was it ever explained why pumpkins are void? (other than of course "what pumpkin?")

Literally just for the What Pumpkin joke, there’s no reason why Pumpkin Symbology should be Void-related. Just like how a lot of Hope comes from the “If you believe in X, it becomes just a little bit less fake” joke.
