Not quite sure about EITHER Sylph or Prince. She’s definitely acting Sylph-like, but that’s just because. You know. She’s a Jade. Jades are influenced to act like Sylphs. As for the Prince, if anything she has more in common with a Knight- She like… Active Destruction? Destruction for her benefit? I don’t see any of that in her.
That’s a good question! It’s actually arguable that they may be influenced to an extent by both Pre and Post Scratch Trolls’ Classes, but I wouldn’t be able to confirm the pre-scratch thing. That being said, the Class Stereotypes are intrinsically bound to the Classes as well, like how the WP team how all Ceruleans are influenced by the Pirate stereotype, it pushes them to behave like an Outlaw, fitting under the Thief Class, or the highly dangerous Highblood Cult that makes Purples heavily prone to Destruction. All Olives we’ve seen so far, too, have Outlaw motifs, like Nepeta, fitting as a Rogue. The Rustbloods’ forceful Servitude falls under the whole Maidenhood motif in a bit of an oblique way. It’s noticeable, but a little bit less direct than the Aspect influence.
I can’t quite see Bronya as an Active Class in general tbh. The president motif ties to Breath and Leadership more than to being a ruler.
It would seem that the Soul Merger that is Lord English did, indeed, separate into the more Omniscient and intelligent Scratch, and the more Caliborn-esque Lord English. In a way, maybe English sees Scratch as everything Calliope embodied- Smarter than him, using her weapons, Space-bound because of First Guardian powers… So he delights in coming to life time and time again by shattering through him.
I mean, they could be, but that’s a very reductive basis to decide the entirety of their Classpect.

I already mentioned this in my main blog but I guess I may add my take on the analysis blog too.
Okay first of all- Is anyone actually surprised there was something there? Like. Freudian slips and fighting against Freudian stuff is a big part of both Rose and Dave’s character. And that’s it really, it was a dumb move as teenagers in a doomed reality they were hopeless in. It’s an unhealthy situation, and something they are showcased to strive to overcome as time goes on.
In fact, Caliborn’s gross attraction for Calliope and attempt to make Rose and Dave kiss sets this kinda thing as not just something the comic doesn’t condone, but showcases as explicitly toxic. Were they attracted? Yep. Was that good for either of them? Not really. But the important thing is that they grow, and can just look back at it as this thing to avoid, and at worst, an embarrassing anecdote, rather than an unspeakable horror that cannot be spoken of ever again.
The biggest issue I’ve seen people bring up is the whole Bi Rose vs Lesbian Rose debacle? Which I am honestly 100% indifferent about. I let people be when it comes to stuff like ships or headcanons, but also- An implied, possible romantic bond, when left alone in an unwinnable Session with two of their best friends dead and a bunch of alcohol in the way could easily go for both “Rose is Bi and tried to cope by any means available” and “Rose is a Lesbian and this was a very dumb move made in a very awful situation”.
In other Act 4-related news, you seen the book diss on Grandpa Harley? Wow. And we thought Bro was the worst Guardian. I am unbelievably excited to see more of the commentary, and I wish I could get all 3 books. (Damn you, shipping. Like, actually ‘sending stuff overseas’ shipping, not romantic ships)
Act 4 Commentary Book broke street date and people got their hands on it early! So there’s a lot of old information that got brought up again, and a lot of new information that we haven’t seen yet because it’s an entire book and I’ve seen like, 4 commentary quotes so far.
I mean doesn’t Dave struggle with his Alt Selves too? Like, not the normal selves that are just part of the continuity of his Time Travel, but the Dead Daves. The accidentally going off-the-rails and ending up dying Daves, those really fuck him up.
Roxy though, Roxy would be totally chill with Alt Selves.

Yeah, Incest in general is looked down upon by the story by proxy of Caliborn liking it- And I’d go as far as to argue the whole lack of Taboo on Alternia comes from the fact Alternia is pretty much Lord English’ Playground.
The fact the story doesn’t shy away from actually talking about incest doesn’t mean it’s pushing for it or condoning it.
That could be a general Prince-y thing, yeah, although it may also fit other Classpects well.
He did it as a mockery of it too, given he didn’t see the issue but was like “YOU IDIOTS, IF YOU HAVE THE CULTURAL TABOO THEN WITH A GROUP OF FOUR THERE’S LITERALLY ONLY A SINGLE WAY THINGS COULD WORK!”
Then everyone disregarded that and just had Lab Babies galore.
Oof… Both have a bit of it, I would have to lean towards Rage/Hope, but at the same time, not quite? Hell you could even make an argument for it to be a Derse/Prospit kind of thing. I don’t think you can peg Optimism/Pessimism to be 100% exclusively one Aspect Pair or Moon though.
Yeah that’s a bit of a broad thing, it depends heavily on the overall context of said anxiety.
There’s way too many of them out there and way too consistent for it to be fake, really, also they’re not getting leaked- Shops get stuff in stock before the release date so they can have everything ready, but literally everything that gets put on a physical store gets released early in some places, it happens with books, it happens with games- Hell you can bet Smash Bros Ultimate is gonna end up being played a few days before its official release date because they’re getting sold already at this one GameStop somewhere if you ask them for it.
As a note- “This is too non-specific to be Classpected” doesn’t mean “Send me a long message about personal stuff so I can assess you better”! I occasionally give some thoughts on some things that do seem to lean one way or another or help some people who give a few traits or can’t decide between two Classpects… But when it’s really delving into someone’s psyche, I feel really creepy like. Inversion is a messy thing because it’s kind of not a thing that happens as much as it was believed in the past? It seems more likely there’s influences of Classes and Aspects that shape/control someone that aren’t NECESSARILY Inverses of the Class/Aspect. Just. Class/Aspect outside influence in general.
Thieves and Rogues are what you’re looking for, the Vore Classes.
That sounds like a focus on the setting, so I’d say Space, but it’s not exclusive.

