Not Hivesucc. It's Remele, so Hivesuque

You. I like you.

How come Endless Climbing is one of Rose's theme when it appears more in Dave's themes such as Clockwork Melody, Clockwork Contrivance and Clockwork Sorrow?

Looking at the credits, you can blame Clark “Plazmataz” Powell for that! Seems like it’s not necessarily either of their themes? Like. It was used for Rose, but the song may not have been made for that purpose, and then it was adapted by Clark for the ‘Clockwork’ songs which may have led to it sticking as a Dave theme. It doesn’t necessarily sound Dave-ish though. Maybe we can say it’s more of a Derse Kids Theme?

Do you know any resources for learning more about the music stuff? Like what the common melodies are and who made them and stuff

I wish, Music is magic and the finer details elude my grasp.

Imagine: Your ocs replace all of the homestuck characters roles in lord englishs timeloop, With what ever classpects fit the roles the best. BUT, what they say and relationships are free to go wild

Congrats, you doomed us all.

Do you know where we can find who works on hiveswap and the friendsims? Like who did the art and all that?

Yeah? The credits? They’re there for a reason.

Oops sorry, I didn't mean music in general, just the homestuck music!

Oh! Huh, leimotif lists and stuff. Well, in the bandcamp page for each song it lists the composer, and usually a reference or two to the songs referenced through Leimotifs, so that may be a start. I’m sure on the Wiki there may be something too.

i can't buy the friendsims, but is there any place where the credits are collected?

Oooh that is fair. I know there’s decompilations of the code around and not quite sure if there’s a page about the credits/WP staff on the Wiki but it could be worth a shot. Nowhere I personally know though.

It is said that the Cherub's session is only winnable by a Lord of Time, then I was thinking, couldn't Calliope just teleport herself on each planet to stop the detonations? Her aspect is Space after all.

Bold of you to assume Callie could teleport or Caliborn could time travel that early into their Quests. It’s highly likely more Caliborn’s overall thing where the Timeline just falls in his favor- 3 Planets down from the start for example- As well as his own ultra-determined forward momentum and the minions he gathered from each Planet having Timey Shenanigans.

The flashing picture on Boonbucks reminds me a lot of Caliborn's sprite collapsing into a black hole. Are Boondollars actually CalCoins?

… You know I never sat down to check Boondollars and examine if there was actually something to their design, huh. No idea actually.

what does it mean if two aspects are next to each other on the canon aspect wheel?

There’s… Theories, but nothing conclusive yet.

We know Karkat’s bloodline is extremely cullabl cause he’s a mutant + a lime blood, but what do you think would happen if a troll of a higher blood was mutated, or even a fuschia?

Likely either mutations have nothing to do with the original caste color and it just can be anything, or each caste has a different ‘mutated’ color and there’s a whole Shadow Hemospectrum hiding from us.

A theory I came up with at work today: at the end of hiveswap/the friendsims, the burgeoning revolutionary force will be destroyed, having failed to fix alternia's violent, abusive system. however they will achieve short-term victory in the form of trizza's death, allowing for feferi to spawn from the mothergrub without competition

The thing is that, Trizza being there barely really affects anything any way? If she were a huge problem to a new Heiress appearing, the Handmaid herself would just go kill her, not all of this extremely roundabout, multi-Universal plot. No, Scratch is influencing both the Revolution and the Empire at the same time, like pawns, he’s leading this conflict for some reason we haven’t quite gotten yet.

Re: blood mutation, I know there's at least one user who speculated that mutations like Karkat's are a brighter inversion of the root color, and made a whole chart for it. I can send the original post/user's blog name if anyone would be interested in it, as the chart they made shows the progression would fit Karkat's color perfectly (they also have other mutation designs that look AMAZING imo)

Ultimately though, mutations are just a fun gimmick to allow for differently-colored bloods for Fantrolls and the like, I feel like trying to set down a specific, canon color for each mutation would be kinda limiting!

I see people saying they are running a sburb session and I'm just wondering what they mean? and how they do it

Roleplay.

i feel like quadrants are just some bullshit scratch inserted into troll society to increase tension between citizens. (im not saying stuff like black romance and such *dont* exist, just saying that its probably more ~fluid~ than the rigid grid structure we were presented)

I mean, the relationship meant to be the most like Human Love and the one about talking shit out and helping each other be better people are two different, exclusive Quadrants. I’d like to see how Quadrants worked on Beforus really.

