Me: *hasent played the latest friendsim yet, also follows 4 different Homestuck analysis blogs but is trying to avoid spoilers* welp, time to advoid tumblr

The crux of late playing! That’s why I tend to wait a week until I post stuff on this blog. Although I’ve been more lax in my personal blog.

Any theories as to who is going to be in friendsim vol 14: of cleanliness and clownliness?

I want to say Marsti and Marvus, but I kinda think Marvus is going to be in the last Friendsim.

All indigobloods are STRONG but also OBSESSED and POSSESSIVE. Eq with Nep for her safety, Amisia with the MC in her good end, Zebruh with lowbloods, Galekh without his footnotes basically ordered you to go with him and clear up the rainbowdrinker thing. Horuss with his relationship with Rufioh (although Meulin's meddling might be the culprit there) and Darkleer couldn't stop lamenting his exile according to Mindfang. And Aradiabot with destroying things I guess?

Let’s see how Nihkee holds up.

While Meulin has been perceptive with shipping, she sucks at being a moirail to Horuss by telling him how to act and just smile despite his equally-terrible situation. Is there any way for her to be better with her classpect?

Honestly she just needs to stop being such an obsessive shipper- How that’d fit with her Role afterwards is up to anyone’s guess.

The opposite of Hope isn't Despair? (Danganronpa nod) Rage should have been Despair.

Hope embodies both Hope and Despair, for its presence and absence. Remember Aspects aren’t opposite, they’re complementary!

Okay I know Caliborn has suspenders and a bow tie on his Lord outfit and calliope has a bow tie on her muse outfit, is that the actual muse and Lord outfit or do they just have that? I'm trying to figure out what the outfits look like. Lord is just short sleeves long pants, long cape? No hood?

The suspenders and bowtie seem to be Caliborn and Callie’s additions, but in Caliborn’s case at least, it fits the whole “Time Lord” reference to Doctor Who. So you could easily go either way.

Do note, however, the Lord Outfit does have a Hood!

It’s hard to notice because, with the simplistic coloring it has no detail, but that bit jutting out from the cape is most likely a hood Caliborn never uses.

What do you think MSPA Reader/The portragonist of Friendsim's classpect is? They seem like a hero of blood

Blood is most definitely their Aspect, like it’s the most blatant thing ever. Thief and Rogue may be good fits given all of the outlaw and stealing references- Stealing a rocket and ending in Alternia, living running from the law, taking friendship from wherever they may find it… At the first volumes I may have said a Thief of Blood, but they’ve developed into a more sympathetic character as time goes on! While they like friendship and definitely benefit from it, it seems like them befriending characters more often than not ends up helping said characters lately, so I may go for a Rogue of Blood.

What do you think of the "selfishness" vs "selflessness" of the Classes? I know Thieves get a bad rep for being seen as completely selfish (and I can understand why!) but I don't think most people really understand the difference between selfish and "selfish". Care to elaborate to everyone (including me) what that means?

Selfish vs Selfless is usually seen by people as an inherent sort of bad vs good, but that really is not the case, and I think a good example of this divide is Jane. Jane, when Jake made himself oblivious to her obvious crush on him, was shoved into a very Passive role by him- She was the one receiving all the baggage from Dirk and Jake being awkward dumbasses and not being able to talk stuff out properly, and this really takes a huge toll on her. She is their friend, she cares about them and loves them deeply! But having them nagging about romantic issues over and over and over drains her until she eventually explodes.

The Selfish vs Selfless divide’s way of working is pretty much the same as the Extrovert vs Introvert, people have a lot of false conceptions and ideas of what means to be an Extrovert or an Introvert, but it doesn’t necessarily relate to how much someone enjoys to meet new people or do stuff with others, but rather how they feel about it. Introverts feel drained by long periods of interaction with others and need to recharge, while Extroverts feel drained when not socially interacting- Note this is all a gross oversimplification, but it works for this example.

