How does mutation work in trolls? Are trolls able to inherit abilities from other blood colors but be another blood color entirely? (the Condesence doesn't count for this!)

So far Troll powers seem bound to their caste. Mutation is just a shift from a color to another- Karkat’s Lime to Candy Red, with no other effects as far as we can tell.
