Considering that Karkat's session is post-scratch, it makes sense that the alpha trolls are their genetic offspring (I think Aranea outright says that her genes are primarily from Vriska and Terezi, so).

I don’t think there’s any rule that necessarily says Pre or Post Scratch must be the clones/offspring.