As such, just like Extroversion and Introversion, it’s not like Active Classes are only out for themselves and Passive Classes only care about others, but it denotes a tendency and a preference. Jane can definitely be Selfless, but she NEEDS attention and care to herself to be functional. It’s ‘Her first, Others second’, not because she’s bad, but because unless she’s in tip-top shape, she’ll bottle stuff up and end up exploding on everyone. Of course this means that most people who are 100% out for themselves and are Selfish in the bad way ARE Active Classes, which leaves this bad taste of what Active Classes may generally be. But that doesn’t make ALL Active Classes selfish in the bad way. Meanwhile, Passive Classes can also be Selfish and take care of themselves, and in fact, this is the crux of a lot of Passive Players, that they don’t care ENOUGH about themselves. Roxy herself mentions it, how she’s way too selfless to the point of putting her friends before herself, and that causes conflict with her! John ends up depressed and with nothing to do because he’s been a very reactive character through all of the story- There’s these big schemes and plans made around him and he’s led by people to fix other people’s problems and make people happy! But look at him after the game, and even during the 3-year trip- Once he loses the purpose of aiding others, he doesn’t have anything to do with himself, and spirals into inaction and depression. Neither out-for-themselves Active Classes, nor disregard-themselves Passive Classes are good, but the one extreme with Active Classes are seen as more morally wrong, while the other extreme with Passive Classes are seen as Tragic, creating this unfair divide.

Pair with it the Role of STEALING, and you have a molotov cocktail of misunderstanding and gray morality. Thieves Steal for Their Benefit, so Rogues are immediately seen as having the moral high ground over them because of their Robin-Hood-esque disposition. However, consider, a malicious Rogue infiltrated as a spy in some organization, taking information and data from them to offer to their superiors, very subservient to their bosses and working restlessly, vs a benevolent Thief who’s suffered a great loss because of the Rogue’s organization, and is out for personal revenge to take down their evil plans by any means necessary. Active Classes are more self-driven, yeah, but that doesn’t affect the morality of their actions. Thieves and Rogues take- If they take from you, regardless of the alignment, you’re going to feel like the two of them are bad. If they take from a common enemy, you’re going to feel like the two are good.

In a fatalistic reality where everything seems predetermined, a lot of people, specially those with Passive Dispositions, easily fall prey to complacency and inaction. And while they have a good deal of grey morality in their characters, it takes two Thieves working in tandem to actually move the masses against Lord English. That is the power of an Active Class’ drive, sometimes when everything is stagnant and no one seems to make the first move, it’s important to acknowledge those who actually speak out and say “No, this is wrong”, and state their own values against the world oppressing them.

Sorry, this question isn’t completely Homestuck but would Junko(from Danganronpa) be a Hope Player (cause you mentioned in one previous ask that Hope includes both Hope & Despair)?Maybe a witch of Hope?

I know nothing about Danganronpa except for the fact they’re all seadwellers.

Ok I had this epiphany in the shower and even if it don't have any ground on canon I think that can fit somehow, that basically, the place with the Hussie mansion is in another timeflow called "Kairos" that basically means that there the time isn't linear and basically only serves to opportunities and the normal timeline is the "Kronos" that is the linear time and basically is this sorry for being dumb and annoying I love your blog bye

Not quite sure how that’d quite tie in with Hussie’s place, given we see Lord English enter and interact and time-travel within Hussie-space as well, implying it’s ruled by the same sorta space-time rules.

However that’s is an incredibly interesting thing to point out, Kairos IS qualitative time, opportunistic. LE’s coat is a reference to the Chicago Overcoat, but given his Time Travel powers, suddenly Cairo - Kairos really ties things together very nicely.

It’s occurred to me recently that the MC of Friendsim literally cannot be human, since Alternia and Earth are in different universes. The Cherub Portal could’ve had the power to bring Joey and Dammek across the divide that way, but the MC explicitly arrived just through space travel. What are your thoughts on this?

They’re explicitly stated to be Human from Earth, the fact they arrived to Alternia IS one of the main points of intrigue, specially since they were asleep for two days so literally anything could’ve happened in that time.

@previous anon, I'm pretty sure you can travel from one universe to the next if you just don't look to hard at it; Like the Condy arriving at earth did so without cherub portals, last I checked.

That’s where you’re wrong anon! Condy’s arrival to Earth is another mystery I feel Hiveswap is going to answer, and may actually very well use the Cherub Portal!

I had a realization of sorts while I was in the shower. So like, Lynera's aspect is Rage, and she's really into Bronya, whose aspect is Breath. And like. When was the last time we saw a Rage player in love (of sorts, I guess) with a Breath player? Hm???

That is kind of a long stretch to reference the silly, totally non-canonical GamJohn kiss in DD Ascend.

.....I think they meant Gamtav. If that was sarcasm then.... Sorry, ignore this

OH. Oh shit I forgot about GamTav.

Man, how does one even forget about GamTav?

Maybe my subconscious wanted to forget.

