Hello there! Two questions, if I may. First, can you elaborate a little about Nero being an unsanctioned psyker? Did his physic awakening happen in Commorragh or perhaps even earlier? How does it affect him?

The second one is – what about his relationship with Tervantias? Nero seems to like him, judging by your relationship template, but how did it happen? Are his feelings mutual?

Nero just got lucky that no one dragged him into the Black Ship when he was a child. From his 6th birthday on, he grew up with smugglers and pirates. They didn’t care that a boy’s wounds healed a little faster. Nero himself didn’t know it was the psyker’s ability until he was imprisoned by the Inquisition, where the tortures became more and more unbearable and deadly every day.

Then the first awakening happened.

As a biomancer, he was weak and didn’t fully understand how his powers worked at the time. He learnt how to stop aging, how to regenerate and heal his wounds, what to heal and what to turn into a scar (like a scar left by Kibellah on his right hand or Marazhai’s branding on his neck). Unfortunately for him, the first awakening came after his brain had already been heavily damaged.

The second and full awakening took place in Commorrah, making Nero stronger as a biomancer.

He rarely uses the psyker’s abilities in combat, like bio-lighting, preferring cold steel and his agility. His powers were used more in bed with Marazhai. Nero uses Marazhai’s insatiable hunger for torture to train his body to enjoy pain and regenerate faster. He believes Marazhai makes him stronger as a biomancer.

A small thing I like a lot: his eyes glow purple in the dark due to psyker’s ability, the intensity of which depends on his emotional state.

Oh, Nero adores Tervantias. Tervantias saved his life. Tervantias is so beautiful, Tervantias’ body is perfect. Tervantias has many… drugs that Nero needs. Tervantias thinks Nero is an annoying little pet, a pet of Marazhai. Nero would like to be tortured by Tervantias for drugs, in time, he’d even enjoy the pain like with Marazhai. Tervantias is not very interested…

Did Nero always know he was related to a Rogue Trader, or was it a surprise to him?

How tall is he?

What would you say is the biggest departure you've made from the game's canon options in Nero's story or character?

He didn’t know he was von Valancius until Kunrad told him. When he was separated from his family as a child, Nero was only able to remember the surname of his mother, Stubbs.
Indeed, learning that he had been a noble all this time was a surprise to him. A pleasant surprise. He immediately began plotting the assassination of his aunt and cousins in order to become a new rogue trader and expand his influence as a crime lord, though cousin Kunrad was quicker with his own plans and things still turned out better for Nero.

Nero is 195 cm

My favourite, and the biggest departure from the game’s canon, is that Nero has phantom pain from the Shadow of Torment and can’t stop hearing voices in his head or see hallucinations. In general, he has more side effects from The Torment than the game can show me. Even under alcohol and heavy narcotics, he can still hear and feel everything to some extent, the voices become whispers and the phantom pain is no longer acute when he is sedated.

And when he asked Kibellah if she could teach him to follow The Tenets and stop feeling the pain like she does, it was not just a question out of curiosity, but a veiled plea for salvation from pain. And I loved it so much.
