Hear me out - now is the time for Warhammer 40k romance novels
Doing some research on Warhammer books and honestly? I totally agree with this. This would be such a smart way to get more people interested in Warhammer in general
Get a couple of popular romance writers and let them play in the universe. I would absolutely buy those books!
So as someone neck deep in the fanfic part of me wants this.
The other part wonders if GW is really ready to market its setting beyond the ages at which they do. We always joke about how they sanitise everything but most stuff is made through the lens of “could I sell this to a 10 year old” - at least that’s how it feels like now. I can’t imagine the GW shops with a rack of novels on top that the kids are not supposed to buy.
What I’d be scared of, if they attempted this, is a half-baked pie. Where they allow some romance but it ends up so PG-13 or even more subdued that it’s just… a nothing burger.