Which of the class pairs are canon? (aside from Thief-Rogue, of course)

Thief-Rogue and Prince-Bard. The other pairs are inferred through context and similarities.

I noticed that the number of spheres Calliope collapsed to form the black hole, 3, also matches the number of leprechaun planets that didn't survive Caliborn's First 8r8k. I think there might be some big connection there, but I am not sure what it would mean. Any ideas?

I’ve been looking at that scene for a while but I don’t quite see any significant connection. It may have to do with another group of threes, but I wouldn’t be able to tell you WHAT exactly. Three Sessions? The Holy Trinity? It may also be an arbitrary stylistic choice.

So I’m a Rogue of Life, and I had a dream today where I was god tier, and I somehow came to the conclusion that electricity (specifically when powering something) is part of the Life aspect. I think it kinda works cause Life sometimes relates to energy, and technology could tie into wealth and privilege. What do you think?

It could by proxy of it being also a Doom Thing, but really, Life, Doom, and likely a bunch of the other Aspects could relate to Electricity in some capacity.

Which aspect holds the most destructive potential, completely materialistically speaking.

I honestly don’t think you could possibly answer this one, all of them have massive destructive potential.

I think you answered this before but what's the significance of the entry items?

It depends for each character, and yes I’ve done a big post about this before! But let me do a brief recap of them.

John’s eating an apple, loss of innocence, beginning of the journey, and in the Gnostic Context, it symbolizes Sophia reaching down to Humanity and giving them the chance to escape the cruel, material world.

Rose smashes a Bottle open, a symbol of Void, a symbol of her Mother, as well as symbolizing the beginning of a journey like how people smash bottles on a ship when it’s first leaving the dock. That’s a thing that happens right?

Dave’s is a game of patience, of waiting, until the Egg cracks and opens up. Again, beginning, but also the Gnostic Egg, to Create a World, you must Destroy one first. The shell of the egg is the world, for the chick to be born, it must destroy it. This is a direct parallel to the way SBURB works to create a Universe.

Finally, Jade has a piñata. While it’s not exactly indicative of a beginning like the rest, maybe because she’s already been dreaming in the game for a long time, she has to smash a symbol of her best friend, which parallels to the Kids having to stop Bec-prototyped Jack afterwards, and perhaps even her assimilation of Bec upon becoming God Tier. Of course she also has to do this blindfolded, like Rose’s Leap of Faith, she has to take a Blind Shot.

Jane evokes John’s entry process, but then there’s no Apple, indicative of a Void Session. Once everyone is together, they enter through Jake’s Caliborn Piñata, hinting on this being a Session that will smackdown with Caliborn at one point, as well as mirroring Jade’s process. And of course, Caliborn’s Collapse into a Black Hole is both because of a Dead Session’s extreme conditions and odd way of working, his Cherub Nature, and the general Destruction of Everything theme surrounding Caliborn.

In the second hs book, pg 281, hussie says having multiple copies of a character operating in totally different circumstances is for characterization but also "proves to be inseparable from one of the story's essential themes." What did he mean by that? What theme?

He’s referring to the theme of Identity! Of who we are, of how we grow as people and growing up. Terezi for example is a PRIME example of this, in which she regrets her choice and wonders if it even mattered given how Paradox Space operates, for the ENTIRETY of the Pre-Retcon part, and once she has a chance to fix it and thinks she’s going to make it better, this new Terezi STRUGGLES with not being able to live up to Game Over! Terezi.

It all boils down to talk of the Ultimate Self again, how all these choices and events do have repercussion on other copies of themselves, how the core of their character is an amalgam of every iteration of themselves and what they do.

… Which actually just made me realize something, I may elaborate on this in a little bit.

Hi it's the book anon again. On page 314 of the 2nd book, it says snowman might have injured slick's eye to make him resemble her former blackrom lover/employee, jack. But I thought she was from the troll session and Jack was from the kids session?

Again, Parallels between Timelines! Everything is repeated in Paradox Space. Everything. Hell, the eye and arm injuries thing may even be mirroring VRISKA’S wounds from the Cue Ball on Jack, retroactively. Snowman may not know about Jack, but the theme of characters sustaining the same wounds or undergoing extremely similar arcs under very different circumstances is interesting when it comes to Fate and Identity.

So the condesce was in johns world as very Crocker, filling gushers with troll blood, then somehow got to Roxy' s world? Via cherub portal?

