Isnt it curious that both times we see a draining friendship(or however you call it) its one of a hope player and a life player?? Like eridan and feferi and jake and jane??

This is actually not true- It was draining, yeah but for two different reasons. First I should point out Feferi and Eridan weren’t just ‘friends’, they were Moirails, and that’s very different from normal friendship, specially with someone with genocide tendencies like Eridan. But second of all, the situation is quite different- Eridan was draining to deal with and he wanted even more from Feferi so she ollied outie. Jane and Jake were good friends, though, but she sorta fancied him, except- Dating him would make things awkward with Dirk, and being the Page he is, Jake served himself Hope and believed Jane’s awkward lies, and turned the tables on her. Jane isn’t in a draining friendship with Jake because being friends with Jake is draining- She’s in a draining friendship because she’s bottling up her frustration about him dating Dirk, but cannot bring herself to just tell him that because Teen Drama. And while Feferi and Eridan cut ties, Jane and Jake’s endgame is about her stopping her crush on him and becoming more assertive with her wants instead of giving up what she wants for others.