I feel like what people don't like about Quadrants is on Alternia how you were forced to have romantic partners to stay alive, & one of those relationships is basically about disliking someone which the kids almost never handle healthily. & that you're only supposed to have 1 special person to talk shit out with. When you take the Quadrants out of that context they're good nuanced relationship descriptors, but for Beforus the only clear difference is that nobodies forcing anybody verses Death

Is that the only difference though? What I was arguing is if there may be something more in Beforan Society, like. Maybe they’re seen as less ‘fated’ and Polyquadrants are a lot more common, for example?

((I like the idea that quadrants are still a thing on beforus, but theyre less like a strict set of rules and more of a loose gudeline that you can follow or not))

If Sburb is a game. How do you think it would handle things like pausing and saving? Would those features be exclusive only to time players?

Likely only to Time Players, although Pausing is really just someone ZA WARUDOing the Session. It uses Game mechanics and parodies Game stuff, but do remember it’s not just SBURB, the entirety of the Homestuck-verse sorta acts under Game Logic a lot of the time.

The artists aren't credited in the Friendsim credits actually, that's weird since I thought you would be more aware than that.

What are you talking about?

Was it ever mentioned that any of the kids went to school before sburb? more specifically John or Rose. I assume the rest didn’t.

They were all likely Homeschooled. Maybe a necessity, given they came from Meteors? For all we know they don’t even have birth certificates of any kind and aren’t even registered as existing in any database.

If homestuck had a TV show (an anime, let's be real here) would you think it would just show the homestuck we know or be a parody of television like how homestuck was of videogames?

Definitely a mixture of the two. I’ve always wanted an anime/webseries of Homestuck, if only because I find it would be amazing if they added a fake Ad section with live action where Hussie himself and like, Dante Basco and whoever else in WhatPumpkin or Viz would want to do little dumb sketches promoting fake movies and products.

A fake sweet bro and hella bro trailer

Except 2 months later the movie actually comes out.

the movie has a cardboard cutout of Ben Stiller and the actual Owen Wilson

Owen Wilson, however, acts the role of Ben Stiller.

But if a SBaHJ movie was released, a not insignificant portion of fans would personally see to it to destroy General Mills, Guy Fieri, and the ICP.

Ssssh, hey that’s the Alpha Earth Timeline! Ours is a tad different, we got a nice Guy Fieri and anti-fascist Juggalos. Not sure how companies under the General Mills brand are but… I’d imagine not much better than other similar food companies so that one can stay in the subtext.

The Rock makes one appearance, as god himself. Matthew McCoughnahey is played by Nic Cage and vice versa. All names are purposefully misspelled as shown above.

This is beautiful casting.

I was a bit confused about a thing whilst reading homestuck and was hoping you could help me understand!! when the scratch happened when the trolls/karkat was about to claim the ultimate reward, do they remember that happening? Or did basically all that get erased and the outcome was changed so that they were on the meteor, at that the outcome of them beating the game basically never happened?

The Scratch doesn’t affect the Troll Session in the slightest, they’re in another Universe entirely, a complete different continuity than that of the Kids. Bec Noir exiles himself to their Session, and they mistake this for the effects of the Scratch, but the Scratch itself NEVER does anything to the Trolls.

Just a quick question about the Reckoning. I know that the Black King can summon the meteors from the Veil with the Sceptre after all players have entered the game. But can he do this at any time? Why wouldn't he just do that as soon the last player enters?

The Black King needs the White King’s Sceptre. The War must be won first.

What exactly was Karako’s cullable offense? The only unusual thing about him is that he’s [ nearly ] mute but I doubt the drone could recognize that on sight...

He’s a small runt with oversized horns, it literally is nothing other than his body isn’t up to Alternian Standards. He was a sickly Grub and is underdeveloped because of it.

If Karako truly turns out to be a Lord of Mind, would it be safe to assume that stunted growth plays a role in a Lord's life? He seems to have that in common with Caliborn

Caliborn embodies the Yaldabaoth of Homestuck- A Deity unable to see the World of Ideas and who considers himself the true and absolute God. This in itself ties Lordship with the idea of stunted growth- However it’s not the only thing, as it also plays a big part in The Neverending Story, from which Homestuck draws a LOT regarding the Lord-Muse roles, and other Media have showcased Yaldabaoth-like figures by that same inability to grow beyond.

So it is not that it’s just a Lord-like trait, but rather, that the Lord’s ties with Gnostic deities, Godhood and the references it draws from feature Stunted Growth rather prominently. Whether ALL Lords do or it’s just a good reference to toss in, we’ll see if Karako’s ever confirmed/deconfirmed to be a Lord or Not in the future!

I want to get off LE’s wild carousel ride

What do you think Ardata’s lunar sway is?

Derse.

Despite not playing the friendsim, I think Karako might be a Page of Mind. I don’t have a lot of evidence besides that he can’t really speak his mind and he can’t until that “wakening moment” or however the Page works.

