Well <3 Red was far less cruel to her as a child. They had a battle, when she was on her route through the Underground, and knew her soul almost from the very start. He was grateful for her sacrifice in staying with them, so incredibly grateful, and was her friend (and sometimes protector) through the years while she grew. She was the one to initiate romance between them, as he was far too nervous to attempt it.

As for how we came up with it… well, I loved Horrortale, and I love the Frans ship. I wanted to have both, but didn’t wanna step on any collective toes, so I borrowed some concepts from Horrortale and spun my own universe. Azul helped me come up with new concepts and designs, and Mercy-monster contributed a great deal with her art and storytelling~ it was a collaborative effort