We don’t know how she went from Alternia to Earth and from Earth to the Post-Scratch version, Cherub Portal may be an answer but there could also be something with LE’s powers, we may see in Hauntswitch/Hiveswap!

So Roxy is linked to cats while other Void players are linked to horses and Dirk is linked to horses while other Heart players are linked to cats. Do you think this has any deeper meaning?

Dirk and Horses are linked because Hussie has stated the Striders to be the closest thing to self-inserts there is, so of course there’d be! Also, Cats, and specially Black Cats are heavily related to Void Imagery, so this makes a lot of sense for Roxy.

Hey, so I have finally narrowed my probable classpects to a complementary pair, but I am not sure which one is my true classpect and which one is inverted. Any tips on differentiating the inverted one from the true one?

I don’t really like considering the ‘inverted’ thing to even be a problem? Like. If you’re doing that you’re only thinking about powers. The Sylph of Light and the Prince of Void may have similar powers, “Creating Truth” “Destroying Lies”, but they’re like FUNDAMENTALLY COMPLETELY DIFFERENT Classes, the personality traits of both the Class and Aspect have like, nothing to do with one another.

So Roxy is linked to cats while other Void players are linked to horses and Dirk is linked to horses while other Heart players are linked to cats. Do you think this has any deeper meaning?

overanalyzing-homestuck:

homestuckexamination:

Dirk and Horses are linked because Hussie has stated the Striders to be the closest thing to self-inserts there is, so of course there’d be! Also, Cats, and specially Black Cats are heavily related to Void Imagery, so this makes a lot of sense for Roxy.

I always thought that it was because Roxy and Dirk swapped animals. Other heart players are associated with cats and other void players are associated with horses.

Alternatively, one could say Dirk isn’t related to horses at all but, instead, ponies and that ponies are a representation of the heart (his love of my little pony, his gift of pony pals to Jane, the fact that Maplehoof is a pony and has a heart symbol on it’s flank) and also black cats are related to void.

Idk I just don’t think Dirk is associated with horses because he’s a Strider because if that was the case, I feel like Dave would also be associated with horses

Well, Dave IS somewhat related to Horses through Knighthood, specially given the Knight in Chess is a Horse, and you could even say somewhat obliquely through the ‘demise in proximity of some horses’ and his prophecy about taking down LE. It should be noted that yeah, Maplehoof has a Heart on the side of its flank so that ties to it to some extent.

That being said though, I feel cats are more tied to the fact Nepeta is Leo than the fact she’s a Heart Player, so there’s a bit of a dubious connection there in my mind.

Do you think Damara could communicate with the dead too?

Very likely.

what happens if you die in the dreambubbles

You die in real life dude.

Jokes aside, if you’re asleep, you just wake up.

What's your favourite panel in all of homestuck. This is a toughy haha

My favorite panels in Homestuck are the “Extreme shot of a desolate Landscape”

I love homestuck so much but I can never find valid critique of it. It's mostly people complaining about the ending or hussie himself. Do you know if anyone out there offers true and real critique of homestuck? I mean maybe I'm alone in that I like to have critique of things I love? I like to see the whole picture, the good and the bad. I have thoughts but they're scattered and I'm scared to share opinions online and I really want to know what other people have to say

I honestly don’t know of anyone who gives a sorta critique of the comic like that because, yeah, most negativity comes off in a biased, salty way. Regardless of the impression I may give with my nigh-obsessive love of this comic though, Homestuck is faaaar from perfect! I definitely understand why people dislike it or can’t go through it- But I still overall think it’s like, the greatest thing I’ve read in my life.

And a lot of critiques of stuff you could have about it are extremely contextual! Like… If you read the comic as it was coming out, a lot of your complaints may actually fade if you read it all without needing to wait. The beginning meanders and goes on nowhere for a while? It was intended, having the audience choose John’s Actions and then suddenly have a mysterious voice in John’s Head be the one giving the commands for a while! And if you don’t like the more Meta-Aspects of Homestuck, that is also a valid complain, but they’re intended to be part of the experience, so it’s also a matter of taste.

Also having a full picture of the comic really lessens a lot of the flaws. Like, a lot of people complain about repeated usage of the r slur, but also in context this was a 2009 Webcomic, and the author has visibly dropped it as the comic evolves and he becomes more progressive, but a few bad-taste-y early choices for jokes may fall flat for sure, specially if you don’t know how Hussie changes as the story goes on.

