Annotations for Easily

Lyric: [Outro]
Annotation:
The outro reaffirms the intense passion that the protagonist is feeling for this person, when he goes from “easily forgotten love”, how it should be a one-night sex, to “the best I’ve ever had”, sorrowing for the fact that he wants her so bad, but at the same time understands the complications of the situation. He fears she doesn’t ever remember him anymore and that, for her, in fact, that “love” was easily forgotten. But not for him.

Lyric: When you’re feeling beautiful
 Will you remember me?
Annotation:
The protagonist shows jealously for the person he had sex and fell in love without even knowing a single thing about their personal life. He sadly asks her (assuming it’s a woman) if she’ll remember him in the moments when she’s feeling beautiful (probably when she’s having sex with other people).

Lyric: [Verse 1]
Annotation:
“Easily” potencially talks about a one-night romantic odyssey lived by the protagonist filled with love, sex and related things. Probably someone he met in the same night they had this loving night together. This song takes a different approach on the “love” subject, making it one of the most precious gems on the band’s discography for the deeper fans.

Lyric: I wanna hypnotise you so
 You will remember me
Annotation:
It might be concluded that he ran out of ways to fix things between him and his lover, and therefore is taking extreme measures in order to remind his lover of him: to get her back.

Lyric: Let your inhibitions go
 Make every touch electrical
Annotation:
The speaker is asking this person to let go of all the things that hold them back from being together – fear, anger, negative thoughts, etc. – and to share with them a very powerful, “electrical” love.

Lyric: I want to touch you deep inside
And find the secrets that you hide
Annotation:
Take from this line what you will – anything sexual or figurative – but it can be agreed that the speaker desires a very close relationship with the other person.

Lyric: When you fears are cast aside
 Will you remember me?
Annotation:
The speaker asks their love to be with them once their “fears are cast aside” and they are ready. This may take a long time, which is why the speaker asks, “Will you remember me?”

Lyric: I just want to let you know
My mind refuses to let you go
Annotation:
Again, the love that the speaker has is very haunting. The speaker is waiting for their love, and it is driving them mad. This love is becoming an obsession.

Lyric: Easily forgotten love
 Easily forgotten love
 It’s not so easily
Annotation:
Love is not easily forgotten, as the speaker tells us, and they will not forget the love that they have for this other person. Even if it takes a lifetime, the speaker will wait for their love to let go of the things that hold them back. This line can be thought of as romantic, but it is speaks of a love that haunts someone all of their life. This sort of love can bring about much pain.
