Our most popular Kickstarter rewards are $25 (all three ebooks) and $50 (all three physical books). A couple of backers asked if we could provide upgrades for the popular ebook reward levels, to include something tangible like postcards. Sadly, this wouldn’t be practical because it would involve our authors writing 300+ extra sets of postcards, plus mailing costs. However! We really wanted to add a bonus reward to celebrate hitting 75% of our funding goal, so here’s our new behind-the-scenes bonus commentary reward!
This digital pack will include:
“DVD commentary”-style notes from each of the three authors, giving extra background information on their novels, the writing process, and their experiences when going through the editing/publishing process for the first time.
early test sketches from the artists.
character sheets with extra detail and backstory info that didn’t make it into the books.
fandom meta-style letters or essays from the authors.
terrible selfies of everyone slaving over their manuscripts while lurking in an un-heated garret, as is traditional for all first-time authors.
behind-the-scenes diaries or messages from some of the editors/publishers at BBP.
This is all exclusive content that will only ever be available in the behind-the-scenes commentary pack. We thought something like this would be cool not just for backers in general (because you guys are special and are helping to launch the books into the wide wide world), but specifically to a fandom audience.
As fans, we often wish we could learn more about our favourite characters and stories, and this way the BBP authors can help with that. It’s already been really interesting to see the questions our authors have received during their Q&As on Tumblr. Nat hasn’t done a Q&A yet, but Erin’s questions so far have seemed more fannish (“What do you think the main fandom ships will be?”) while Kady’s were to do with the writing process (“How do you navigate writing strong/weak female characters?”). Each of the three authors will have different ideas on what they should include in their behind-the-scenes letters and essays, but it will all definitely be interesting to people who enjoyed the books. :)
The behind-the-scenes commentary pack will be available at $35 or $60+, as upgrades from the $25/$50 all-three-ebooks/physical books reward levels. Here’s what you get in the new upgrades:

Every pledge above $60 will automatically include the new digital pack. Anyone with a lower pledge level can just add another $10 (or whatever) onto their original pledge, and select this upgrade. And if there’s something you’d really like to see included that we haven’t mentioned here already, we’re open to suggestions! :)

If you haven’t heard of Big Bang Press before: we’re a Kickstarter-based project, publishing three amazing original novels by writers from the fanfiction community:
Savage Creatures by Natalie Wilkinson (febricant), is a dark, twisted urban fantasy story taking place in a version of Europe not too far from our own. Shapeshifter Francis Harding is forced to hire a decidedly disreputable investigator to help track down his missing sister. Described by the author as “a book about terrible people being terrible to each other,” Savage Creatures is a grippingly weird psychological thriller.
Juniper Lane by Kady Morrison (gyzym), is a lyrical and clever literary fiction romance about two young women navigating life in suburban hell. In the words of our Editor-in-Chief, Morgan Leigh Davies, “Basically, this book is Jonathan Franzen if Jonathan Franzen were a queer woman with a heart and a sense of humor that hadn’t been corroded by decades of profound misery and bitterness about the world.”
A Hero at the End of the World by Erin Claiborne (eleveninches), is a hilarious satire on “chosen one” narratives in Young Adult fantasy fiction. You know the drill: a teen boy is prophecied to defeat the Dark Lord and save the world. The only problem is: he doesn’t. After a lifetime of being told he’s the Chosen One, Ewan Mao chickens out at the last minute, and his best friend Oliver ends up killing the Dark Lord instead. Five years later, Oliver is a celebrity while Ewan works in a coffee shop and still lives with his parents. That is, until a magical cult tracks Ewan down and offers him an intriguing way to earn back his hero status.
All three novels are by talented fanfic authors who want to make the leap into original fiction publishing, without completely abandoning their fandom roots. The cover art will be drawn by three fanartists: hydrae (A Hero at the End of the World), quaedam (Juniper Lane) and longerrpigs (Savage Creatures), plus extra interior illustrations if we meet our current stretch goal of $45,000.

i’ve been wanting to read fic focusing on scott, allison and stiles lately but there isn’t much, if at all Q__Q so I opted to draw things to try and get it out of my system. impossible
scifi AU in which the trio are androids created and owned by a ~shadowy organization~ called Nemeton for likely dubious purposes, since for example Allison’s loaded up on like 5000 ways to incapacitate or kill a man with just her pinky.
Nemeton eventually gets disbanded, dissolved or collapses entirely in on itself, forcing the Powers That Be of the organization to dispose of what remains. Instead of deactivating the three, they sell them off to two rival factions, the Argents and Hales, and are intending to wipe their memories before they’re shipped off to their new homes. Obviously not happy with any of this, Scott, Allison and Stiles run off instead. \o/
WE PASSED OUR FIRST STRETCH GOAL! Reaching $45,000 means we can add extra illustrations to every single book. But we still have more than a day left before the Big Bang Press Kickstarter closes, so we decided to add a second stretch goal!
If we reach $50,000, we will upgrade all physical books to include signed bookplates/ex-libris labels. This is an exclusive Kickstarter reward that will never be available with any books sold in stores or on Amazon later on. The bookplates will be designed by the cover artists, and individually signed by each author. :)
