Annotation:
The madness that has been brought on has finally come to its zenith and radical, destructive forces must be used to restore order: this phrase constitutes a call for revolution.

Lyric: You don’t have long

Annotation:
Matt is insinuating that the reign of the tyrants is coming to an end, and will be coming in a violent, revolutionary way.

Lyric: Embedded spies brainwashing our children to be mean
Annotation:
A reference to media, TV programs, and the way society is pressured to certain norms and values by the powerful, that can harm the young on the long term. Brainwashing is a very common theme in the band’s discography (see  “Uprising”,  “Defector” and many more).

Lyric: Policies have risen up and overcome the brave
Annotation:
People are being restrained by these policies being created, crushing those who are brave enough to try make changes for the better.

Lyric: Greatness dies, unsung and lost, invisible to history
Annotation:
Bellamy believes that all the great events and people in history are ignored; people pay more attention to the atrocities.  PROPOSED SUGGESTION: Addressed certainly to the real leaders of the world nowadays: the secret societies, the banksters and the corporates. The reign of these tyrants will for sure pass be past of history.

Lyric: Wake to see, your true emancipation is a fantasy
Annotation:
By pointing out how the vast majority of the world’s citizens do not actually have a say in politics and everything above them, this line addresses humanity and tells its glory and freedom was merely a dream.
