Its original art!  Its from a world building / oc project called Falls D’Ange, you can see a lot of that peppered through my whole tumblr.  Which reminds me, i’m gonna go tag a bunch of stuff with “FDA” and “Falls D’Ange” to make it easier to find. :)

Hi! I was wondering if you knew where to find like, a comprehensive guide of using patreon as a creator? I ask because I know there are resources out there, but I really would like a guide that -you- as a creator and user of the platform find accurate and helpful, if that meakes sense..?

Sadly, no, other than the patreon website itself, which has a pretty comprehensive FAQ last I checked.   I was fortunate enough to learn from first hand experience dished out by @redbeanviolin, who’s learned and honed these skills for years. I’ve seen guides and resources floating around but never really delved into them to find out their validity.  Whenever I’m stumped on how to change something with my patreon I go through my favourite patreon pages and learn from what is working for them. Everyone has a different approach but share a lot of common ground if you start to compare.

The practices and ideas i use on my patreon also come from personal experience as an artist on the internet and learning to market myself over the years.  

If you’re curious about the general mentality i use to approach patreon you might want to look into resources that dissect the idea of Free Marketing.  Be careful which books you pick up though, there are a lot of books out there that ascribe to the idea of ‘spam as marketing’, which isn’t really what i’m takling about.

this is probably an annoying question for artists, but i was wondering if you'd mine sharing what sort of brush you tend to use for digital sketching? I really love the look of your sketches!

Has the movie Prince of Egypt influenced your art in any way? It gives off a nice vibe the way that movie does.

Oh.. not … really??? I suppose a bit, i own the artbook and i love the artistic direction of the film.  It’s one of the most stunningly gorgeous 2D animated films ever made, so I’d be remiss if I wasn’t a little flattered at the comparison.

i've had your Librarian print hanging in the center on my wall for about 4 years now i believe--it has been my favorite piece of art ever since i got it, but lately you've been outdoing yourself over and over and i can see you've improved *so* much. you are a huge inspiration to me and my favorite artist for many years, i can't wait to see where you go. <3

Oh mannnnnnnn noooooooooo that’s so sweet! Thank you so much, that was definitely a definitive moment in my art life, that piece.  I should do another ‘kick your own ass’ of it soon.