I do think if he’s not a Lord he’s a Page, same as how Boldir, if she’s not a Muse, she’s definitely a Seer.

How are karakos horns too big? Idk if it just wasnt portrayed in his sprite well but arent there trolls with equally sized or larger horns? Also how could he be seen as short and not like a kid? Sorry im just confused at all of this. Didnt it mention something about him having abnormally small legs or something?

Lanky in general it seems and, maybe for his age, that is, straight out of the Caverns, it really is a very strange circumstance. We’ve seen Trolls with immense horns, I mean look at Chahut, but she’s about to leave Alternia. Tavros has big horns too but… He’s 6 sweeps old. For all we know, Karako’s like. 6 years old.

I don't think Karako's a Page of Mind, because I think Vikare is and I don't think they're doing duplicates.

I don’t see that much Pagey-ness on Vikare! I don’t know what I’d peg him as but I feel maybe a Mage…? I haven’t delved into it- Again, do remember he’s a Bronze, so unless he’s got BLATANT, absolutely obvious Page stuff I’d be reluctant to call him one.

since no class is inherently designated for good/bad people, what do you imagine an evil Muse/good Lord would be like? I always pictured evil Muses as being more Machiavellian in how they set the stage / conduct the symphony, but I can't quite place my finger on things

Good Lords may be actually just rulers, taking control of the situation and pulling at the strings, commanding for their benefit, but with said benefit being shared by others as well? Imagine playing Black & White, the God Game, and you’re kind of doing all you can to prevent your cities from being taken and shutting down the enemy. Sure, you’re helping your cities, but you’re also getting worship energy from them, so protecting them is to your own benefit. Basically just. If a Lord isn’t an asshole looking down on those beneath them.

Muses are an interesting Class to make bad, because they’re classically associated with Martyrhood and very passive intervention. But it’s because of that that they could make some amazing villains. ‘For the greater good’, even when the Greater Good is completely impersonal and horrible for everyone else. I don’t quite know enough about WoW lore to peg him as a Muse, and even then I don’t quite think he is, but Sargeras is trying to corrupt with Fel and destroy all the World Souls so the Lovecraftian Horrors beyond the Universe can’t get to them- He’s, in essence, corrupting and destroying the Universe, but his motivations fall under the passive spectrum rather than the active. Likewise, evil Muses would have goals, objectives, that while sensical and just to them are reduced to fucking everything up, forever. “I can’t see you suffer” kind of types that kill without a moment of hesitation.

If a person were to change behavioural characteristics and thus personality due to circumstances, would the person change their classpect? Or does the classpect take into account how the person has changed?

Classpects take into account your true nature- That with which you feel happy, comfortable and identified with, that comes absolutely naturally and with no effort. If there’s some traits or characteristics changed due to circumstances, it’s often because said circumstances are pushing you into a bad spot (And as such further away from your Classpect), or are getting better (In which case they only push you more towards your Classpect).

Wait, the last ask confuses me - Are you saying there is only one true nature? As in, if you change, your true nature stays the same?

There are various deviations to your Nature and a lot of wiggle room given how Classpects aren’t too specific in themselves, as well as influence others can have on your own which you can come to emulate to an extent- But yeah, on a very loose sense, everyone has a set Nature.

It’s not as binding as it sounds and it doesn’t mean people can’t change! I mean, look at Vriska and (Vriska), for example, or at Calliope and Alt! Calliope, their personalities diverge a lot and they have different goals in mind and ways to reach them, but at their core they’re still recognizable the same characters. Different circumstances twist and affect you in different ways, but all of these are accounted for in your Ultimate Self, and as such, encompassed by your Classpect.

Aranea tells us! A reality in which, at any point, you could do a 180 and do something completely different would be just as bad as one in which there’s only one set path you can walk on- After all, being able to take any route and make any choice, infinitely branching out, would set you as nothing more than a blank slate, your choices would be absolutely meaningless if you can be anything at any time. And of course being bound to ONLY be one way ever, forever, is extremely reductive and binding. That’s why the concept of the Ultimate Self is important. You are more than you yourself are- You are every choice you could’ve taken. But these choices don’t branch infinitely. They create a reduced microcosm shaped by causation, your environment, and what choices do matter in your life.

You can try to improve and become a good person if you’ve not been good before, but you can’t change a strong conviction. I feel people whose convictions or dreams shift hugely simply weren’t as convicted as they appeared to be in the first place, or were being influenced to chase after something they themselves didn’t really mesh with, but went along with either way.

