something ive been thinking about for a year (and could never act upon because i didn’t know how to draw charr back then) - charr with antlers, anyone? :U
i can totally see how antlers wouldn’t be the best choice for a charr to have, as they have a tendency to get stuck in EVERYTHING, but hey, they look cool & prestigious at least. and you can decorate them with all sorts of stuff - gold plating, paper tags & hanging beads… the skulls of your enemies?

i finally finished this omg.
Nera the Patient, my big vigil charr. ICly she has a thick mane :D (arenanet if u see this pls give the mane hairstyle to females thnx)
i started this december last year but i’ve never rendered armor before so i gave up for a while. i’m really not satisfied with the shading and stuff but it’s good for a first attempt. every completed drawing is a learning improvement, after all.
she is wearing - legion shoulders & boots, dreadnaught gauntlets & pants, vigil’s honor chestplate & she is carrying lightward’s battlestaff.

IT’S TYRIAN LINGUAPHILE TIME.
so i went back and did the HoT story for my backpiece and came across the old Rata Novus dragon lab. the written language on the monitors was unlike anything i’ve ever seen and i was originally gonna just upload screenshots because it looks cool but THEN I FOUND OUT THERE’S AN ACTUAL ANCIENT ASURAN ALPHABET AND IT’S BEAUTIFUL.
so i translated it. and damn it was annoying but kinda fun. most of the letters are overlapping and getting mixed up with each other. i think it’s really interesting how the asura have such a gorgeous fluid writing style, contrasting against their mathematical natures.
also the numbers (the X-looking things under the main texts) are all in New Krytan, which was accepted as an official language about 70 years before Rata Novus was abandoned. this might just be arenanet being too lazy to create a number system for the asurans, or i’m misinformed, but apparently these guys were content to write their numbers in New Krytan but were adamant about writing in their asuran script.
sorry for the shitty writing on the image, i didn’t have my tablet. the information is about the elder dragon primordus - heartrate, armor plating thickness, brain activity levels and main weapon specs.