Other complaints some people use to push against Hussie are an outright misunderstanding or misinterpretation of the story’s context, like the CAUCASIAN joke. (Like seriously, the metaphor for Game-Breaking Agency without regard of consequences being becoming creepy white children? OOF. They are all HORRIFIED to be turned Trickster.)

And others such as the Length of the comic, put off other people from reading it and that is fair! But if you like the content you barely even consider the length, you just keep going on because you want to see what happens next!

It’s hard to really come up objective flaws in Homestuck that don’t amount to taste or make sense in the context of the story/development process of the comic. Maybe some parts could be less exposition-heavy? Maybe there could’ve been more character interactions towards the ending? Maybe some things could’ve been made clearer? Maybe the Epilogue is taking a long time to come out? That’s another thing, with the Epilogue in the future, we technically don’t even have the FULL full picture of Homestuck as a whole, and maybe that will tie up a lot of loose ends.

Still though, from the perspective of someone who doesn’t like criticizing stuff too harshly, and has read the entirety of the comic a few times by now, there’s no complaint I really have that isn’t… Vastly, grossly overshadowed by the good things this story has done for me.

what do the healing stations in soma look like though

A Glory Hole of Well-being.

Upon rewatching Hiveswap, I noticed that Joey is skeptical of Jude’s conspiracy theories and plans, until the monsters are proven to be real and the plan manages to work out. Same goes for her landing on Alternia, in which she doesn’t believe Xefros to be an alien until she sees a pic of him. This echoes Jane’s initial skepticism, with both of them not believing in bizarre stuff until they actually witness it. IMO this could link back to lived experiences being part of Life.

That’s an intriguing outlook on it, yeah it does mirror Jane’s situation quite a bit!

You're so right about the good outweighing the bad in the comic. I think a lot of people have trouble critiquing it because it's very long & hard to understand, and the people who put in the time to understand it obviously aren't going to hate it, so they won't give that much critique. & that so much of what people dislike about it is subjective. For example, I think homestuck is convoluted & hussie often thinks he's making something clear but isn't. He points this flaw out himself in the books.

Yeah, on a first read a looooot can elude you and sometimes something pointed out briefly on this seemingly irrelevant conversation later parallels something much bigger- The grounds for foreshadowing and building the puzzle that is Homestuck is there, but you really need to invest some time or have people point stuff out if you want to get everything, and even then so much is open to interpretation by design.

Ultimately, though, the message Homestuck sends is one of acceptance, of fighting back against an unfair World, of living and growing up and being yourself, so at its core its very message of optimism clashes against criticism- It’s hard to really hate something that’s trying to deliver a message like that, even if there’s a few miss-steps or things you dislike about the presentation itself.

What are your fav underrated homestuck songs? My fav is coolkid and I call it underrated cause I just found it now but boi shit slaps

Oops I meant clockstopper not coolkid

Clockstopper is a really great one. But it’s impossible to choose a single song, specially when also every single song has its Leimotif used somewhere or drawn from another song! So uh… Anything with Flare is a banger though.

Do you know of any recently-started liveblogs?

watch-me-suffer is still on Act 1 but they update quite infrequently. The last ones I know of that started recently are ChaoticWolph’s YT Let’s Read which is nearly up to Game Over, and MissFinefeather that just got done with the Dancestors. Other than those there’s a bit of a gap I hope will get filled soon!

is the ultimate self basically like all the dead kanayas/alternate kanayas being one with the 'main' kanaya? like let's say all those dead kanayas are all part of the one we see at the ending. thats always how i thought of it

It means that even alternate versions of character have influence over the overall arc of the character and their development, that all iterations of a character form the collective concept of that character- That ‘Kanaya’ in the grand scheme of things, conceptually, is every single Kanaya of every Timeline ever, not the Kanaya at the end specifically, for example.

with the troll species living on in the ending, will there be a new fuchsia ruler? and.. would it be somehow possible for all the deceased trolls who never made it to earth c to be reincarnated somehow in a new self? silly thought but i always imagined that happening ^^

Likely no Fuchsia Rulers by birthright, it’s more likely Troll Leaders will be chosen from now on. As for reincarnation, who knows! Technically you could clone all of the dead Trolls.

one of my favorite ideas, in my opinion, is the idea of the "Ultimate Reward"- everyone who died while your session was taking place (so this would include the trolls) gets to come back to life in the new universe

While it’s possible there’s something post-game that could be used to bring them back, it’d seem in-canon that’s not a straight-up mechanic of the game.

