thinking about. domesticity on pandora. lying in bed with the doors and windows open during hot summer days. teaching friends and kids how to drive runners. gun swapping and collecting. houses built out of old mining ships and shipping containers, new rooms being added once babies are born.

just,,,all of the love and life that gets drowned out with the VHs being so focused on fighting.

This kind of thing is just sooo fun to think abt and I think it really helps to humanize the bandits… Here’s some of my own contributions !

- Taking turns going to sleep while watching over your buddies to make sure nothing bad happens during their time of rest, and having the same be done for you when you need it. Knowing you fan trust these people enough to be at your most vulnerable around them, and letting yourself relax knowing that they’ll keep you safe

- Communal !!! Eating !!!! Everyone eats !!! Sitting around the fire with a big pot of stew or a big roast of skag, getting to talk to everyone about how their days went and even getting to hear about how the food was made, getting to share after a supposedly long day at the Death and Murder planet without worry. At least for now.

- Helping fix each other’s armour or weapons. I imagine that this is something that needs to be upkept pretty often, given the amount of times you’re out fighting and stuff. Shields don’t do jack about Dirt !!!! You have to keep your things clean enough so they don’t jam on you while you’re in a particularly tough situation !

- Housing being built in old warehouses, abandoned mineshafts and other such operations, even in the wall of a mountain if you get enough people to help you carve it out— you can get a house set up anywhere with the right amount of dedication and slight bit of desperation, but it takes your group to make it a real home. I always find it so cute to see how bandits decorate their houses with their respective clan symbols and stuff, makes me think that making art for your new settlement is an important step in all this

- Collecting random pieces of scrap materials for reutilizing and putting together new things !! Armour, gun modifications, housing material, defensive protections, you name it, you can probably bend it into the right shape. I think bandit groups would have assigned people to handle this sort of thing so that materials never run too low, especially in the case of an emergency or something….

- Training together to make sure you always keep your skills sharp. In Pandora you’re either paying attention or you’re dead, so it’s important to make sure you never let that guard down… But you also have space between all that to train some new skills, keep yourself busy throughout the 96 hours it takes for the planet to finish rotating, learn some new things from your strange village elder, just don’t get bored
