Speaking on Doom and it's more practical powers, I've always associated less with fire and more with ash. Fire is very explosive and dynamic but the ash following it is stagnant and degrading. It's also tied a bit to time in the sense that its inevitability. My prince of doom's power is basically just turning objects into ash until they blow away

I mean that’s a cool connection! Honestly I only associate Doom with Fire because of Sollux’s Land and the concept of ‘burning out’.
