I'd love to hear your views on the abilities of the Mage/Seer of Mind, please. Are there abilities that 1 has available that the other doesn't? Can a Mage see the consequences, see alternate memories, and connect alternate consciences in the same way Terezi can? Is there anything that Mage can do that Terezi can't? Which 1 is the wiser of the 2? Is wisdom even a factor in which of the 2 you are? Who would have the most control over fate, or the direction of causality? Love your work; keep it up.
I’ve actually talked about the Mage of Mind before, and the Seer would definitely be similar, not to say the amount of information we have on the Seer of Mind thanks to Terezi. Seeing outcomes, recalling her choices, she displays some really interesting abilities even without ascending! As for what they can do, though? The answer is that there’s no difference in the potential of abilities between Active and Passive Classes if we’re thinking about raw powers. It heavily depends on the mindset of the characters and the situations, but Active or Passive, they share a Verb, and such the range of what they MAY be able to do is the same. Passive Classes will however LEAN towards more less exploitative uses of their powers, and Active Classes towards more direct uses. As such, a Mage will have more direct control over causality by default, but a Seer in the right situation may do the same, or convince others to lead causality where they want it to more than the Mage would by themselves. Zones of comfort, what they’re using their powers for and their states of mind influence heavily on how things work.