A good example of this is Dirk, who struggles not only with himself, but with multiple sides of himself he’s haunted by near constantly. He looks up to Dave as an inspiration, and so Knighthood is a big part of him as a character, but within there’s still a Prince, and his conflict is precisely with the bad side of being a Prince. He’s haunted by what he doesn’t want to become, but knows he could become, and that’s exactly what this Classpect Wiggle Room is. You may be completely satisfied with yourself, but you can also have to fight against the bad part of your nature. Everyone has flaws, but these flaws are part of yourself, and to overcome them shows progression, growth. The knowledge that you could’ve gone down a bad route, but didn’t, both possibilities- The Good you, and the Bad you, both are encompassed within your Classpect, and it’s this progression into becoming a better person that one must strive for.

I was more depicting a healthy relationship with your Classpect in the last one, which may have led to the sorta confusion of how I worded things. When YOU look for a Classpect, you should look for what feels best, because I don’t think anyone looks about stuff regarding Classpects at their worst? The full Classpecting thing is a lot more nuanced with the good and bad parts, but yeah. If you’re looking for Classpects, you’re most often going to find it from the base nature of someone who’s genuinely happy.

So like, if there was a swap where like, Jade and Rose switched places (I.e., Jade Lalonde and Rose Harley), they'd still be a Witch of Space and a Seer of Light, because their true nature is the same?

If you had just a location swap, like, the exact same sequence of events up to their births, but Grandpa takes Rose from the New York lake and Mom takes Jade from the Crocker Factory, even though they’d grow up as Rose Harley and Jade Lalonde, they would absolutely still be the Seer of Light and Witch of Space respectively.

If you want to swap them Classpect/Symbology/Color-wise though, it depends on how you wanna do it.

I wonder how different jade and john would be if they switched their places, because then its like. John dealing with grandpas stuff, and jade getting the caring father

Let’s be fair, John would sort of gloss over the issue of Dead Grandpa for most if not the entirety of the story, he bottles up big time.

Does Andrew Hussie have jaundice?

Just in-comic.

wakraya:

I can’t believe the Epilogue is going to be Live Action and Hussie is Dirk Strider himself.

would wanting to change the world- maybe through various morally dubious ways- to align with what you think is right and how it should exist be more mageish or witchy?

Depends on how you strive to achieve this goal, you could go either way if you’re just based on that one sentence.

oh sweet thank you for responding so quickly! would it be possible to give an example of a mage and witch way of getting to their goals?

Aside from Arcs and Archetypes and Familiar stuff which can differentiate them apart, Witches tend to be quite practical- They have efficient ideals set in mind about how to do stuff, and will push to do things their way however they can. Mages may be ones to push and insist more in their ideals, if given the chance they will act upon them but pushing the why of their point of view and trying to make others see the way they do to bring change at a greater scale would be more of a primary goal.

For example, in trying to make a friend try out a new meal they like, a Witch may outright prepare the meal for them and expect them to eat it, whereas the Mage will explain how good the plate is and push them to convince them to try it.

If a troll was knight of rage would they become the ultimate "troll"?

I feel most Trolls nowadays are Hope, not Rage.

Charun has to be a Bard of Rage, right?

Not necessarily, could easily be a Maid with their creation of confusing artpieces and those infuriatingly long lazy pauses in their speech.

why does charun have a lil cal. WHY DOES CHARUN HAVE A LITTLE CAL

HONESTLY WHO KNOWS? It may be a dumb, non-canon Cameo, but Poinko is trolling us and doesn’t even acknowledge him, meaning it may be plot-relevant. It can NOT be the Lil Cal that comes to Alternia via Aradiabot Meteor, since that Cal is broken and burnt up, and Kanaya repairs it into a Felt Outfit, so the chances of it being that same Cal sent back in time are dubious. It could be a fake copy? An effigy of the Purple Cult, made because they know the rough shape of the vessel of their God. It could be something else we don’t even know yet- Given Charun’s Sign Name is The Paradox.

But here is my CRAZY CRACK THEORY:

MSPA Reader is young Andrew Hussie, and that is the very same Lil Cal he has in his little horsey pocket dimension apartment beyond the 4th Wall.

just a quick question, when we're taking your class quiz should we answer the questions how we would react to them or how we want to react to them?

Up to you really! Whatever makes you happy.

Do you have any thoughts about Wanshi’s class? Her route kinda made me think about a Page

Heavily leaning towards a Mage.

I just finished Wanshi’s route and she’s so good I almost cried

Join the line buddy, I still cry when I check people playing the route on YT.

Limebloods, Olivebloods and Jadebloods would really have a hard time for the film industry or news broadcaster because of their green-coloured colour schemes

Well Trolls are hyper-advanced, maybe instead of Greenscreens they have like, full-room holograms.
