die and then someone kissed you, pre-Session, you may be able to wake up as the Dream Self and then do that, but again it’d be indecently serendipitous, both needing to be corpsesmooched likely before anyone even knows what SBURB even is, and then deciding to go down to the core of the Moon and die on this slab. Hell at that point you likely don’t even know your Aspect, so you’d have a high chance of dying on the wrong slab.
Maybe a Maid of Light though, through sheer luck… Although then again do remember God Tiering isn’t always necessarily required or even overly benefitial- Wait no, no!
You CAN NOT because you NEED to get up to the top of your Echeladder before you can God Tier! Jane, slowly climbing up in her daily life for years was only getting like the 10th rung at 16 years old, you would not be able to feasibly level up all the way before entering the Game, since there are not enough threats of the level of Underlings outside of the game.

Being a Seer of Doom to me means being highly fatalist internally- Always anxious about stuff and seeing the worst possible outcomes and fearing what’s to come, but at the same time, seeing these bad things, trying to prevent them from happening. Someone who while still fearing what’s to come, doesn’t want to give in to the worst of the worst, and will try to help others who’re going through rough stuff get through it, guiding them through their Doom until they come out safely out the other side. As such I try to keep being optimistic and looking for rational explanations and outcomes to stuff, even while still considering what could go down badly.
Also, I am a Seer of Doom because I saw it in a Dream. I woke up in my bedroom in Prospit and looked out the window, then saw in my mind’s eye, “If you go outside right now, you will die.” Then I woke up.

Think about Blood not in terms of Leadership or Inspiration then- Specially since a good chunk of that could be tied to Class stuff- And think more of it in terms of attachment, either to people to a cause.
Talking about Dreams, a lot of mine are crazy, weird and diverse. Like, one Day I dream of having a crush on Rose and the other I dream of ghosts haunting me and aliens invasions. Heck, I dream I had a diner with hussie himself at a voodoo restaurant.

Okay so, complicated question: what Aspect(s) does the concept of animacy fall under? Specifically talking about attributing life or will to inanimate objects (like people do with Tamagotchis, or treating their phones like a pet dog) -- I consider it a sort of "conceptual life" (vs life like you and me), where objects, characters, concepts, etc are subjectively alive in that they elicit reactions from people in the same way an actually living person could. In my dreams/nightmares, someone's/things is always on fire or being chased, and my mother is always being monsterized. In one dreams I was walking in a maze of mirrors with my mom, sis, and dad whilst walking my mom was next to a tv slowly sinking into it saying, 'i'm fine', and her eyes grew huge and she became extremely cartoony like when cartoon characters get slammed by something. In another one a building was on fire and my mom turned into a burnt corpse. I like talking about dreams/nmares