Well I would imagine it’s just sheer shock. Consider, this is the guy that refused the beckoning call of the Mirthful Messiahs by being High for most of his life, until he ran out of the stuff, and everything snapped into place- The violent cult he’s a part of, his Ancestral Legacy, Lil Cal’s commands, Doc Scratch talking to him. Suddenly he went from a joke character to an emissary of his Divinity, of which he himself is part of. The Angel of Double Death, a Demon that devours Reality Itself, to have the honor to destroy in His name and raise him and help him until the day he may become what he’s fated to be… And then you also witness the miracle of a valuable magical item He is fond of being used, to behold what may amount to a true Miracle for someone of his kin!

And said miracle involves an extreme amount of sugary bullshittery, awkward flirting and baby-making talk, marriage proposals and smooches galore.
It’s not like he’s… Against it or disapproves of it. It just feels like he’s like. “Oh God, we have to watch them make out in turns and do a jig on top of a pile of rainbow weapons…?” It feels like a meaningless twist of what’s going on, paired with imagery that may remind him of his own High state from years ago, and kind of a polar opposite of what his Church seems to stand for! From gritty, bloody and grimdark to… Happy-go-lucky, smiling, sugary rush.
It’s also hilarious to see the one time Gamzee, a character who revolves heavily around how bullshit everything he does is, actually at a loss for words for what he’s seeing in front of him.
The Beta Guardians are basically the Alpha’s flaws increased ten-fold, reaching adutlhood without the friendship and balance they have kind of found with each other’s friendship.
Dirk just goes unchecked and doesn’t have Dave’s positive influence, leading him to being Machiavellian and excessive more like AR than Dirk. Roxy never quits drinking and overcompensates by trying to over-coddle Rose, leaving her sending mixed signals to her daughter and never actually bonding meaningfully. Jake sinks so low he stops trying to face reality and just makes adventure his life, even when he actually seems to settle with a family, he ends up unable to bear that life and simply goes back to adventuring and isolation as a bad coping mechanism. And Jane has to deal with Condy all alone for much much longer, and eventually she disappears before she can get any sort of meaningful resolution with her. We don’t quite see if she’d have any more specific Jane-related flaw though, given, you know, she’s dead when the story starts and then comes back as a clown.
Without guidance, John just sort of does his own thing.
She literally branded her devices and named herself after a Time-Devouring Demon to intimidate a Tyrannical Empress trying to take over the world, and was assassinated because of these ideals she stood for, you take that back.
Here’s my hot take. The Epilogue drops, the people who were still alive in the Bubbles return, maybe some Ghosts are brought back to life somehow, and suddenly John’s in a poly relationship with Davepeta and Terezi (Blackways) and everyone lives happily ever after.
It’s not like she abandoned Jake. She was murdered. The blame befalls on Condy, not on Grandma.
Oh absolutely. Having been raised by Condy, losing contact with Jade, going into comedy? You know how John is. He bottles up feelings, isolates himself, doesn’t exactly deal well with stuff.
He also steals like. Stuff from Delivery Drones.
I think it’s part of the reason, but commentary of the new book seems to imply that Grandpa in general is just bad at existing and is constantly Doing That TM.
Although for completely different reasons, but yeah.
The only Beforus Ancestor we know of is Feferi and, let me tell you, she’s not exactly the most functional Empress. Beforus is much nicer than Alternia, but with the excessive coddling nature of her meaning for ‘Culling’ she forces Highbloods to be caretakers, and takes away the agency from the Lowbloods that don’t want to be coddled, so she’s not exactly a successful Empress…
Hmmm. That’s a good question, I don’t think it’s just a facade. He IS extremely socially awkward, so that has to do, but also it may have to do with weakness- Not looking weak, but actually being weak. Dirk wants to be a rock for his friends, someone they can rely on- Remember his ‘I failed’? He’s torn about not having been able to help any of his friends, to have been completely useless. I feel more than him not wanting to look weak it’s him… Recognizing his weakness in the first place. I’m no psycho-analyst though.

Also if you ask why it’s a ship of mine, NepJohn has always been a crack ship of mine (Only accented when John commented she was cute), and I felt like a mix of that one cute cat Troll and Dave would be right up John’s alley.

That IS true, when it comes to their personal achievements they did a lot of good stuff but all of what they did with their children was by Proxy, I wonder how Rose and Dave would’ve been actually physically raising them…
