I've seen some theories that Hope means desire and love (Platonic or not). This came from the fact Eridan and Cronus are desperate for love or a relationship and the fact all of Jake's friends wanted to date him. Which begs a question, would a Maid and Heir be the center of all attention?

A Maid may be, but a Heir not necessarily, if anything the Heir of Hope may be quite flexible when it comes to relationship stuff since they Change and are Changed easily.
