Do you think The Handmaid was brainwashed when she began serving Lord English, or did she just serve him reluctantly, knowing that he would lift her curse/kill her if she disobeys him?

She was conditioned to serve him from the time she was born, which is already fucked up enough, but if it’s anything like Condy, she has her own free will, and hates him, but there’s little you can do when an Unkillable Demon has a hold of your entire god damn life.

It’s sleazy, creepy, and has some pretty fucked up connotations honestly.
