I have a theory about why Georgie’s encounter with the End cauterized her fear. So in one of the Q&A’s (season 4?), Jonny and Alex talk about how you would remove yourself from different fears, like blinding for the Eye. And they say for the End you would just have to not care anymore and not fear the End. Which is as close to a canon answer for that as we’re going to get.

And it sounds like that’s what happened to Georgie, sort of? That she just….didn’t care. Except that she would have to be marked by the End in order to remove herself from it. So…maybe she was. Maybe the encounter with the End somehow involved a choice to remove herself that she didn’t know about?

Okay, I just looked at the transcript. It says that Georgie got really depressed afterwards. And her friend who was also whispered to just lay there to die. But she didn’t. Maybe she made some choice to simply not care anymore and life went on.

It also brings up the question of when Georgie was marked by the End. When did she have a near-death experience? Maybe someone should write a fic about it. Maybe I will.
