We never posted anything about the day of the MCR concert in Edmonton .. so here’s a quick recap meeting MCR.

Well, I met Frank earlier in the day.  But Beck was buying a jacket in the mall, and going up to the hotel room for a minute to put her purse away.  I tried calling her to get her ass down to the bus.  But, the fucking elevator at Fantasyland is ridiculously slow, and she didn’t make it in time.  She missed him by literally exactly two minutes.  Even though she sprinted across the mall!  I chatted with Frank about the tour so far, got him to sign my ticket, and got a hug.  I tried to get Frank to wait for Beck.  I asked if he would please wait for my twin sister to come back.  (He perked up when I mentioned I had a twin!)  He said he would try and he would stay until he had signed something for everyone there.  But then there was no one left, and Beck wasn’t back yet, so he left. 

The concert was, obviously, fucking amazing.  But, there is too much wonderfulness to go into detail.  They played like our 3 favourite songs, so we were extremely happy.  I caught Elaine’s drumstick!  We each managed to get one of Frank’s guitar picks!  (In Calgary, I got one of Frank’s and Beck got one of Ray’s!)

After the concert, we were informed the band was going to see a movie & that they unfortunately would not be meeting anyone tonight. They were nice about it, but I knew that if they went to a movie, that meant they had to come back to the bus sometime! Last time we went to the Calgary show, security assured us they wouldn’t be coming out, and Frank did. So, we weren't believing anything they told us. And we are 19, almost 20.. so no one was waiting up for us and we got a hotel room in the hotel there just to wait for them.  So, we had all night to wait.  We went and got some food and chatted with this girl, Megan.  Eventually their assistant came out & offered us water and food. She was super nice, and understood that we weren’t leaving.

At about 2:40, the bus moved over to another entrance of the mall (the one by Europa Boulevard if you are familiar with West Ed).  It was going in the same direction as the Fantasyland Hotel (where we were staying), so we started to get ready to go back to the hotel, and followed it (not creepily, that was just the way we were going). But the bus drove slow, like it knew we would follow. There was about 6 people waiting, including us. We all followed the bus & the bus driver seemed to know we would.


We were walking & saw a group of people coming towards us. At first we saw people from the Architects walk by, and then Neon Trees. Then we saw MCR turn the corner. We saw Frank first, & actually, he was the only person we saw at first. The rest had hoods on & it was hard to tell who was who. So we waited to talk to Frank, but while we were waiting, Gerard popped up right in front of us! We asked Gerard if he could sign our CDs & apologized for pestering him. He said it was no problem at all & kept assuring us it was okay (even though it took me FOREVER to find my sharpie). Beck asked him what movie they went to & he answered Sucker Punch. When we asked him what he thought of it, he said it was good. But, it seemed like he wanted to tell us all the reasons it wasn’t as good as he hoped haha. We told him what an amazing show it was & how we got our asses kicked at the barricade, but that it was totally worth it. He said, “Yeah, it was a weird setup. A weird way to see a show.” He didn’t seem impressed with the venue. (I don’t blame him, I didn’t really like the Edmonton Event Centre.) While we were talking to him, Ray wandered over & Gerard handed him the sharpie. Ray automatically signed our CD. We asked Ray about Sucker Punch as well. He seemed to like it a little more than Gerard, but he still wasn’t super enthusiastic about it. We also asked him if he had fun, since he was smiling all night. He said, yeah he had a lot of fun. And he thanked us for coming! So, we moved over to Frank after that. I told him, I’m not sure if you remember me, but I asked you to wait for my twin sister earlier, and this is her. He remembered me and was super excited that Beck waited for him. When I pointed her out to him, he said, “Oh yeah! Aw, and your sister waited for me!!” Then he shook her hand and laughed while she explained about having to run down the entire mall. He was so happy & so nice, and he told us we were amazing because I waited with Beck to make sure she got to meet him! We told him what an amazing show it was & he thanked us and thanked us for coming out. He was so sincere, it was amazing. Then we somehow ended up at Gerard again and asked if he would mind if we took a picture with him. He said, “No, lets do it!”. A roadie popped out of nowhere & very excitedly took the picture. Gerard waited with us to see how the picture turned out. It was adorable. We chatted a bit more and after that, we finally spotted Mikey! We went over and asked if he would please sign our cd. He said, “Of course!” very happily & signed it (he seemed so tall!). We told him the show was incredible & he thanked us for coming as well. We intended to get a picture with everyone else, but their bus driver honked at them. So Frankie said (rather sadly), that they had to go.

It was the best night of our lives!  We got to meet the people who make our life what it is.  And no other night will ever compare.
