Annotations for Futurism

Lyric: Ignorance pulls
 Apostasy and apathy still rules
Annotation:
This song is about a dead end situation in a relationship between people. When they are both ignorant, incapable of support and mutual understanding. There is apathy between them, constant silence because they have nothing to talk about. The lyrical hero does not want to put up with this state of affairs, so he tries to voice their problem.

Lyric: Fate can’t decide
Alignment of the planets in your hands
 Come on, crush our plans
 Just suck and see
A future that won’t let you disagree
And I won’t miss you at all
Annotation:
In this passage, the narrator addresses god directly, arguing that fate cannot determine the natural progression of humanity and the cosmos and that, if god has the ability to create universes, he should also have the ability to end them and destroy them. The narrator then challenges god, ordering him to “bring it on,” knowing full well that there is no such thing as a god and that nothing will happen as a result. He invites god to approach and comprehend that neither deities nor religion will exist in the new world. And the narrator won’t miss religion or god any time soon after they are gone.
