You are fully in the right to take full payment ahead of working on a commission. That way you won’t have to worry about people not paying for your service after you done all the work.

i’m tempted to do it like, have people pay me after i’ve sent them the sketch to be approved? that way I’ll have most of the work done and can finish it within the same day lol
