Eridan is undeniably a worst kind of bastard (after his ancestor). But he still has some hilarious aspects to hum tho. The closest thing he has hor friends? Most of them are land dweller. In fact, he barely spends time with other aquatic trolls. Or in water. Kanaya is another can of worms - for the longest time she was the only troll to whom he actually listened (we don't count Karkat for reasons). Him betraying her (was planned befor murder of fef) thus becomes even worse.

As I said, I do quite love Eridan’s character, which doesn’t mean he’s not awful. Kanaya being the Mom Friend to Eridan and making him a Wand to shut him up, then using that moment as a little snarky jab at Rose saying she’s been ‘training a powerful wizard to take her down’ is all kinds of hilarious.
