This is a fandom thing rather than a canon thing but someone here might know. There seems to be a running gag in multiple fics I've seen that (cisgender) Dave's middle name is Elizabeth. Does anyone know who started that, and if it was intentionally a The Producers shoutout?

I have no idea but I’ve seen David Elizabeth Strider around too, I am not familiar with The Producers, but I always thought it was a way to elongate his name and make it sound more silly in general. “David Elizabeth Strider” sounds like something straight out of old timey posh nobility.
