i can’t believe february is already over !! it felt so slow yet long at the same time. but it’s march !! and today (mar 1) is my fave ronald weasley’s birthday !! i hope you enjoy this list as much as ron enjoys the hogwarts welcoming feasts !!
i also tried to take note of and give more love to artists this month so sorry (but not really) for the longer post. once again, the list is in read order (i decided to split the fics and art but i’m not sure how i feel about that … i might go back to putting everything in one long chronological list next month)

Harry Potter had spent the last three years terrified for Draco Malfoy.
Everyone knew what it meant when Malfoy didn’t return to Hogwarts for his fifth year. Harry had done a spectacular job at denying it at first, of course. Tried convincing himself that it was just because Voldemort was back. That the Malfoys probably just ran off with their Dark Lord, or, what he had hoped most, had run away from him. It wasn’t until Hermione gave him that look that said that if he didn’t pull his head out of his arse soon, he was going to be absolutely hit upside the head, that he had to accept it.
Malfoy hadn’t returned to school because Draco Malfoy had presented Omega.
Harry and Ginny have built an easy, happy life for themselves after the war. They run a thriving plant shop together, they have a great relationship, and they’re definitely not gay.
But when they slowly begin realize that isn’t the case, Harry realizes that navigating his newly-discovered sexuality isn’t easy - and he needs to get experience.
There were many things that Harry had anticipated when arriving back at Hogwarts for his eighth year. Having his body switched with Draco Malfoy’s was not one of them.
Harry’s not sure what makes him harder; listening to Draco talk about astronomy, or shagging Draco so thoroughly that he can’t talk at all. Both, probably.

“Right,” Draco said, rolling his eyes. “I’m supposed to believe that the Gryffindor war hero caught the former Death Eater singing Muggle pop like a lunatic in his dormitory and didn’t immediately share the news with his pack of admirers?”
Harry couldn’t help it, he snorted a little. “As if they would ever believe me, Draco.” Draco drew himself up, ready to launch into some other tirade, so Harry held up a hand; “What would I even say? I saw Draco Malfoy being joyful and free. How is that a joke?”
so… we are three days into march and i’m just getting around to posting this. i’d like to make it very clear that i am still extremely valid regardless.
february went by super fast + i was super busy & chaotic, so i didn’t have time to read many fics, but i’d like to give a shout out to the ones i enjoyed!
i loved the concept of this fic from the very beginning - draco developing a dependency on felix felicis - and despite thinking i knew what was coming, i was thrown a lot of curveballs that i totally wasn’t expecting. i loved the way draco was characterized in this fic and the cast of side characters, and the gorgeous art by @deancebra and @fantalf adds so much as well.
i’m aware that this is already a very popular fic in fandom, but it absolutely kicked my legs out from under me and had some of the most realistic and complex relationship dynamics i’ve seen in a drarry. so basically if this one has been on your MFL for a while, consider this your sign to finally read it!! (and then come yell at me about it!! please!)
competitive, snarky, and fiery fake dating with what felt like a very lifelike portrayal of quidditch player drama. this was a really fun pick-me-up of a fic that also has some absolutely incredible art by @bluebutter-art.
i was so blindsided by how much this fic did with such a low wordcount. the relationship in this fic has such massive scope and feels so real that it manages to make the accidental opening of a door to hell seem like an afterthought.
the prose in this fic is so sparse and punchy, and reading it felt like i was peeling back layers of a mystery - the portrayals of draco and harry feel so lifelike, and something about this fic lingered in my mind for days after.
vampires, cursed mirrors, bloodplay, and pure unadulterated evil… what more could a small bird ask for? this fic had such fun horror elements - read the tags and have fun!
this fic captures the awkwardness of the early stages of dating so well that i was squirming at times while reading. i love fluff that doesn’t lose draco’s snark, and that paired with bonding over home remodeling shows and harry learning to play guitar like every third bloke in london had me SOLD.
i don’t read AUs much, but something about a drarry greaser au… just works? this fic is absolutely the perfect thing to bookmark to read for when you need a pick me up <3

you’ve given me the perfect excuse to deep dive into the world of canon (which can be so fun to examine if you ignore the she-demon who wrote the series) and sectumsempra / harry’s obsession w one draco malfoy.
this is LONG so TLDR: I think sectumsempra is one of the key points that would later catalyze a drarry romantic relationship. below is my thought process on all of that.
so, I know we all love to joke about how harry was obsessed with draco that year and how this was his repressed homoeroticism bubbling to the surface, however, contrary to my drarry tendencies I want to advocate for the opposite.
There are incredible amounts of talent in the drarry fandom, and while I have plenty of fic close to my heart outside of this list, I will never get tired of recommending—
