How do you think troll horns work? There’s like, two different kinds on our world, where they are 1. Shed each season and grow back and 2. They are fused to the skull and have blood vessels flowing through them, growing a feltish layer that has to be scrapped off. Do you think they may be one or the other, or a mix of two?

Horns don’t seem to regrow or simply fall off, and by all the pictures of people being Skeletonized in Homestuck, they seem to be attached to the skull.

However, the pic of Damara being electrocuted tells us that, while they do seem to have a point of attachment to the skull, they’re made of something different than Troll Bones. That being said, we also don’t know what Troll bones are made of, so who knows.
