I intend to start Seasons up again at some point, when I trust myself to be actually be reliable on finishing pages! That totally isn’t right now, at all. I’d need like, a chapter-long buffer in order to post if I started right now. tbh I’ve been feeling pretty down and out about my original stuff for a while, hence the upswing of fanart these days.

I mean, besides losing control of my life to werewolves.

But! Yes! The comic is still going to happen! I still work on the story/world stuff a whole lot. It’s just not going to happen right now, but hopefully soon.

A few reasons!

The biggest reason? I like how Stiles looks in red, what’s up.
Red is recurring in the wardrobe on the show! It isn’t exclusive to Scott in the first ep. It ends up being worn a lot by whoever is going to end up in danger, at least in s2 (I didn’t pay much attention to it in s1, so I don’t know if that was a recent costuming choice or what). I can only really think of three characters this holds true for and I may miss some (I’m only writing the times that come off the top of my head), but. Scott wore a red hoodie when he was attacked by Peter and he also wore a red shirt when Victoria tried to kill him. Stiles wore red plaid when he went with Derek to help Isaac, red track suit at the pool, red hoodie at the mechanics. Lydia hasn’t worn straight up red, but she wore a sort of red-pink leather jacket when Derek was trying to kill her, which imo still counts because of ~*reasons*~
That being that I’ve headcanon splitting most of the cast into Wolf/Red/Hunter tropes because I’m absolutely terrible like that. Red includes Lydia for me and it isn’t exclusive to Stiles, hence why I draw her in the previously mentioned outfit the most (I’ve tried putting her in red but it ends up clashing with her hair). I consider Scott still partly a Red, so I’m usually going to put some red on him somewhere when I draw him, but not nearly as prominently as Stiles and Lydia.

Also, just as an aside, who was bitten in the woods was 50/50. Peter said it himself that it could just as easily have been Stiles there instead (hell, it could have been both of them if the Sheriff’s department hadn’t shown up, wHICH I KIND OF WANT SOMEONE TO EXPLORE IN FIC AND HOW THEY’D TAKE TO THE BITE/HOW THEY MAY DIFFER IN HOW THEY RESPOND TO PETEr ~~and scott and/or derek saving stiles from the dark side of wolflihood~~ but that’s just me)
but i still just really like how stiles looks in red okay.

Oops, more Alan Wake fanart happened. I’m drawing more mythlore business, but these are fun to do to break up the endless stream of werewolves happening on here lately. Alan Wake is a rad game that not nearly enough people played, I think.

Poets of the Fall have a fake band in the game called Old Gods of Asgard, and they have songs exclusive to the game. Also the official video for their song, War, is an Alan Wake music video.

The Argents are a family of gods who primarily preside over various aspects of war and the forge. Allison is young (you know, by immortal standards), but she becomes relatively important in the pantheon quickly, once it’s discovered she’s a goddess of war and justice (amoung other things; she’s really an amalgamation of Athena and Artemis).

She wasn’t around when the Hales were still alive/free, so from the start she’s been told tales of horrible wolves that would eat both mortal and immortal alike, but Kate had swooped in and saved them all by getting rid of them! So from the start, Allison hasn’t been a fan of any of the remaining Hales at all and she thought Kate was a hero.

Scott knew of Allison before he and Stiles freed Derek, mostly from Stiles sneaking them into big gatherings of gods so they could spy on them and be ridiculous. He never approached her before, until after he gets dragged kicking and screaming into the mythological clusterfuck. And, well, you know how it goes. She loves him in spite of his furry problem, has conflicted loyalties between Scott and her family, etc, etc.

[warning for some very brief, non-graphic talk of cannibalism, because somehow it always crops up in my fictional pantheons and i don’t know how this always happens to me]

I’ll probably end up making a separate drawing for Peter to talk about him, since I started writing it here but it just got too dang long. You could just read the trope for Flying Dutchman and get an idea for his story, but tl;dr he semi-recently killed Laura and stole her pelt, and he starts eating gods to gain more power so he can eventually take on the Argents.

Not long after Scott and Stiles free Derek, they realize that maybe helping A Strange and Intimidating Man They Found In A Cave is probably not a good idea, and they decide to make a break for it. Unfortunately, they get separated and Scott ends up in the path of Peter.

Once Peter had found out about Derek being freed, he knew his time was limited. Luckily for him, the afterlife is a physical place that can be entered and presumably exited as well, though with difficulty. Peter vaguely knows of a way to create a path, which requires a physical connection to the living world. The Bite isn’t a thing that exists, but instead Peter attacks Scott and forces him to eat some of his flesh, because Peter is a completely sane individual like that.

Unfortunately for Peter the connection doesn’t take and he has to look for other candidates (give you two guesses on who those are), but like how godflesh gives power to whoever consumes it, so did Peters. After the attack, Scott found he was something more than a werewolf, but not quite the same as the Hales. Freaked out, Scott tried giving the piece of the pelt he’d had back to Derek, but no matter how many times Stiles tried sewing it into Derek’s pelt again, it wouldn’t take and would only work for Scott. Both Derek and Peter suspect that, one day in the near future, Scott would be just like them, including the strength to kill the gods.