What is 1 Cherub unit to human years, approx? I find 1.4 to 1.5, or even 1.45- I just C A N T

It’s hard to say- Given it’s never outright stated canon, it was this fanon thing Hussie agreed on that the Cherubs would be 11 units old to match the Trolls being 6 sweeps old. However you have to consider WHEN to compare them.

If the Cherubs are ‘11′ units old when we meet them, matching with the Alpha Session’s 16-ish range, then that would mean that Cherub Units are 1.45 Years. However, if we go by the comparison that 13 Years = 6 Sweeps, then 11 Units would not be the age of the Cherubs at 16- It would be their age at 13! Which would mean 1 Cherub Unit is 1.18 Years, and that would make Calliope around 13.5 Cherub Units old when Caliborn kills her.

Okay, does Hussie have something against children? In Homestuck proper, most of the dying happened to the beta four when they were thirteen, and in Hiveswap it's always been the very young-seeming trolls who die in the bad ends (Diemen and Boldir aren't confirmed to be very young but they definitely look young to me, and Tirona's confirmed to be little).

Alternia is fucked up and doesn’t care about you regardless of age, also I guess children getting killed in media doesn’t happen as much so we’re not as desensitized as we are to other kinds of violence.

Also all there’s a good lot of adult death in HS too. And just. Everything death.

i was wondering that when your original body dies does is have to be another player that kisses you in order to live through your dream self? idk if you’ve answered this but thanks!

Uuuuuh… That’s a good question. As far as we’ve seen it’s always been kisses from other Players but, maybe not? Maybe it could be a kiss from a non-player or even a Carapace. If that’s the case though where would the line be drawn? Can a Consort kiss you to save you? Can your loyal dog lap your face and have it count?

Would a cherib automatically dominate over their counterpart if they died on their quest bed? I was thinking so, but what if the body is corpse kissed, waking up the other dream self?? Or are they just gone now???

I mean if the Cherub dies and they’re kissed, it’s possible both Dreamselves would wake up. Quest Bed would just God Tier the one Dreamself that one God Tier is for. One body, two Quest Beds, two Dreamselves, two Souls.

Do you think you could be revived by having your dreamself kiss your original self's corpse?

Uuuuuh. Likely but the chances of your Dreamself being close to your normal body when your normal body dies seems quite slim.

What are your theories on the classes of the newest friendsim peeps? (I see Marsti as a Sylph, but no idea about Karako)

Not sure about Marsti, but I’ve talked a bunch about Karako on my main blog @wakraya. Don’t wanna really post spoilers here yet but I couldn’t resist talking about it on my main blog.

so apparently the use of the word juju in homestuck might be mildly racist or derogatory considering the fact the word was used by white settlers in west africa to describe the traditional religions or practices there then traveling to the Americas via the slave trade. what do you think of this?

Well, it can also refer to the vibe- ‘Good juju’ and ‘Bad juju’, which could’ve spawned the use of the term. That being said, I am not exactly an expert in the subject, so I wouldn’t be able to say?

Tbh the whole language culture is weird and there is a lot of words thst came to gain their meaning from rather dark or perturbing things, often involving "which country invaded which territory and pillaged which settlements" context. God, the word slave came from the fact that several islamic countries in past liked to kidnap slavs en masse and sell them into slavery. It was so bad, Russ' had to like, literally conquer several countries on territories it had no need for to stop that.

Jesus. Yeah I can think of one or two words with really dark origins.

Okay but...juju on that beat

I had no idea that was even a song until I looked it up.

So I can't remember anything about jade blood adults and if their sent off planet like every other caste, because isn't it jades who look after the mother grub so technically they already have 'jobs' on alternia and if they are sent off planet what do they do?

I believe that Adult Jades are also implied to be sent off-planet. Given Caste Roles, it’s possible Jades are considered to be caretakers or medics of some sort. There’s also the possibility of there being more than one Mother Grub maybe.

Apparently, there's a Vocaloid song called "Karakuri Pierrot". Any idea what to do with this information?

That was honestly the very first thing I thought when I heard ‘Karako’ before we even knew his Caste Name was Pierot- But Aysha confirmed that Karako comes from Karakoze, arabic for clown (Although it may be a dialect? It seems like Karakoze means more literally ‘someone in colorful/rainbow clothes’, so not quite sure). Either way, it’s likely a coincidence in that case.

It might be a coincidence, but text of that song can be connected to the route without long stretches

Hmm I’ll have to check about it!
